I know hindsight is 20/20 and these games aren’t over, but the Devils sure would like to rewind to game 82 and played everyone against Washington, which would have assured Washington in the first round instead of Tampa Bay/Boston. Which would have almost also assured they wouldn’t be trailing 2-0 going back home for game 3. Painful lesson to learn.

Is it worth it to take away jobs from fringe players if they do away with kickoffs? That is a LOT of players who aren't needed. They should do away with punts too. This thing is beyond ridiculous and so far off the rails. I thought this investigation was supposed to be about Trump-Russia collusion in the 2016 election? But it’s painfully obvious that Mueller was hired to find ANYTHING on Trump. It doesn’t matter what it is, just as long as they can pin something on Trump to have him impeached. People see Allen as Manuel 2.0. I will trust what they do and if they draft Allen, I will give Allen the same benefit of the doubt I gave Manuel. But I fear that Allen will end up the same as Manuel. i think their guy is Rosen as it has been all along. Cleveland isn’t playing games and will take Darnold number one. The Bills will trade to two and take Rosen, and it might not be as costly as we think.

Tampa has been weak defensively and in goal for more than half the season now, but all that doesn’t matter cause starting on Thursday it’s how they play then that really counts. It’s only one game. It’s how the Cryers react to this drubbing that matters. Big question. I have seen teams never recover from a beating like this to start a series. We shall see.

I am not looking ahead at all, but Devils-Leafs would be an amazing second round series as it will bring up series past between the two teams. But NJ and Toronto have a LOT of work to do to even get there.
