  1. It's all out there. The 2020 season & all of the success and statistical excellence, juxtaposed against the 1st 2 games this year...
  2. I'd actually say that if Allen plays great this week, we have to just accept that he's the awesomest.
  3. So, aren't you taking more of a 2-game sample, while others are basing their predictions on an entire season of play (2020)? Scientifically speaking, there is a much great probability that Allen is who he was last year, than who we've seen by mid-September this year.
  4. I'm feeling the start of a roll, like we had last year. The schedule is lining up very favorably for the Bills to put some distance between themselves and both Miami & NE, the 2 potential threats to the division title. The defense is really a revelation this season so far. We expected improvement, since the D was more of an offseason focus, but man do we have some playmakers now. Rosseau is off to an amazing start, and Epenesa is now the guy we all hoped we'd see w/ some development. Both are very disruptive, and along w/ Tre, Edmunds, Milano, Oliver et al., give our defense a real edge and tenacity. If Allen and the O can even get to 80% of where they were last year (likely), this team can compete w/ anyone.
  5. Anyone remember how the board felt after we lost to KC and TN last season? It's just so early. After so many years of the internet & so many sports shows on TV and radio, it has become very easy to recognize and identify hot takes. Concern about Allen in general is something I would file under that category, because it's been 2 games, and we won the last one by 35 points. If it's late October and we're still seeing the same thing, sure.
  6. I enjoy the Baker Mayfield commercials.
  7. This kind of hand-wringing after a 35-0 win is what we used to call a 1st world problem during the drought. Not saying it isn't okay to have some concern. But it kind of is.
  8. Allen is awesome. There are no style points in football. We won 35-0, he ran the offense.
  9. I suppose - but enough of the hype. They have him throwing 5-yard outs constantly. Pats fans online are already saying they have the better QB than the Jets...based on TODAY. That's how knowledgeable the fanbase is about football.
  10. It's supposed to be one of the best Oline's in the league. Jones is a game manager.
  11. Both guys are really impressive. It's what we needed - some real playmakers on D, who can pressure the offense consistently. NOW this team reminds me of the SB teams. Balanced on both sides.
  12. Rousseau was a great draft pick.
  13. Mac Jones is Jimmy G. The Pats coach their QB's to be as accurate as they are. Watching highlights from that game, they really protect Jones. He doesn't have to do anything close to what Lawrence, Wilson & the rest are asked to do.
  14. When we're up 35-0, and he played pretty well? Yeah - it's too much of an overreaction to be "frustrated" 2 games in.
  15. It could be tough if we keep holding Josh to the standard he set in 2020. This probably is a regression kind of year. But he's still doing things out there that most QB's can't do.
  16. This is what we all needed to see. Tough division opponent at their place, and we went in there and left zero doubt from the 1st minute. We're still among the NFL's elite.
  17. Does Allen look good enough for everyone now? We sounded like Pats fans in that 1st half.
  18. I travel quite a bit (or used to before the pandemic), and airports were always like that. Seeing someone wearing a Bills hat or T was like seeing family, and I'd always fall into a conversation right away with whoever it was, like we'd known each other for years. I guess people could say that other fanbases are like this too - but the shared experience of Bills fans is very unique, imo.
  19. True to an extent - but imo, Moss brings something that Singletary & Breida don't. He's just a tougher runner, and better for short yardage. I feel like Singletary needs to be in space to be the most effective. He's not our "run up the middle" guy. I felt like we really missed Moss on 4th and short last week.
  20. Tough loss for the Giants, but I thought Jones looked good. I'm rooting for him - pundits have been really hard on him w/ all of the hot takes & it's always nice when a player proves them wrong. Sloppy play on their side.
  21. I mean, the Red Sox have won 4 championships since 2004 - and their fans still go instant doom when the team loses. Especially to the Yankees. Some things become genetic. It will take a LOT of wins for Bills fans to fundamentally change their outlook (imo). We're more optimistic in general, but all it takes is a loss like this past Sunday for doubt to creep in & say, "hey, I've been here all along."
  22. Like others, there are certain things I stay away from. Especially now. Ironically - and this is in no way comparing one great season to what the Pats had - but I do kind of see the typical Pats fan perspective on hot-take nation now. Every time that team started slow, every pundit and opposing fan was ready to scream "overrated" and put some dirt on their coffin. Which of course they generally swept off pretty quickly. I stayed away from everything this past week, except this board. Some of the takes on this board were ludicrous, but in general, we have really knowledgeable & level-headed fans.
  23. Man, if we lose on Sunday, I won't be able to watch the national sports media again for at least a few months....
  24. At the risk of naming he who should not be named - Belichick & his teams have generally been slow starters, even during some of their better Brady years. Sorry. But it's true.
