  1. And refused to commit to abiding by Article V. Come on, you cannot possibly believe that Trump didn’t want to pull out of NATO. His whole thing was about withdrawing the US from global hegemony and getting rid of multilateral deals in favor of transactional one-on-one relationships. Our allies were publicly worried he would withdraw from NATO and there’s no way Putin wasn’t aware of that.
  2. Man, the whole “the current thing” is just the lamest nihilistic nonsense. God forbid people comment on the news. Nope, it’s way cooler to just throw stones and “just ask questions” than express an actual opinion.
  3. Didn’t realize John Bolton was anonymous and didn’t work in the White House. Also, Trump criticized NATO and his America First philosophy involved withdrawing the US from the world stage. It’s perfectly reasonable for someone to expect that he would do something that he clearly wanted to do.
  4. Like I said, nobody said Nazis had to be smart. Or are you insinuating that this is a false flag or some other BS?
  5. Probably because Trump planned to withdraw the US from NATO (either severely weakening or ending the alliance), which would be a bigger victory for Putin than taking Ukraine. Since he lost the election instead because everyone was tired of his crap, Putin decided to continue trying to reconstitute the Russian Empire as consolation. Had Trump won, he probably would have waited until the US had withdrawn from NATO and then invaded.
  6. That reporter works for Bellingcat and investigating is basically his whole thing. He’s the one who identified the guy who leaked the Ukrainian documents too. As to the Mexican thing: Nobody said Nazis had to be smart.
  7. I never watched it when it was new but my wife’s family are big fans (her aunt was actually in an episode) so I’ve watched a lot of it since marrying her. I honestly think it’s great and establishes how a character driven comedy can create a fun story over literally nothing if the writing is good. That being said, I’d be interested to see how teens think of it. The big joke since it ended is that 90% of the problems on the show could be solved by a smartphone. How will younger generations who grew up with the internet and smartphones see it?
  8. So there’s no issue at all with SCOTUS justices secretly taking in hundreds of thousands of dollars of gifts from political benefactors?
  9. Look, the issue here isn’t that there is a lot of dark money and potential influence peddling swirling around a court that lacks an enforceable ethics code. The problem is that people we don’t like are pointing that out. -Conservatives
  10. Man, I gotta get my hands on whatever you’re smoking
  11. It’s almost as if the real purpose is to restore the USSR and not about NATO…
  12. This explains why Russia just invaded Finland when it wanted to join NATO. Putin would want to prevent basically doubling the length of the Russian border with NATO countries. Oh wait…
  13. But “why” is very important to fixing it. Which is why I was asking what you believed to be the cause.
  14. I would say that reaching the conclusion that black people are inherently more violent requires ignoring history and science. But if it’s convenient to your argument, I guess you can believe whatever you want.
  15. Uh huh. Another poster on this board blaming black people. Do you also believe that it’s because black people are inherently more violent than white people? Or just inferior?
  16. Do you think black people are inherently more violent than white people?
  17. It’s kind of incredible how quick people on this board are to blame black people for things. Can’t be poverty. Can’t be centuries of discrimination and preventing minorities from building wealth. Couldn’t be disinvestment in minority neighborhoods. Nope. It’s solely because we have black people, huh? Do you just want to come out and say black people are inferior? Seems like you might find some support here.
  18. The argument that Russia invaded because they didn’t want Ukraine to join NATO seems a little lame when you remember that Finland just joined NATO and Russia barely made a peep about it. Putin has long felt that the dissolution of the USSR was the worst thing to happen to Russia. It’s why he attacked Chechnya. It’s why he invaded Georgia. It’s why he invaded Ukraine in 2014 and again last year. It’s why he supports Russian partisans in Transnistria. He wants to rebuild the Soviet Empire in his image.
  19. “The root cause of crime is single parent black families and that’s why Black Lives Matter opposes two parent families” Is that your argument?
  20. Is your argument that mental illness didn’t exist when the country was founded and is new over the past 25 years? Or is it that absolutely nothing has changed around guns, gun culture, lethality of guns, or availability of guns in the last 250 years?
  21. Never said to be soft on crime. Said that an approach centered around “tough on crime” and simply hiring more officers is doomed to fail if you don’t address the root causes. Throwing a gangbanger in jail for the rest of his life is not going to deter the next gangbanger if he still sees the gang as the only way to make a living or keep his family safe.
  22. Banning assault rifles will do little to curb the violence. But it’s still better than the GOP plan to increase gun deaths.
  23. You seem to be under the mistaken impression that I believe that myth that our gun violence is driven by mental illness. It’s not. It’s the ease of access to guns.
  24. Oh, I’m not the one saying that our gun violence is a result of mental illness. That’s only a small part of it. The real problem is the easy access to guns. If you believe it’s just because of the mentally ill, what do YOU propose to do about it?
