The division is going to be tough this year. Bills should still be favorites but there won’t be any gimme division games

What will you do tonight at 8p?

Probably finish up some laundry. Might catch up on Derry Girls if the wife is around, Bad Batch if she isn’t. Probably pull out the iPad and play some Civ VI while watching. -
That’s very tin foil hat adjacent. I think it’s much more likely to be fallout from Dominion / legal liability or issues between Tucker and management.

Yes, FOX News famously bends over for the Democratic Party….

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for president in 2024?
ChiGoose replied to JaCrispy's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
My concern is that spreading lies about vaccines (like that they cause autism) can result in parents not vaccinating their kids because they believe the lies. We are seeing a resurgence in preventable diseases like measles because of this. Creating an entire organization to push these lies and spread them to more parents will absolutely result in harm to kids. It’s one thing to have a conversation with your kid’s pediatrician about the risks, appropriateness, and schedule for vaccines. But convincing parents not to vaccinate their kids based on falsehoods is dangerous. -
Congress passed a budget, spent money, made contracts, incurred expenses, etc. and now McCarthy wants to go back on all of that unless he gets his way. This isn’t about a future budget, it’s about what we’ve already committed to. He doesn’t want us to pay our bills unless his political needs are met. Illinois went through a very similar thing under the last governor and it’s why our credit rating almost went to junk status. McCarthy wants to do that for the entire US.

The debt ceiling is a mistake and weird quirk that would never exist if it was thought through at any point. Congress sets the budget. It tells the Executive Branch how much to spend and how much money it’ll receive to do so. When Congress tells the Executive to spend more than it takes in, any rational person would understand that as Congress telling the Executive to borrow the difference. Instead, Congress also has to pass a separate bill to authorize the borrowing it essentially already told Executive to do. The idea that using the debt ceiling as a vehicle for redoing the budget makes as much sense as threatening to not pay your mortgage until your kid cuts back on their Roblox spending. Sure, their spending might be out of control but tying it to the mortgage payment is just going to hurt everyone and shift the conversation away from proper budgeting at the expense of the family’s credit. What McCarthy is doing, and a long line of congressional leaders on both sides have done in the past, is stupid, counterproductive, against the mandate of the voters, and dangerous to the US economy.

Totally understand. Personally, I would consider someone who spreads lies or misinformation against vaccines, especially in a manner that may cause harm, would be anti-vaxx. There is good faith debate to be had around vaccine policies, but actual lying about the vaccines themselves or spreading false information is something we should all oppose. RFK has lied about the mercury levels and effects of vaccines, about testing of vaccines, and what kinds of governance exists around vaccines. He has even spread the false claim that vaccines cause autism. So the fact that he's also set up an organization to promote these harmful lies would, in my book, make him an anti-vaxx nutjob. I didn't say anything about this. This is just you projecting. -

He created a non-profit about a decade ago that pushes anti-vaxx messages and medical misinformation. They did appear to make bank during COVID though. I guess grifting can pay well. -

He’s an anti-vaxx nutter whose work has put the lives of children in danger. Now he’s launching a vanity project presidential campaign. He’s going nowhere but hey, at least he can make some money off of this. -
It’s tough to say how much Chicago cops make because we spend nine figures in overtime pay for cops despite having almost twice as many cops per resident as other big cities. From what I’ve read and having talked to some cops, you could easily make six figures as a Chicago cop.

The LAST thing the GOP wants is for the people to have a voice -
90%+ of voters are normies. Normies were tired of Trump’s antics. Joe Biden was a known quantity and was generally considered boring. Voting out chaos and voting in boring was the entirely predictable outcome of the previous four years. The people who are still confused about this need to step out of their bubbles.

I don’t have time to respond to every bit of silliness, conspiracy, and outright falsehoods on this site. And I certainly don’t owe that tremendous loser who has nothing better to do than tag me in random threads a second of my time. Donald Trump won the 2016 election Joe Biden won the 2020 election Grass is green Q was a hoax from the start Sky is blue There’s no evidence Ray Epps is a fed 1+1=2 90% of Americans would read what’s posted on this site and assume we’re all sniffing glue. Most voters are normies and do not act the way people here do. If there was a deep state trying to influence elections, the FBI would never side with the Dems Josh Allen is great
