How the name, Bills Mafia, was born
Royale with Cheese replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
They were superior soldiers fighting slaves to the death. That's awful. It would be like watching Canelo Alvarez get inside the ring and have him fight untrained Johnny Car Jacker until he was brain dead. You would sign up for that if you're Canelo? -

Its not falling for it. Its just the reality. Hollywood glamorizes a lot of awful things. Gladiator is one of the most successful films of all time. The Vikings is a major hit show. Sons of Anarchy was a major hit show. Etc…. -

Okay Karen. I never said these guys are great guys and admire them. I said I liked the name and bought into it. -

It started with Hollywood glamourizing it. They made the Mafia look cool. But I won't complain about it because I bought in and love the Mafia name. -

Bills 2023 Official Schedule
Royale with Cheese replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
Exactly. I think people still have the mindset that any tough team we face, we will lose and bank on beating the bad teams. This team is 46-18 since 2019! But if they are talking about 0-3 against those teams and not the first 3, my mistake. But still, just immediately thinking 0-3, especially when we've beaten the Chiefs two years in a row in the regular season. It's just being negative for the sake of being negative. -

If we start 0-3 then yes, McDermott deserves to be on the hot seat. -

0-3 and we suck. Only 6 teams since 1980 have made the playoffs starting 0-3. Newcam with that statement legitimately believes we aren't even a playoff team. -

What is more likely? 3-0 and or 0-3 in your mind? -

I think I've been here since 2017? Well: Got divorced Lost the family dog but adopted two others. Bought two homes and one I'm leasing out. Had back surgery. Promoted once in Jiu Jitsu and about to be promoted again. Got "promoted" at work. -

Which Bills players are “Make-It or Break-It” for 2023?
Royale with Cheese replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think we are going to start seeing a trend of a higher % of athletes staying successful longer. Not saying this is DaQuan but players are taking care of themselves today better, improved training/nutrition with "Sports Scientists", advancements in medicine/surgery and continued less contact in practice...we're going to see players last longer. Jerry Rice was the first real one I remember with eating very healthy and strong work ethic...he was good until he was 40. I see Von Miller the same way. Kobe Bryant was that in the NBA. It's not that players back then were more lazy, the just didn't have the education. Today's players are much more aware how to take care of their bodies and usually have professional help. I've seen diet plans of professional athletes and it's literally a science. If we extended Jones lets say for 2 more years, I wouldn't be upset...especially if he's still effective this early on this year. -
If that’s what Harty produces statistically but also makes the deep safety have to peak and take a step his way…big win for the Bills. I would think that Harty would benefit someone like Kincaid the most.
-
Yeah, it’s impossible for a player to have career years with new teams. What is everyone thinking? Jordan Poyer only had 2 INT’s in his career prior to coming into Buffalo. He was statistically proven to be worse than Corey Graham who he replaced. LOL for McDermott thinking Poyer would be able to replace Graham’s production. Stefon Diggs averaged about 75 catches and about 900 yards a season with MN. Is that what he’s averaging in Buffalo? I am not sure there is a more box score evaluator than you.

Za’Darius Smith traded to the Browns
Royale with Cheese replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall
You left out a 79 rating, 58% completion percentage, 6.5 average and 20 sacks behind a great OLine in 6 games. Is his contract set up where he gets more money if sacked? -

Are you going to say this every year? -
I feel the blitz is only effective against mediocre and below QB's. Almost all great QB's are good against the blitz. They usually recognize early and know how to counter it quickly. Mental processing speed is faster than any LB/Edge/Corner legs.
-
I understand that and not arguing against that. But I just am not a believer that a great OL will always stop a great DL. If that's the case, no reason invest in a DL to get after the QB because they will be rendered useless against a great OL. The difference was Mahomes. If you put lets say a mid level QB like a Derek Carr or Kirk Cousins....they aren't putting up 38 on Philly even behind KC's offensive line.
-
The Eagles DL was legendarily good with production. I'm not sure I would say the Chiefs offensive line was legendarily great last year. The Tampa Super Bowl, the Chiefs oline was manhandled because they had 3 backs ups against a stout DL. No QB would have been good there.
-
It was the right call. You don't even need to gain an inch, you just need to execute a simple QB/C exchange and the game is over. Not only that, we had plenty of time at the end of the game to at least tie and/or win it. Allen got too confident in his arm and then threw late over the middle....which is a big no no for a QB.
-
The Eagles had 80 sacks last year which I believe was 3rd all time. They bring heat and really get after the QB....just dominant up front. It still wasn't enough to win the Super Bowl and they gave up 38 to the Chiefs. If you have an elite QB, that trumps all. We have that and if given the right resources, we should be fine against any defense.
-
You have the most unrealistic expectations ever, that’s the problem. The average #4-#5 WR options typically will haul in roughly 35 receptions a season across the NFL. But when our guys do it…its poor.
