Get the Bills to third down and they take Cook out of the game themselves. 😂

Joe B (The Athletic) on passing game problems (with data)
BananaB replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
Have we all forgot about Sherfield and Harty being higher on the depth chart than Shakir for half a season. Beane just don’t know WRs as good as thinks he does. What is worrisome is both McD and Beane said they were disappointed with Coleman to end the season last year but really never had an insurance plan going into this year. Kind of like when Gabe got boosted to the 2 spot (which he deserved) but was disappointing, Beane blamed it on injury and doubled down on Gabe the following season. -
This is kind of a yearly thing. Always looks like at some point he doesn’t trust WRs. 4 years in a row heading into November with WR issues.

That’s all they throw is short passes until they are backed up.

I think everybody gotta be given a chance to run deep routes. Part of the struggles is predictability. Each guy seems to have a few things they use them for. -
Well until I see it you never really set me straight. If he did I guess it proves he shouldn’t be head of scouting. Players gotta stay out of that ***** and it’s more on Beane.
-
So that’s all you got, he advocated for him. Obviously you don’t know to what extent and if he advocated for anyone else. Either way it’s still Beanes job to make the correct decision.
-
Josh ain’t saying anyone bad about anything so I’m not sure how much he was advocating for Coleman. I think some people blow ***** up they know nothing about. I do think Beane might of asked about what he thought, how much Allen was pounding the table for Coleman is really unknown. And if there was anyone else Allen wanted we really have no clue. In the Bills Embedded it seemed Beane had his mind made up at the combine though. Being happy a guy ran slow so you can get him late is weird. You gotta be really high on him at that point to think that way. One thing that bothers me about this pick is we had a need and Beane drafted Coleman and called it quits, when we need defensive guys we are drafting multiple players at that position. Either way the WR group is terrible and the OC isn’t doing them any favours.

I think he’s getting frustrated with all the short routes. Jmo. It’s like the Bills passing game is designed to play in a box. Defences don’t respect them going deep anymore because they don’t even attempt deep shots. So basically almost every passing play is like working close to opponents endzone. Windows are tighter, WRs are more bunched up, reads are tougher and throws gotta be more accurate. Anyone who has played sports before knows what it feels like to be in a situation where they feel they gotta rush a pass or shot before they think an opening will close. Sometimes you just don’t get what you want on it. I think that’s what happening with a lot of Josh’s off throws. He’s making multiple reads a lot and guys aren’t getting open, when something does come open he’s rushing a bit and it’s effecting placement. Like to say Brady gotta be better but this is the O McD wants. Announcers said that numerous times today. Cook ain’t running for 200 every week and our D ain’t facing Andy Dalton every week so they gotta get this passing game figured out.

What about the jump balls and contested throws? Watching him seems a lot of those plays the ball is hitting the ground. That’s what Beane said was his strengh. Maybe I’m seeing something different.
-
I’m all for playing young players and have them learn on the field then watching washed up has beens. And yeah I don’t really give a ***** if he knows the playobook. If he can’t make the plays it’s pointless. When McD took over this team he had to let the young players play because there was no one else. A lot of them became the backbone of the team for years. Now for some reason almost every young player can’t be trusted and we’re either holding onto or bringing back these guys that were once the backbone but are now way past their prime. Hard to improve that way. It’s more of a steady decline, which is what we have seen with this D
-
To bad when throwing up a 50/50 ball it seems like a 25/75 with Keon
-
I think the D is so bad that there is a huge emphasis on slow time consuming offensive drives. More than usual.
-
Someone gotta explain to McD that Father Time gets everybody.
-
Bills fans ain’t use to wide open WRs. Use to Allen trying to throw it through key holes.
-
If it starts putting pressure on McDs defense I’m happy. Anything that pushes for a change will make me happy at this point

Reading the same ***** I read when Mac Jones beat us in the cold game. They have made improvements and are playing a 4th place schedule, looks like they have an advantage right now. Bills really ***** up playing like ***** last Sunday.

Wow!!!! We suck! Glad we got that defensive minded HC
-
Training staff gotta get these guys doing an hour of yoga every day

Problem with the Bills everyone eats is the big rotation and our best players not getting a full snap count. Also on tape the rotation and player personnel is gonna tip teams off while studying film. Kincaid and Shakir gotta be on the field more. Only two really proven players we have as pass catchers. The others you never know what your gonna get
