I need Alex Jones to explain what just happened here..
-
Ive repeatedly stated in this thread that I don’t believe elections, for the most part, are fraudently stolen. Maybe there’s some lower level races here and there that I’ve seen people point to as being suspect, but Congressional races … doubt it. We’ll likely see something different in AZ for Lake as they seem to be counting everything but Maricopa ED drop off. However, the illusion this all gives off is horrible and it needs to be fixed. I don’t disagree with your point.. In ‘20 a lot of the remaining vote as counting dragged on was from ATL, Philly etc… This has to change. But it seems Dems don’t care given the fact these races usually break their way.

If Masters somehow shoots the inside straight and beats Kelly, then - maybe - they’ll start having a problem with states taking days/weeks to count ballots. If not, they’ll just pretend this is normal, as it seems about 80% of the time when election count takes noticeably long in a tight race, the Dem wins.

As much as I am sick of Trump, and think he lost R’s winnable races in PA, NH and we’ll see about GA… I like Vance, Masters and Lake. Masters, if he loses, is more on McConnell than anyone. Not sure what went on there, but McConnell does not want Masters in the Senate and left him out to dry while Mark Kelly just poured it on with attack ads. Sometimes you have to take risks on people. Lake is someone who, if she eeks out a victory over Hobbs, I could easily see becoming a force in politics and in reshaping the AZ GOP. Remember Ron DeSantis barely won his initial Governors race… and now he’s moving up the betting odds to become President in ‘24.

Trump vs. DeSantis, who is your man?
SCBills replied to Trump_is_Mentally_fit's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
MSNBC going all in on Trump by attacking DeSantis all morning. Beyond predictable. They need Trump. -
Wasserman, who is usually very good, called it for Kelly. Others remain open to the idea Masters can still win due to the thought ED drop off ballot will break heavy red. If Wasserman calls it, I’m thinking the path for Masters is slim to nonexistent. Would love to be proven wrong, as Masters is 100x more of an intriguing Senator than Mark Kelly. Laxalt got hit with a pretty bad drop from Washoe last night. He believes the rural vote will offset Washoe, which would mean the remaining Clarke County vote has to go 63% for Masto… but unsure if he expected his lead to shrink by over 3k in Washoe.

Agreed. I don’t have an issue with the content of his policy view .. as that’s acceptable to most people, but he shattered the narrative that Republicans wanted Roe overturned because, constitutionally, the decision lies with the states. Along comes ol’ Lindsey Graham right before the midterms like nahhh, nationalize it. Gave Dems more than enough fodder to say look at this prominent Senator who wants to make it a national issue… look at these ruby red states trying to fully ban abortion. Contrast those missteps with Kemp and DeWine in Georgia and Ohio. Both signed six week abortion legislation, and both won re-election enthusiastically. Lesson for R’s… -Erase the word ban from your vocabulary. -Reinforce that this is now a state issue. -Settle law in your states as soon as possible. In states where abortion law, no matter how expansive or strict, was mostly settled .. abortion did not play much of an issue (GA, FL, OH. NY). In states that are still uncertain, they absolutely did. (MI, PA)

Mostly accurate. No idea why people think every young generation is going to be the generation that stays lib forever. Only worry is that marriage is on the decline. Marriage is one of the biggest factors in a persons political evolution towards conservatism. Single women are becoming a lost cause for R’s.. Govt takes the role of their husband.

Fighting whoever these demons are. -
Do you believe your neighbor should be able to kill their newborn child a few weeks after they take them home from the hospital? If you don’t, why are you imposing your views on them? Pro-life folks believe the same thing is happening during an abortion. It’s not imposing their religion on you.. it’s them standing up to protect the lives of the most defenseless amongst us.

15 weeks, with exceptions after for life of the mother, severe health issues and severe fetal abnormalities. This is literally where the majority of Americans reside on the issue This is also where much of Europe resides. Given this is a state level issue, some R’s may need to adjust to 20-24 weeks to be competitive in blue states, whereas heartbeat “can” clearly work in more red/purple/moderate states. Nationally though … R Presidential candidate should say it’s up to the states to decide and they would not push any nationwide ban legislation.

Going to be two-fold for Walker to win Has to motivate the Kemp voters who just went R down ballot, to come back out for Herschel Has to convince some Kemp voters who left Senate blank or tepidly split for Warnock, to vote Walker Or… just motivate every R to come out and vote for you. If everybody in Georgia votes, Republicans win. They still hold an edge in the state.

We shall see … IF, big if, they take the Senate, House and get Governorships in AZ and NV, I think that’s pretty solid midterm for R’s, especially given the continuing inroads made amongst Hispanics. Looks good for Lake and Lombardo. Pretty good for Laxalt. A bit more dicey for Masters and Walker. Will be interesting to see if “waves” are a thing of the past. R’s did well down ballot in ‘20, despite losing the Presidency. Further tribalism and the increase of gerrymandered non-competitive districts makes it much more difficult to take any remaining swing districts when there just aren’t as many. Mayra Flores won a swing district in a special election. Gerrymandered into a heavy D lean district. Washed out two nights ago. Abortion as a massive driver will fade, but R’s discovered a fatal flaw moving forward. Early vote. They have got to figure out how to mobilize early voting. How to get a ballot in the hand of every R and have them fill it out, tribally, and sent it in immediately. Also, Gen Z. Gen Z will eventually grow older, start careers, get married and start the same transition everyone does in philosophy and become more conservative as a demo. However, Dems figured out (abortion, student loan forgiveness) how to mobilize them. Usually they don’t turn out. … they did this time. This WH, while faux worried about Twitter, is obsessive in their propaganda via Tik Tok. R’s need a some kind of response… and that likely comes with continued focus on Hispanics and Black men.

Abortion and Oz being out of state is what exit polls show got Fetterman elected. Fetterman as Senator doesn’t drive state abortion laws. They can vote for Shapiro and Oz… Shapiro sets abortion policy through the state legislature in PA. Oz protects their energy industry. Instead they voted for Fetterman, who’s party has openly declared war on a huge part of PA’s economy. He’s going to need to be a Manchin type on energy or PA just screwed themselves.
-
I get the whole “why are you voting against your own interests” stuff… and it used far too often…. But this is a fantastic example of it. Dems have literally told PA to get rekt when it comes to their energy industry. They instead voted for abortion (why?.. Shapiro as Gov will help set abortion policy) and, according to 60% of their electorate, against a man who wants to protect their industry because he’s from out of state. It is what it is. I get it. But they truly voted against their self interests by electing Fetterman, unless he pulls a Manchin and bucks his party on energy.

You realize you don’t need to defend incompetence just because Republicans are annoyed by it, correct?
