Bottom line for me is that this woman receive justice in this situation. Is airing the case playing to the court of public opinion on twitter an effective approach? *shrugs* for me it came off as unprofessional

in this situation I think that was Beane attempting to take the high road to not cause araiza more damage. Admittedly the bar is set extremely low. Araiza was being cut and is a defendant in a civil suit of this sort already. I'll have to listen to the presser again. But was the word "distraction" used by Beane? I think they did what had to be done to avoid this distraction from impeding the season. And clearly the lawsuit was what closed the deal as far as the Bills were concerned. I want to preface my post by admitting I am a Buffalo Bills homer. I will choose to take their word over any and all conjecture and spin we fanbase can come up with. Having said that I think that the organizational failure would have been to sit on this an fester and distract rather than take decisive action when they knew more post lawsuit filing. I thought the bolded was a very good take. It sounds very plausible to me. Araiza clearly doesnt want to jeopardize his chance of being drafted by an NFL team. So his camp spun this in their favor of course. Could the Bills have known of the seriousness of the allegations before this lawsuit occurred? It sounds like yes possibly. But what I DO know is if the Bills had any inkling as to how serious this would have all become he would have never been on their draft board come draft day in the first place. The Bills may have not vetted this guy properly but they did better when they knew better. That to me is much more important. I really appreciated the youtube clip @Lost posted just up thread. Made a Lot of sense in regards to this entire situation I am ready to move on and know that the Bills WILL vet their draft boards candidates with greater scrutiny in the future. It was a very tough lesson they learned from araiza . Let's hope something like this never happens again!

Gosh that is something I'd never considered. I guess for me I would prefer just think they were trying to handle it in the fairest way possible. Matt Araiza would have been great in a bills uniform but for all this. Fan favorite punt deity to cut. Its a terrible look for araiza mostly. And at the same time, (Not trying to stifle conversation) I am less interested right now in all the backstory and what all the details are....Im just taking a sigh of relief...at least now we have a finite answer araiza is gone. I understand all the speculation and how it shows in effect how mistakes may have happened. But moreso Im just tired of thinking about it. lol This whole debacle has been stressful for us as fans. my case went before the grand jury where i testified. Then the case was settled so I wouldn't have to testify and face my attacker. Perp was found guilty of Felony charges. no monetary reward. I'm adding this anecdotal info to the thread to unfortunately be qualified to speak on the victim side of this. I do hope this woman is strong enough to face her trauma and heal asap. The money would help so Yes I'd be a proponent of that.

bueno dias 2bd. LeGoatski an accurate timeline is lacking and at question right now. Crucial questions we don't know the exact truth. On the side of araiza but also the Bills organization. It would dispel a Lot of the rhetoric flowing in the chat. Im stillllll waiting for firm answers to questions regarding if the Bills knew of this debacle before he was drafted (I think not but i could be wrong). It was floated out there yesterday that maybe the Bills were aware but decided the charges wouldnt stick, fly whatever so the reward was worth the risk. We have rhetoric out the ying yang but actual facts not so much. We have to let this play out in the courts. And trust that the Bills will do what is IN THE BEST INTEREST OF THE BUFFALO BILLS...
