  1. That's the thing... He isn't just a high motor guy. He became a starter because of his football IQ. There are two positions were I find IQ to be more important than everything else. One is obviously QB... The other is MLB. He makes others around him better by putting them in position to make plays. So yes he may be slow to a location every once in awhile... But he will also change the play call and make sure that the defense as a whole will be put in a position to get the stop. Just look at what we had with Rex Ryan... He had a hugely talented team but that team had no we're near the IQ as McDermotts team. We will add athletic players in the draft but we currently have a ton of holes and not much money... So a player like Compton would be a smart addition. That doesn't mean we are desperate at the position and we don't have to break the bank.
  2. Guy is probably the smartest guy on the field at all times. He really puts in work I'm the film room. Knows how to diagnose a defense perfectly and makes great audibles. He is a true QB of the defense. Not only his his football IQ high but he is a great leader and locker room presence. Sure athletically and size he is not ideal... But I'm comfortable with Compton leading the defense. As long as we have athletic players around him. Compton always knows were to be on the field... Sure there will be times when he can't get to the location on time but I'll gladly add a player like him who gives 110% effort on every play and knows what's coming so we can audible to a correct defensive play call. He is a typical McDermott guy... Especially being a captain. Sean would trust him to call the plays for his defense
  3. Is it in response to Murphy tho? Could be but doesn't mean it is... Definitely a good sign tho
  4. He is very limited athletically... Not very fast. He will be chasing a lot of guys and not being able to catch them. Not good in coverage. With that being said he has tremendous work ethic. He is a try hard. Captain with the Redskins. He is a tremendous leader and a great lockeroom presence. His best quality is his work in the film room... Kid is extremely smart and can diagnose an offense. He always knows were to be but sometimes doesn't have the speed to get their in time. I think he would be a good QB of the defense if we surround him with Athletic OLBs who can help cover areas that he can not get to.
  5. Cameron Fleming. I still think it's Will Compton but Fleming would make sense as well.
  6. I had something similar to me as a kid. I was on crutches and took me an entire summer for it to get better. And even then it was still never the same after. I sucked at kickball after that
  7. Cam Fleming could be a possibility as well. Was teammates at Stanford. We have a need at RT. Trent Murphy turned down Patriots and maybe Fleming will do the same.
  8. Think it's Will Compton. Trent Murphy took Compton on a hunting trip not too long ago. Seem to be good friends. And with Preston's news coming out today I'd be willing Bills took Preston's offer and gave it to Compton
  9. I think this could be it as well. More likely. Played same side of ball with Trent so they are probably better fans. Actually played with Trent (Pryor only played with Redskins when Murphy missed the whole year). This news comes out After Brown accepted Bengals offer over ours Just looked it up Murphy took Compton on a hunting trip so it's definitely possible they would become roommates. They seem very close.
  10. I like this move. We now have an elite elusive RB with McCoy, power backup RB with Ivory, and a pass catcher like Cadet as our #3. We cover all basis... They all compliment each other nicely
  11. Jaron Brown or Terrell Pryor. Both have size and super fast.
  12. Yeah... Not exactly the type of reciever we need but he is a player so I'd be happy to have him.
  13. Just scrolled through his Instagram... He may be my new favorite Bill. He is such a bad ass
  14. He cost just 5 million dollars... The same price as Chase Daniel... That is a freaking steal.
  15. Jaron Brown 6'2 ran a 4.29 40 at his proday
  16. Except no one (outside of Bills fans) expected Tyrod would get a starting job much before preseason. Came a lot cheaper than McCarron will.
  17. ESPN is reporting 3 years 21 million. NFL Network is reporting 30 million. My guess is ESPN is right but bonuses can get it up to 30
  18. Well so isn't Aaron Schoebel. But i see Chris Kelsay too not in terms of style of play but body type. Both extremely tall DE both over 6'4, both play around 260 pounds, and most importantly they both seem to have that freakish arm span
  19. So we have signed 4 free agents... All of them on defensive side of the ball.
  20. Julian Stanford??? That's a new one
  21. Then we have a predicament on our hand... With McCarron and whoever the Rookie is. Do we trade McCarron/ let him go and hope we were right on the draft pick? Or do we just keep a top 5 rookie QB on the bench. Siemien is just a better fit for what we are trying to do. To be honest... I want our rookie QB to start day 1 and just have an experienced backup at the ready.
  22. Sure he does but for a guy that will only start a handful of games tops... Potential doesn't matter that much. The rookie will have all the potential. Plus one will be about 6-8 million dollars cheaper... At least.
  23. Yeah I heard that he was seen talking to Terrance Gray on NFL Network at the proday.
