Little known fact about QB17 -Legendary Crop boy
thenorthremembers replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
Little known fact Patrick Mahomes was actually the #1 FFA student those years. -
He's coached football for longer than I've been alive and I'm middle age. He's coached in the NFL for over 30 years and called plays for 25. There is a lot to be said about experience, he's been through almost every situation you can in football. Unfortunately in today's culture and NFL everyone wants a fast payoff. It took the guy 20 years as a head coach to win a Superbowl. At least part of that first victory was due to what he learned losing 4 conference championships and 1 Super Bowl before he got one.
-
Mahomes is the best QB in the league without question. If you think he is the same Mahomes he is today without Andy Reid you don't understand the game. He threw a beauty of a ball to win the game. The play design was also a thing of beauty.
-
I've played or coached football for a 3rd of my life. I understand how the game works.
-
Yes, and on a play call you have multiple options. Not every wr ran routes to the end zone.
-
The Bills don't have the players the 9ers do on defense. This isn't surprising.
-
Yes, and he made Allen throw to the end zone multiple times.

Diggs cryptic comments - 2024 edition
thenorthremembers replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Whatever happens we should know very soon. They need to restructure contracts to have money for free agency and the draft. If he isnt restructured he is likely on his way out. If he is, he will be here. -
No, but if enough national media people say it then people start to believe it. The guy with the most touchdowns in the league this year wasnt voted into the Pro Bowl. NFL awards, and accolades are an extension of the NFL's hype machine, they dont need to be based in fact. They only need to help sell jerseys.

State of Mississippi demands repayment from Favre
thenorthremembers replied to stuvian's topic in The Stadium Wall
It is not my position. But nowhere in the article did it say Favre made the interest off of the money he took. The article actually said nothing about where the figure came from. Only that in their opinion he owed interest on the original amount. My guess, is the interest they are speaking about was based on a percentage they came up with or the Value of the money from when he originally took it to the point he paid it back. Maybe it was even based on his net worth from one point in time to another. We don't know that because it was never explained. Personally I feel like paying the amount he took is fine. Especially when the United States legal system has set a precedence when it comes to corporations, PPP loans for the rich etc where they feel like multiple million dollar debt can be forgiven. Where do you think that money comes from? We can all throw our hands up about Favre because we can put a face to it. But believe me, large corporations and government officials rob us way more than some washed up football player ever will. It's a farce. -
Parents and youth sports (again)
thenorthremembers replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in Off the Wall
My kids basketball team played Newfane the other day. One of the kids on Newfane looked right at the ref and yelled "what the f" not the clean version. Ref did nothing. The kid ran down to the other end of the floor, threw my kid to the ground during a jump shot attempt. Then screamed at him "you're not him!" That prompted multiple chest bumps from his teammates. I've coached youth and high school sports for 15 years but I've had it. The kids have become entitled jerks and it's easy to tell where they get it from when you speak to the parents. -
Random talking head says something about the Bills
thenorthremembers replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agreed there. I was more interested in hearing why Shady didnt think Allen was a nerd, than having to hear another debate about whether he turns the ball over too much. I think they are seen as separate issues. However, I think the margin for error is so small in the NFL that you could argue if Josh takes the check down instead of gunning for the endzone in the latest Chiefs game there may be some sort of correlation. -
“They stole our country”

No matter who we vote for we vote for people's interests who make up 1% of the population and 95% of the wealth and land. It's the same story since European Kings sent explorers here. If you think you're on the right side of history just because you vote Democrat guess again. -
Random talking head says something about the Bills
thenorthremembers replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think what he brought up was apt. Yes, its the same argument a lot of people make, he's too reckless/he cant beat Mahomes (both of which are true to an extent) but I also think Shady did a hell of a job of saying why those things are excusable to an extent. For those who aren't going to listen Shady essentially said Allen is like a modern-day Favre. He said his ceiling is so high that you will take the recklessness. I think they both agreed that no one else in the league can do what Josh does. But, Josh tends to get in his own way as well. One of the points Shady made that few people seem to really take to heart is that championships are harder than hell to win. Patriot fans seem to think they grow on trees. -

Ill post a link to that as well, but Beasley was on the Shane Gillis Podcast earlier this week. He said he text Beane to come back when he left the Giants and Beane said "Ill keep you in mind." I have no doubt its Beasley. Tried to embed the code but didnt figure that out either. -

After watching so many players come through here during the drought he was one of the first players I watched and thought oh thats what a special talent looks like. -

If your bored give it a watch/listen. First and foremost, Shady is hilarious. Secondly, he goes to bat for Allen quite a bit. Part that stood out was Edelman saying a former Bill who played with both Josh Allen and Daniel Jones said Jones was way more accurate than Allen. Have to imagine it was Beasley or Hodgins, but Breida or Davis Webb would also make sense. -
Looks like Fangio and the Dolphins had an ugly split.
thenorthremembers replied to Gregg's topic in The Stadium Wall
Seems like a lot more smoke than fire. That said, McDaniel will be on his 3rd Defensive Coordinator in as many years, neither of which is gone because they were promoted to a head coach somewhere else. Additionally, if you have players that play hard depending on how they feel about a coach, then you have the wrong type of players. Not hard to prove when Tyreek Frickin Hill appears to be a voice of reason in this article. I understand coaching has changed a lot over time but I think when you fail to delineate yourself from your players you're asking for trouble. There needs to be some clear standards set, otherwise who are they answering to? -
Commanders Hire Dan Quinn as HC
thenorthremembers replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
Thats if he wanted the job. He is getting paid 19 million dollars over the next two years by the Titans to stay home. Personally, I think the guy is taking a year off to see if the Ohio State job opens up at the end of the year. If not maybe the Steelers job is open? -
Inside Jets dysfunction article in the Athletic
thenorthremembers replied to stevewin's topic in The Stadium Wall
Rodgers is an intelligent guy, but he isn't an emotionally intelligent guy. He knows a lot about a lot, but his lack of emotional intelligence doesn't allow him to recognize the things he doesn't know, for example, being an NFL GM. His arrogance led him to believe he should be involved in roster decisions and play calling. Being a winning organization, the Packers saw it for what it was and moved on. The Jets, being a losing organization with a head coach who is equally as arrogant bought into it. The Packers chose the organization over Rodgers. The Jets made Rodgers the organization.
