If Frazier returns, how much will your enthusism die?
Matt_In_NH replied to The Red King's topic in The Stadium Wall
None, I am a die hard and no matter what I think about the coaches or players I will be cheering them on every step of the way. I also think they can do this with Frazier which puts me in the minority. Continual growth is needed. Also the Bills have Josh Allen! -
It’s in the article

Bills now no longer have 2 fifths but one fifth and one sixth
Matt_In_NH replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
Can you provide more context? I know it is easy to look at a draft pick like say Ed Oliver and now say he should have drafted Jeff Simmons. But the analysis that shows he is or is not a good GM needs to be done by comparing against his peers. The Bills have a very large percentage of draft picks since Beane took over on the team and the team is widely regarded as one of the better rosters. I am willing to listen to an argument that says something else but what is it? -

How did the Patriots maintain a top team for 17 years?
Matt_In_NH replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think when it comes to offense they were more balanced and favored less volatility in play design and execution vs trying to be spectacular all the time even when you are. -
His contract has a bit of a balloon salary in 2024 but for a trade, his 2023 number is not awful, I wonder if there is a potential trade out there. Definitely not the Bills but someone could trade and commit to 15 million-ish for 2023 and they could waive him after for a 2.7M dead cap hit. Or possibly extend.

That was not the best look

Saquon Barkley is Still a Media Favorite to the Bills
Matt_In_NH replied to JackKemp's topic in The Stadium Wall
I just dont see them committing sizeable capital to RB, not that he would not help, there are a lot of holes and not enough money. -
Josh needs to rest his already healed, uninjured elbow.

Was he at his retirement party?

I don’t think this is a fair analogy. Home runs is one small simple thing. Playing qb is completely different, the qb is more than anything the position most responsible for team success in any sport. Allen leads the league in air yards and turnovers and at the bottom in RAC. Placement pace and taking the easy options can improve those things. I know it’s not cool to suggest Allen should improve in some areas but I feel that way. I also think he is the greatest thing that has happened to this franchise in a generation. I just think there is something to the thought that Allen tries to do too much too often. He does not need to. Maybe the right personality at coordinator would be able to influence that.

Hines gets like 4.8M and has no dead cap. He could easily be a cap casualty, I dont think the Bills can afford a 4.8M kick returner. With the cap situation I see Cook, a vet on a min deal such as Duke Johnson and a late rounder/UDFA, possibly another low priced vet.

How many teams can Singletary start on

That works both ways, the market value thing is just not very accurate. -

I don't see the Bills paying Hines 4.8 million next year and I dont see them paying Singletary 5.5M or anywhere near it. Not saying they are not worth that but decisions have to be made. I think you will see a late round or UFA and a vet like Duke on a min deal along with Cook. -

Agree with everything but the bolded. He has like the highest fumble rates in the league. -
Every off season there are threads where people try to find parallels to the 90's teams. Who really wants that to repeat itself? History does not have to repeat itself, there are countless ways good teams go through their lifecycle and just because you remember one from 30 years ago, it has zero bearing on any current one. I live in NE and here everyone is alwasy thinking they have the next Brady, last year it was Mac, this year it was Zappe coming off the bench after an injury like Brady did. Enjoy the ride is what I say....part of sports is it is unpredictable, there are no guarantees but I will take my chances with 17. Not saying the OL can not be improved but what about the running game was not decent? The only thing I can say is they don't do it enough, it is very successful when they actually run. I think they should run more but this team has scored the most points the last three years so it is hard to argue it matters.

Both of those were within 24 hours of the game for one and sample size of two means very little
