  1. Some fans are reading too much into the wording here. We lost a bunch of guys. Of course we're in transition. If all we lost was the iconic duo of Poyer/Hyde, we'd be transitioning. But we lost quite a few other guys who overall contributed to who this team WAS. This by no means translates into "rebuilding," or not contending. It's a wait & see, but this team could actually be better than the banged-up team that took the eventual SB champs to the wire in the divisional.
  2. Sure. We can just pretend that Josh Allen isn't a generational, HOF QB so you can take your cheap shot.
  3. Tom Brady made them 2 of the "best slot WRs of all time." They were both LATE rounders, and one was a QB.
  4. I was talkin' about the Pats.
  5. Reminder: the most successful team in NFL history only prioritized the WR position ONCE, and didn't win a SB when they did that.
  6. I enjoyed this write-up. Thanks for posting. I think many of us are a little colored by the expectation coming in that we'd trade up in the 1st - either for Thomas, or even Odunze/Nabers. We didn't. Had I known that coming in, I'd be absolutely happy w/ this draft. This is the kind of draft a team that's going into the era of paying their top QB has. It's all about filling in positions of need w/ solid players, some of whom might excel and become standouts. There was some mockery of the fact that we got character/leadership guys, but man do I love that. And hard workers. I'm a Knicks fan, and the picks remind me of the kind of guys Thibodeau would want - scrappy, gritty, tough. I think we got 3 starters, and at least 6 guys who make the roster & contribute. I'm happy today.
  7. Coleman supposedly has an incredible work ethic. I think the Benjamin comparison can effectively end there.
  8. Feels like every guy we got can make the roster.
  9. I mean, why is the idea of drafting character guys & leaders worthy of mockery? I don't think they've sacrificed talent for that. And generally, SB winning teams are teams that have high character guys, and true leaders.
  10. Great post. It's great to have an elite WR corps. But the most successful team of the past 2+ decades NEVER did - with the exception of 1 year where they didn't win it all. Allen doesn't necessarily need stars. He makes stars.
  11. Beane is really focused on every need we have. Every pick so far has been very practical - no luxuries.
  12. How much college ball do you watch? How many names do you know?
  13. This guy has quite a story from what I've read. Inspiring.
  14. I think we all want another WR - and I agree we'll get one, likely in FA or via trade. But I like the strategy. Every pick is a need, and seems like a good fit. It's almost like we went in order of what our needs our from most pressing on down.
  15. So, just confirming: a bunch of fans who hadn't even heard his name before 10 minutes ago hate the pick?
  16. Getting some Earl Campbell vibes w/ the clips....
  17. I like his reaction. He's the anti-Gilmore.
  18. What other need? I'd agree w/ need one more WR - but we're also in the 4th round here.....
  19. Gotta believe that Beane has something in mind in terms of acquiring another vet WR. Which would be fine.
  20. I was expecting RB this or next round - seems like a good complement to Cook. I'm good.
  21. Might be better at this point. More bodies = more chances for success.
  22. Looking at some of Coleman's catches - I bet he snags that 60-yarder that Diggs missed.
  23. I don't know why some here think they know better. There is simply no comparison between what scouts do & what anyone on here could possibly do in terms of research & sheer time put in looking at all of these prospects. Some who were criticizing the Coleman pick probably saw one youtube video of him, if that.
