The band had 31 dates scheduled this year, starting with an Aug. 15 show in Bethel Woods, N.Y., and ending with a show in Anaheim, Calif., on Nov. 8, according to Pollstar. The band was scheduled to perform in Syracuse at the State Fair’s Suburban Park stage on Aug. 21, and the Seneca Allegany Resort & Casinos in Salamanca on Aug. 30. The band’s website now lists no tour dates. Instead, it has this note: “Dear Steve Miller Band fans, You make music with your instincts You live your life by your instincts Always trust your instincts … The Steve Miller Band has cancelled all of our upcoming tour dates. The combination of extreme heat, unpredictable flooding, tornadoes, hurricanes and massive forest fires make these risks for you our audience, the band and the crew unacceptable. So … You can blame it on the weather ... The tour is cancelled. Don’t know where, don’t know when … We hope to see you all again.
