  1. All Leaked U.S. Cables Were Made Available Online [unredacted] as WikiLeaks Splintered No ****. Maybe it should have stayed classified in military computers? So much for the left/"progressive"/socialist shrug-off argument that 'It's OK!' The names are blacked out! We all need to know this!' These people who hold Bradley Manning up as their national hero know jack **** about the military, know jack **** about how much the release affected troops on the ground and know jack **** when it comes to seeing anything beyond the nose on their face. Now, the predictable, likely end has come to fruition and the people whose names used to be blacked out might as well have Cut Here hash lines on their throats. Julian Assange is a POS hypocrite dirtbag terrorist facilitator.
  2. Evidence Suggests Cover-Up in ATF Scandal, as More Guns Appear at Crime Scenes Your ATF, ladies and gents! Fully 90% of the guns in Mexico come from their southern border, but the blame goes to the U.S. and the NRA, (as usual) and an anti-gun administration tries to amp up the problem and the left media uses the government's !@#$-up to push for more private owner/dealer regulation. Foreign Policy magazine. Washington comPost. This is the pot calling the Dove soap bar black. How about the ATF stops giving them AK-47s first, and THEN see where we are?
  3. Plus, he lives in Canada.
  4. ATF Director Out of Top Job; Transferred to Justice Dept. Yet, in true D.C. style, he's shuffled to the Justice Department (because interminable fug-ups are the best meters-out of justice, don't you know) and ATF will do a "meet the new boss, same as the old boss." It's not the individual people who are running the agency that are the problem. It is the agency's policy, and size/scope of their influence that leads individual agents/directors to believe they're above the law and can't be touched. Because as it stands, they are, and they can't. When ~2000 taxpayer-bought AK-47s are funneled to the drug cartels, and a Border Patrol agent is killed with one of those weapons, the perpetrators of this deal get promoted or transferred.
  5. Tea Partier Herman Cain, especially, wants blacks to "hang from trees." These congresscritters can make statements like these with ease because they know for sure they'll get re-elected no matter what they say or do. How do they know this? William Jefferson, Charlie Rangel, Maxine Waters.... As long as they're black and keep the federal dole rolling in, they can say and do no wrong.
  6. Granted that it initially happened before Pres. Obama had much/any influence.... But he does take some ownership when/if his administration doesn't deport his aunt and now his uncle the same way they've done with other illegal immigrants accused/convicted of crimes. (One of the few things I supported.... which they're now curbing back). Just because it didn't go through Congress doesn't mean it's not administration policy. In June, he directed ICE agents to exercise "prosecutorial discretion" (wink, wink) and gave revised guidelines for who should be detained and deported. So, it is de facto law.
  7. Whup... Not so fast. Texas A&M denies Big 12 decision Well, they denied that the president had sent a letter to the Big 12 on Monday.... Note that they did not say that A&M will not be leaving.
  8. Well, Lori's not here anymore.... Thanks to certain members on the main board who do their lulz and chase away everyone with an iota of knowledge, good sense and decency. *s!
  9. Announcement coming today. Link Watch the dominoes fall.
  10. The plot thickens.... President Obama’s uncle had Social Security ID Next question --- at 67, has he been collecting? Not surprising tho. They run classes on how immigrants can suck the teat dry of every level of government.
  11. Out-Jimmy-Cartering Jimmy Carter. New heights of futility.
  12. God, kid. Don't you want your own PS3 by now?
  13. Ditto, except that the wind did a number on my cucumber/pole bean trellis at about noon. The worst part of the storm was having extended family sheltering over, and in that regard this has been the never-ending day from hell. I don't get all those people who mowed their lawns on Friday or Saturday morning before the rain started. There's crap all over their yards again. Tomorrow I'll pick up the branches/twigs that fell (quite a few actually), use the bagger mowers and presto change-o! They'll either have to mow again or wait a week.
  14. Well, I suppose that this is in the same vein of what you expect's going to happen when the obese children stop getting ice cream after every meal....
  15. Seconded. (And that's as someone who hates the genre.) "If you're naked in there, I'm definitely going to look!" Great humor infusion from David Tennant.
  16. Picked up loose items, dragged the kayak up under the deck, and took down the rooftop antennas. There's about $500 invested in my antenna system, as we are in a deep fringe/low signal area. There's also a huge red oak with branches that nearly touch it that we were going to take down this summer, but haven't gotten to it yet. Plus, with 75-90 sustained winds and harder gusts predicted, I just want to avoid that much strain on the lag bolts into our rafters (They're 2x6" spaced 16" which the GC in the '70s said you could drive a truck across) and keep the antennas from getting pummel by swaying or falling branches. Maybe I'm playing it too safe. But hey, it only took ~10 min. to take it down. Put up a small one that I made from copper wire awhile back that I won't be over-grieved to lose. Went inside to try it out and I'm getting a few channels (a CPTV that could probably be picked up with a paperclip) to keep up to date with the storm and have something to watch. That's the first time I've ever heard that particular proverb.... And I worked summers on my grandparents'/uncle's dairy farm! What's the meaning there? Rain coming from all directions?
  17. Right. But they may need to run more lines. And at 10 years old, for co-axial cable, that's about 2/3 of its suggested lifetime. If you're uncomfortable with touching that kind of stuff, then do call someone who knows what they're doing. (BTW, the cheapest way would be to cut your cord and go antenna-only.)
  18. Wait... from where? The U? (Isn't move-in this week?)
  19. He means Maxine Waters, not Maxine, your octogenarian female attitudinal soulmate.
  20. Robbing Peter to pay Paul....
  21. Depending how it tracks and how strong the winds are as it comes up the coast, I may be taking down my antenna pole (~12 feet with a two-antenna set-up) on Saturday.
  22. So, because it's been said before, it no longer applies or is untrue? Fans like you who are willing to let Ralph sweep his dookies under the rug and tolerate his cheap-bastard approach are part of the problem.
  23. And "Wild, Wild West" about 10 years ago. Perhaps that was the death knell for Western/Sci-fi crossover genre, at least? But... probably not. Wait another 10 years, they'll make another with Orlando Bloom as a gay cowboy who has to fight time-traveling robots bent on the destruction of earth because we're causing a global warming epidemic. In all seriousness, though, while Hollywood is on a known-quantity/sequel kick, I'd love to see a "Starman 2" where they can get into what happens with the child. I recently caught the first after seeing that Jeff Bridges "American Masters" program on PBS, and found out he got an Oscar nod for it. Imagine where they could take it today, given the right story. And seriously, tgregg, if you write this, at least let me proofread it. I graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa Journalism/English.
  24. Well, what with Twilight, etc., you've gotta take into account the demand price for false fangs and theatre glue....
