Interesting D stats thru 4 games: Top 3 leading tacklers are Benford, Bishop and Tre. That can’t be good. Zero INTS by our CB’s Walker having a very solid year thus far as a rookie. Sanders not so much. Daquon Jones and Bosa tied with two sacks each for the most sacks thus far. That equates to 8.5 sacks each for the year.

Cam Lewis missed a wide open tackle on the 3rd and 7. Solomon whiffed on the next Rattler scramble. In the TD, Taron Johnson is in position and whiffed, Taylor Rapp then whiffs again and finally Tre was the last resort but was being blocked. Not sure what our LB’s were doing. Also, they are at the 18 yard line so why is our S playing 16 yards deep at the snap? That first drive highlighted how atrocious the tackling was. They could have /should have easily gotten off the field on 3rd and 7. What is extremely disappointing, is these are experienced players making crucial mistakes. I believe we could understand if our rookies were struggling. On Sunday, I saw way too many substitutions that resulted in the D not being set. In addition, New Orleans was purposely playing with pace offensively and yet we didn’t adjust. This resulted in multiple timeouts that were used by the defense.

True, but we’re talking about Sanders, Walker and Bishop being the younger players. We have a plethra of experience players on D who have continued struggling with tackling and being out of position. Was really frustrating is this isn’t a new scheme so it’s concerning that’s it’s an ongoing problem with gap assignments, poor tackling with an ineffective pass rush. IMO, the Bills substitute defensively way too much on the DL and we rely too heavily on straight bull rushing which isn’t a strength for many on our DL.

THE ROCKPILE REVIEW – At the One-Quarter Mark
TFBillsfan replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall
Q2 focus moves to NE, ATL, Carolina and KC. Can they go 4-0? If so, they’ll need to get tighter on D as ATL and KC have formidable offenses. With the way our D has played and at times when our O can get stagnant, they can’t sleepwalk against NE or Carolina. Keep stacking wins and take care of business! A win against NE would move the Bills to 3-0 within the AFCE and dang near seal another AFCE title barring something bizarre happening. ATL on the road, who have an arsenal of offensive weapons with a mobile QB, won’t be easy! There will be plenty of BillsMafia at the game. Then on to Carolina, where the Bills can’t stumble where BillsMafia will be out in full force yet again. Lastly, we close out Q2 with KC at home. Nothing more needs to be said for this game! Getting to 4-0 in Q2, is certainly doable but won’t be easy. 2-2 would be disappointing. But to get to 4-0, tackling has to significantly improve on the D! LETS GO BUFFALO! -
Jets are fighting with TN for that spot!

Just watched the Saints opening drive and the amount of horrible tackling was on full display. Cam Lewis missed an easy tackle on Rattler allowing a 1st down on 3rd and 8. Solomon missed an easy tackle on Rattler allowing him to scramble for a big gain. On the Saints TD run both Taron Johnson and Rapp missed basic tackles allowing a 18 yard TD run. Looked bad in person and even worse watching it now on replay! Woof!

THE ROCKPILE REVIEW – At the One-Quarter Mark

Thanks for confirming Shaw. Iwas at the game and saw Tre lined up in the S role a few times and had to do a double take. Peaked my interest. Haven’t had a chance to watch the game but curious on their D alignment with Tre at S. -

Ravens have Houston at home next who are also 1-3. If Lamar doesn’t play, they could fall to 1-4 with the Rams next. The Steelers have a legit shot of winning the AFCN. Early playoff predictions: BUFFALO kc Pitt Indy Chargers Jax ? -
Week 4, Ain'ts v. Bills, GAME BALLS!
TFBillsfan replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
Was really disappointing with the staff as they had a mini bye to get ready for this game. While NO played on the West coast last week, flew back to NO on Monday to then fly to the East coast. Offensively, I’d like to see us go more uptempo at times. Defensively, I don’t even know what our scheme is. Rush four with majority of straight bull rushing, with almost never stunting. Heck move Bosa around from time to time. Creat some freaking mismatches or confusion! Instead our DL continues to get stonewalled while our secondary plays soft coverage constantly giving up easy 5-10 yard passes. Add in piss poor tackling and it’s very concerning. Led the team in tackles which isn’t a good sign for the D! -
Solomon, Groot, Sanders and Jones are not getting it done early in the season. At this point, I really have to question our scheme as our pass rush is just woeful. I’m not convinced it’s gonna be any better with the addition of the two suspended DL, and the return of Oliver and Milano. If our D doesn’t take a significant step up, it’s gonna be a major liability!

Ravens have some injuries but something is not right with them. Way too talented. Looking like a get right game for KC! -
9/28/2025 Bills vs Saints post game thread
TFBillsfan replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Just getting back from the game! Great to get the W and get to 4-0. The game felt like a grind but yet the Bills score 31 and win by 12! AJE with two sacks! Cole with an amazing INT! DT Walker looked disruptive Overall, our D looks out of sorts. Another game of bad tackling and too soft of coverage when NO was content with the easy throws. Offensively, Bills made it at times look easy and other times very difficult. 4th down and 1 playcall by Brady was hot garbage! I’m not sure Brady/McDermott actually value a creative playcall. Daboll showed much more creativity. Josh played solid but left some plays on the table. He seems very content taking the easy check downs but can’t tell if the WR aren’t winning. On the Patriots! LETS GO BUFFALO! -
Wow!

Darnold’s really improved since his days in NYJ. Still has he’s limitations but good for him
-
If I’m Seattle, I’m forcing Murray to throw deep and taking away the short throws. Their DL is winning in the trenches. Harrison might need a change of scenery! Oof!

Not a fan of the AZ uni.

I was hoping they got Lawrence or Jeffrey Simmons last year. I would expect it would be even more difficult financially now. But landing Shaheed or Olave would be sweet for the offense.
-
Most importantly is get the W!!!!
-
To be clear meaning misses on having any substantial impact in 2025. We went into this season needing to get younger on D and when you draft D with the vast majority of your picks, you’d like to have immediate contributions especially from your top picks.

Understand, but realistically I think we all can see Landon will have minimal impact this year. Barring injury, he’ll be inactive more often than not. If Max’s injury keeps him out, that’s two of the three. While Sanders has gotten playing time, thus far return had been minimal. And yet again Beane traded up to get Sanders. In full transparency, I want to be 💯 wrong!
