Yup.. and he’s on his way to being a top DT. Noticeable in every game. Our guy is noticeable, sometimes.

You pay young guys for what you think they can become. Would you rather have Quinnen or Ed? Im not writing Oliver off just yet, but to date, I’m letting him walk. Heck, I’d even look to trade him after the season for a pick, but our staff doesn’t seem to roll that way just yet.
-
No. There’s Aaron Donald. Then there’s a Tier 2 of guys like Jeffrey Simmons. Then there’s guys in Tier 3 that have shown they can become dominant. Quinnen Williams for one. Ed Oliver has not shown to be on any of those levels, yet. But we need money elsewhere, and undersized DT who hasn’t made a splash midway through Year 4, is not on my priority list.

Election Week Malfunctions, Anomalies etc...
SCBills replied to BillsFanNC's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I will say… I’ve been following data guru on Twitter. Not affiliated with any party. And it’s obvious that they have held the AZ ED drop off votes to last. Now, maybe they’re going in chronological order. There is (probably) is a very good reason why they are dropping blue vote while very obvious large drops of red vote will be coming …. But, if they wanted to stir up conspiracy, it’s like they’re literally trying to do that. -
On to Minnesota (get this game in the rear view mirror!)

Not a shock that one team has been relatively unscathed. That team has also had an incredibly easy schedule. They are currently undefeated. -
I love Sal, but it’s hard for me to really put any analysis-driven stock about what the coaching staff is doing when he was constantly explaining us their view of “pass catchers” in the off-season. Maybe that is truly what the staff wanted, but it’s not been a success. The lack of reliability outside Diggs was an issue then, still is. So, when it comes to Cook, I’m supposed to trust that there’s a good reason to be bringing him along slowly? I’m more of the mindset that they’ve just mishandled him so far.

Trump vs. DeSantis, who is your man?
SCBills replied to Trump_is_Mentally_fit's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Do you live in GA? Im in Atlanta a lot. I’d say, my guess right now… Warnock 60% chance, Walker 40%. Kemp didn’t campaign with Walker much … Lending his get out the vote apparatus to Walker for the runoff is a pretty big deal. For all the talk about Abrams making Dems competitive af in GA, Kemp took that challenge head on and has created a machine to rival it. People in Georgia trust Kemp, and he’s going to campaign with Walker in some of the areas he’s been making GOP inroads with … specifically black men. Warnock is the better candidate politically speaking. More polished and the incumbent… but news just broke here today that his church may get subpoenaed due to them acting as slumlords in housing units they own. He has his own baggage to sort out as well.. and if some of it is coming to light now.. not great timing. -
Nevada comes down to Election Day drop off ballots (lean red) but in Clarke County (lean blue) for control of the Senate. My guess … GA SEN runoff result ends up meaning nothing for the next two years. Would love to be wrong, but not much has gone well for the GOP in the states taking forever to count their ballots, except for Boebert, Lombardo and “maybe” Kari Lake pulling it out when Maricopa drops.

DeSantis For President in 2024?
SCBills replied to Trump_is_Mentally_fit's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Little known fact … DeSantis redrew the national map to include portions of South GA and Alabama for Florida’s Governorship. People don’t realize, but every four years, Savannah is co-opted into Duval County with Jacksonville. -

Every time I come back to PPP, I’m reminded that you’re not a serious person. Good talk. -
DeSantis For President in 2024?

DeSantis knows full well what he’s doing. Kemp signed a six week abortion ban in Georgia and then smoked an Abrams pack. He knows, what any political insider deep down knows … Roe was an issue for ‘22, it will fade in ‘24. If hes the nominee, he’ll have a national position that differs from a state position, and with most states having settled law by that time… people won’t care as much. The evidence of that is all over the map this election season. PA, MI, WI vs FL, OH, TX, GA & NY. But please, overdo it, like Dems always do … it only exacerbates the erosion of Dem support in Hispanic communities. -
There’s some truth in your post but anyone saying the map was good for R’s is lying or you misheard/misread… The ‘22 map was awful for GOP, which is why some rational people tempered red wave talk, even if they still expected to do better than this. ‘24 is brutal for Dems. A lot of Congressional Dem held seats up in red areas. Two big Senate seats … Tester and Manchin up in Montana and West Virginia.

Trump vs. DeSantis, who is your man?

Trump has reportedly conveyed to Walkers camp that if he brings in DeSantis and Youngkin, and relies on Kemp, he get zero help from Trump. Haha, ok.. good. Kemp is incredibly popular in Georgia, as is DeSantis, and Youngkin is basically every Republican in Buckhead/North Metro Atlanta. Im sure Walker will really miss getting 10 cents on the dollar of every donation made to Trump’s PAC that was set up for Team Herschel. -
DeSantis For President in 2024?
SCBills replied to Trump_is_Mentally_fit's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
DeSantis has to win the statewide popular vote in Florida. Which he did by a billion. He can’t gerrymander Florida by cutting a circle out around Orlando and then adding South Georgia. -

Please explain, in detail, how a Governor “gerrymanders” a statewide race. -
We have a dumb electorate, and Dems understand that far better than Republicans. I’m in Atlanta most weekends… Warnock literally had signs alllll over ATL that said “Want $2K in your pocket? Vote Warnock”. When he won, exit polls showed that a lot of inner city people voted on the 2k stimulus check …. …..that never came. Same thing with student loans this time around. Who does that energize? Young voters and single women. Combine that with abortion and ta-da, record turnout. It was always just Warnocks $2k all over again.

Hes unorthodox for sure. User activity hit an all time high this past week and he’s beta testing in real time. Personally, i think it’s fascinating. The Twitter blue was an insane disaster though. Can’t have too many more stumbles on that level … ie., stock prices tanking based on fake accounts making false announcements. Twitter will be fine though. I think you may be more wishing for failure (long term) than expecting it.

DeSantis For President in 2024?
SCBills replied to Trump_is_Mentally_fit's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Newsom is a guy I could see being surprisingly tough as a candidate or fail spectacularly as the rest of the country .. even blue states .. are not wanting to become California. Polis is a guy who might be their best hope. He’s another one that has been randomly taking shots at DeSantis, while DeSantis just continues to be the “I don’t think about you at all” meme. Hes, aside from some weird issues, been pretty moderate - especially during covid. Personally, Polis can go **** himself for how he’s waged war on the Christian baker in his state. LGBTQ activists asking them to bake cakes with Satan and dildos, and Polis constantly being an ally to that disgusting nonsense. There’s no chance they win again with Biden, Pete or Kamala, unless Trump runs .. and even then, I think he wins. -
Credit to Dems, politically. They learned from Warnock campaigning on $2k checks in the last GA runoff. Knew they’d never send them out, but the promise helped get him elected. They knew student loan forgiveness would never pass legal challenge. They didn’t care. It gave them something to help churn out the youth vote/single women vote aside from just abortion. It worked.

Yall are reading way too much into abortion. If that’s what you want to run with, go for it. You’re losing Hispanics at a bigger and bigger clips each election. DeSantis has some very prominent Latino surrogates that get out vote for him, and constantly raging about abortion doesn’t play well in hispanic circles - according to polling. Roe decision will have been almost two years behind us during the ramp up to the election, instead of months. DeSantis, I believe, has signed 15 weeks. That’s definitely not too mainstream for America, especially when he will likely take a Presidential position that the issue belongs to the states. We’ll see what happens if the FL Leg sends him stricter limits, which I do believe he’s said he’s open to. R’s need a strategy for abortion, as someone who’s pro-life, I’ll admit.. it can’t be what it has been in certain states post-Roe. But I’m confident they will. And again, the Presidential nominee can dodge it by saying it belongs to the states and he wont sign any national legislation on it. Whitmer, Shapiro were elected, in part, to set abortion law for their states. And they will. And in states that have abortion law settled, this issue did not affect the GOP, at all. FL, OH and TX are red, but purplish GA gave six week ban Kemp a landslide victory, and the GOP had their biggest congressional successes outside FL in NY, where abortion is codified into law. -
Shapiro already out there talking about eliminating fracking. PA residents currently checking Zillow in Florida and the Carolinas.
