After yesterday who is your WR pick at 28?
Mat68 replied to SoonerBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I wouldnt discount the thought of some teams going defense or o line early with how deep wr is. Get a solid player in a position of need and get a solid wr round 2. -
Depth yes. I find it difficult to justify on either day 1 or 2. Too many immediate needs over Cb and Oline need addressed. Now a Cb with saftey/nickle versatility I would understand because saftey is very thin in numbers and answers past 24.

Mike Evans to hit free agency (UPDATE: Re-signed by TB)

This aged like warm milk. -
Is trading Milano something Bills should consider?

I wouldnt start creating more holes on the roster. Linebaker is pretty set with Benard, Milano, and Williams. D line and Saftey are thin. I would not want to add 3 down linebaker to the list of needs. -

I come away wanting a Wr at 28. I think Mitchell, Thomas and Worthy separated from the next group. I would not be surprised if Franklin went before one of the fore mentioned but I find it unlikley. I dont think the combine put those players ahead of Franklin. Many places had it that way before. Being smaller, thinner and slightly less dynamic an athlete makes it hard when other in front of Franklin knocked it out of the park. -
I guess. Or maybe he had a big game early in the season and was redshirted?? Early success and production added with elite testing imo translates. Reagor was a reach draft night. Everyone thought they were going Jefferson. I remember Bleacher Report trashing it.
-
I must have a different Idea of what breakout is vs the actually metric. Cambell is a 18.1 but only caught 10 passes as a freshman. He didnt produce until his senior year.
-
Its been more a fantasy stat but age of break is a solid indicator for NFL production. “Busts” usually break out later in thier college career when they mature and have an advantage over younger competition. Worthy breakout age 18.7. Everyone expected a fast time from him. I see Desean Jackson.

What realistic Free Agents are on your wishlist for the Bills?

Rapp and Jones are priority. I think cutting or trading Douglas for cap saving is a mistake on the field. The conversation needs to be had with White imo. Thats the elephant in the DB room. He was a top corner. He is a team leader. It is not likely he will get back to what he was. I think most would assume Douglas will be the better player over the next few years. -
Nix is alot better qb than Ewers. As a Freshman Worthy scored 12 tds on 60 catches.
-
Moss and Hill didnt have recorded times either. With Kincaid, Diggs, Cook and Shakir the short and intermediate game is covered. His speed is too rare to pass up.
-
Because he ran a 4.21. His worked out is over. Nothing more needs to be done on the field. The speed and age of breakout makes Worthy a very rare and elite prospect.
-
Shakir very well will be 2nd or 3rd in target share. I think what Buffalo lacks is someone who can threaten a defense vertically. This draft seems to have a few. I think they can find a solid wr later on but probably wont have that ability.
-
Give me Estime day 3.
-
Burton is going to rise. Imo he will run well. Could be a solid day 2 target if they go elsewhere rd 1.
-
After seeing his size how fast does Worthy and Franklin need to run to be considered at 28? Under 4.3 or 4.35?
-
At 28 I think you look for elite traits. Im high on him. If he was a little more polished or had more production he wouldnt be available at 28. Depending on what wr is available he may or may not be worth the risk.
-
In terms of outliers there is a difference between Tee Higgins or Dk Metcalf size to what these prospects are. They need to run fast.
-
This is why they have the combine. Lol all these guys shrunk.
-
Michigan stopped passing very early because they couldnt block him one on one. Against Ohio St he got hurt but was living in the backfield. He adds a dimension not on the roster and one Buffalo cant afford in FA. Starting Edge is arguably a higher position of value than Wr. Now im for a wr at 28. I think the conversation is the talent gap at De from 28 to 60 is more severe than Wr. At 60 and possibly 100 you can find capable Wrs. If you want to walk away with a starting edge and Wr I think you go DE first if one is available.
-
Pats now have 101 million in cap space - What would you do with that?
Mat68 replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
They need alot. Hard to attract premier skill players without a Qb. That is a problem. Need alot of speed on defense aswell. Its a full on rebuild. Gonzalez probably the best piece they have but got hurt. Curious to see how they go about it. Seems Kraft(s) are more involved. Assume they push hard for Maye. -
The things you cant teach he excels at. Things he lacks are teachable besides ideal length. If he can pick up Vons ghost rush move good night. I am pretty high team take a WR at 28. Either Robinson makes me rethink it. If I go that route I would target a WR in Rd 2 and move up for the one I like best. If they go Wr at 28 I think a dlineman probably interior will be sticking out at 60. Then you are taking a developmental or smaller edge later if at all.

Anyone like me wanting Beane to hurry up? (Cap)
Mat68 replied to SoonerBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
They let the core drafted players leave. They never paid big guaranteed money besides Williams. The best players at premier positions they let walk. Its was a constant Draft replacing those starters that left. For every guy they extended 2 walked. The biggest hindsight misstep was Von. Before the injury he was having a great year. I want Beane to make those big swings. We are paying for it now but that comes with it. -
Dillion. With his size may be seen as a 2 down back. Big guy to pair with Cook. Im looking for a big back plus. Not just Murray but a combo of Johnson and Murray. Maybe draft a guy day 3 and pick up a vet before camp.
-
I think there will be more quality DT options at 60 than WR imo.
