  1. Sometimes it’s just a good talking point. Like my moms family were all sports fans. Even though I stopped playing after a while it can be a fun thing to talk about instead of politics, religion, etc...
  2. I thought it might get seen as an EJ Manuel isn’t done yet thread from some lol. But no in all seriousness I was a guy that was a late bloomer in life. This as well with understanding life can beat you down in many ways at times So as I said I love those kind of redemption stories
  3. I know Doug Flutie is a polarizing figure on these boards but I thought it was cool in the 98 season he was already in his mid 30s when he came into arguably his best years. Same with Vinny Testaverde that year with the Jets. Was in his mid 30s and a journeyman QB that finally came into his own. Heck I even remember Steve DeBerg that year being resigned at age 44 with the Falcons as that was the trend at the time. Is today’s NFL built for that at all? I know the question might seem a bit out there but as I get older I love redemption stories
  4. Actually where I went to school you’d have found the sports teams were where it was at if you were into drinking and other drug use lol The goalie of the soccer team used to joke if they started drug testing all of us there’d be only one player left!
  5. The perfect song to sing along too while driving with dead bodies in your trunk lol. I do like it though
  6. This was at least 5 years ago when he went. Too add more fuel to his fire his flight got delayed home for at least 3 hours ?
  7. I’ve only been there once but I remember it fondly. Its funny though my one friend took his kids there because they wanted to go. He absolutely loathed every second of it whatever reason lol I guess it’s subjective?
  8. I've been listening to The Cars a bit as of late: Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Stranger Things 3:
  9. Lol. I think though before steroids really took off in the sport that build wasn't uncommon. I was at work so I didn't catch any of the opener. When I saw Mets win 1-0 I figured lack of fans had something to do with the low score. But it looks like Jake did his thing ? At least imo anyway it'll be strange following baseball this year
  10. Same here. I thought all the clubs in high school seemed very cliquey at the time.
  11. Says the guy that probably still rocks his varsity jacket ?
  12. Ironically when I graduated high school I lost a lot of weight (about 60 lbs) and used to run in 5k’s. Typically I’d finish somewhere in the middle of all the runners. I still enjoy running if my muscles don’t get too sore afterwards
  13. Perhaps this isn’t a fair judgment but my guess would be most members did? Sometimes when I read the posts on the Bills a lot of posters are very knowledgeable about the X’s and O’s of the game. Imo, that comes from playing football on a competitive level. I get the arguments against PFF in that regard. I didn’t play sports at all in high school with the school. The main reasons were I was out of shape and unathletic at the time, transportation woulda been an issue with both my parents working, and well I really didn’t like most of the student population lol. It was a small catholic high school. Anyone else?
  14. You had sex recently?
  15. In pronunciation of name only!
  16. Lol. I admit I can be petty like that as well. Not liking certain things, places, schools, music, movies, or sports teams because they remind me of somebody I don't like. 1985 Yankees baseball. Donnie Baseball just hits a dramatic walk-off run. And notice how many hard core Yankee fans there are sitting where the home run landed. A loyal fan base lol.
  17. I remember years and years back I found out one of my relatives as well as a co-worker were both Mets fans who grew up in the Bronx. And I'm just like how the hell does that happen lol? Obviously liking the Mets I wasn't being judgmental at all, I thought it was cool! My relative explained the part of the Bronx they grew up by the Throgs Neck Bridge was about equal distance to Yankee and Shea Stadium, and at the time Shea was a little safer to go to and cheaper. The other guy I think just likes to be a contrarian kinda like me! I remember reading this article on Doug Marrone as well a long time ago when he was the Bills coach: https://www.syracuse.com/orangefootball/2010/12/baseball_heart_football_body_d.html It's been so long I thought I dreamt it up! But it got explained in it he and Michael Kay both grew up in the same area in the Bronx surrounded by Mets fans who they had to defend their "territory" from. Marrone's grandfather worked as an usher at Yankee Stadium. It just goes to show me NYC will just like whosever trendier at the moment
  18. All depends on the person I guess. To me it’d remind me of when you can actually see cigarette ads.
  19. Lol But kidding aside there’s definitely certain things people hold more dear/you can’t price tags on. The Marlboro ad is cool as well. I think if the OP tried hard enough he can find a Bills fan willing to pay out some serious $$$ for it
  20. For obvious reasons this song wouldn't make sense during a pandemic! Still this was written back in the days you could still walk up to a business and fill out paper applications versus all applications being online
  21. Agreed. I've not made the best decisions with my life a lot of times but one of the few things I pat myself on the back for is never joining Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc... I have no desire to get sucked up into that cesspool which is now worse then ever
  22. I like Billy Buffalo
  23. Lol surprised no one posted yet if this counts. The Talking Proud song as well I’m sure some would remember fondly.
  24. Prodigy- Smack My B word Up Nirvana- Smells Like Teen Spirit (some might disagree but I just see that song as being very that grunge era vs 2020)
