Allen's final throw, bad decision or bad pass?
BananaB replied to TwistofFate's topic in The Stadium Wall
What a clown. He made a play on a very poorly thrown ball or a bad miscommunication between QB and WR and he’s making it out like he’s genius. I think we can all agree if Gabe cuts in Peterson is beat, if Allen throws deeper Peterson is beat. Guy got lucky If he was banking on Gabe making the wrong read I’d have to say he is a genius though. -

He ain’t clutch but it wasnmt him who dropped a TD pass in the endzone on first down. 😂 How about hitting Davis on 4th down from 70 yards away? Sometimes your just only as good as your supporting cast. Allen and Diggs are the only guys with any consistency on this offense. As far as the Int seems to be a lot of speculation of what went wrong there. -

Exactly, we don’t know. But a lot of people jumping to the conclusion it was a bad throw. We’ve seen Gabe and Allen being off a few times this year. -

Rarely see this miscommunication with Diggs. Last week on the Sauce INT Allen threw inside and Gabe went out. Bad throw plus miscommunication on someones part. We don’t know, just like we don’t know about Sunday. -

How do you know? Does everyone on the board have the playbook. The pass thrown sure looks like it wasn’t a double post. That’s what I’m saying, we don’t know for sure -

How do we know he did? Bad throw or miscommunication, we really have no clue. We know Allen will take blame regardless because that’s who he is. Fact is these miscommunications between Allen and Davis have popped up at time between these two. You hardly see it out of Allen and Diggs though. -

Bad route. Cut in instead of up and that ball hits him in the chest -
He misses old reliable Cole Beasley

Other then the first drive they did nothing until that one long run. We also get the ball back to counter anything they put on the board. No trust in O or D to close a game so he tried to end it on one play. No trust in all their RBs to get 2 yards. Had 4 of them to choose from and the guy they felt most comfortable on the field during a crucial series was the guy off the PS.

I thought it was terrible as well. McD always goes on about how he trusts his players but he didn’t trust the D with a 13 point lead with 11 minutes left.

I said it all day, if Davis cuts in instead of up that’s an easy catch at around the 2 yard line. That’s how I see it. Allen has targeted Diggs the most all season and you rarely ever see a miscommunication between the two. Between Davis and Allen there seems to be a play every week that just makes you shake your head. Allen will never point fingers and he’ll put all the blame on his shoulders, so I guess we’ll never really know for sure. A lot of ***** factored into yesterdays loss, but when it comes down to one play that’s all most people focus on

Watch it over bud. Two guys were sitting at the sticks there was a corner, a safety, Davis and our other WR. If Gabe cuts across no one can make a play on the ball but him. Allen was in the process of throwing as he made his cut, he went towards the safety when the open field was infront of the safety
-
He was on point almost all day except for the toss on 4th and 2… Numerous balls got dirted, 3 hit WRs hands and they couldn’t bring in the ball. He took what was given to him plenty of times. That last pass the play was there if Gabe runs the correct route. He turns in instead of up and that ball hits him just before the endzone.
-
Easy to say now….Gabe had position on his man and if he ran in instead of up that’s an easy catch. The play was there. You can’t look back at every missed opportunity and say he should of took check down. Maybe he should of took check down on the pass to Knox as well then. Perfect pass but it was down field and we had time on the clock and it was fist down. So stupid. Gabe breaks in that’s an easy completion.

The INT was on Gabe. Allen will never admit it but it’s pretty ***** obvious to me. He cuts in instead of up and that ball hits him on one or two. -
Nyheim Hines: Why did we bother trading for him?

Allen was in the process of throwing when Gabe made cut, if he cuts inside instead of up that’s an easy catch. The play was there, the LBers could not make a play on the ball, the safety was too deep and Gabe had position on Peterson. Allen will never throw a guy on this team under the bus but it’s obvious Gabe made the wrong read, he cut upfield and headed to more traffic. When Gabe went up it gave Peterson position to make the play on the ball. -

He looked pissed and rightfully so. It was nice to see Diggs take the blame for his mistakes during his presser. Allen takes the heat for everything and in this type of game a lot of people put it solely on his shoulders. Mistakes were made all over the field. Coaching especially. Every week I we hear McD say he trusts his guys, he didn’t trust the D to hold a 13 point lead with 10 minute left. Doesn’t trust his RBs to run the ball and picked up PS player for short yardage. Or maybe that was because he didn’t trust McKenzie returning kicks in this weather after what happened last year against the Colts. -

On 4th and 2 Duke Johnson was on the field. ***** just don’t make sense. He seemed like he was there for short yardage plays by the snaps he was taking. We picked a guy up from our PS because the lack of trust they have in the guys they drafted and traded for. McDermott says he believes in all his guys, sure looks like it.
