Anything you look back on fondly that hasn’t aged well?

I still remember this commercial! But yes sadly newspapers I actually liked following all sports standings on a paper versus the Internet -
Bills Defining Moments The 2015 Season
Another Fan replied to corta765's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would add as well 2015 was the year The Four Falls of Buffalo premiered on ESPN. While I was getting to the point the 90's nostalgia was all but dead in me, I thought that special was done well and it put a little battery in my back as a fan. Unfortunately the next week was the loss to the Eagles which more or less cancelled the playoffs. Then an embarrassing loss to Washington where even Murphy & Kelso were calling out the team for quitting. But beating the Cowboys/Jets ended the year on a slight high note. Like Rex is worth another year lol -
Bills Defining Moments The 2015 Season
Another Fan replied to corta765's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Couple things that stand out to me about that year: I remember Week 2 against the Patriots the fans tried to set a Book of World Records for crowd noise. The day turned to be a fail in more ways than one. It was great to finally beat the Titans. The Bills lost like 10 prior games or something like that, often in times in heart breaking fashion I kind of regret it now but it was like really really fun at the time to laugh at giddy Jets fans that last day of the season. Unfortunately though that helped the Steelers get in the playoffs. Whenever people talked about the importance in the Wonderlic score in the NFL I will always point out the last game of the year against the Jets. In arguably the biggest game/drive of his life Ryan Fitzpatrick got outsmarted by Leodis McKelvin. I still think Ryan had like the highest reported score on it? It's enough for me to conclude the test is BS. I still enjoyed beating the Cowboys that year even though the game was meaningless. Hey it improved the all time standings against them LOL. In the end it was a disappointing year over all but it did have some fun moments -

I think someone mentioned it before but MTV. It's 40th anniversary is actually today but it's been irrelevant in my life the past 20 years. I'd add TV as well as most series I watch are on Amazon/Netflix/Hulu, etc... While it makes me sound like a spoiled kid I realize I don't have much attention span anymore for commercials -
As a kid I loved the DARE program in school. It was cool to me hearing a cop talk about all the dangers in drugs, just say no….. He was a cool guy from what I recall. I’ll just leave it as I think the program was a bust overall looking back. But i still think fondly of it. Anyone could relate?

The last song on A Wizard A True Star. It used to be played at the end of Indian games. One of his best but not necessarily viewed as a classic song

Yes it’s a favorite. To be fair Im sure there’s a number of Bills fans as well that would follow Josh Allen driving and have him autograph their you know what as Paul alluded…. Well you’ve seen the movie 🤣

As a kid growing up in the 90s Tiffani Thiessen was mine and pretty standard I think for boys then. But for someone lesser known it was Kassie DePaiva from Days of Our Lives as I got older. Soaps weren’t exactly my thing but she was pretty enough to notice channel surfing. If her character came on I’d watch. How about yours?

Team should still be greatful to the Bengals. If Buffalo don’t make the playoffs in 2017, I think 2018 and beyond would have played out very differently. For one thing that playoff game in 17 I think showed Tyrod definitely wasn’t a long term solution for growth. Nothing personal, just saying. Not so sure they’d of drafted a QB that year otherwise. To sum it up it was a lot easier for McDerrmott to sell The Process after breaking the drought his first year coaching versus if he hadn’t.

I see no need to apologize for winning the division at only 85 games per say. I’m sure the team has been unlucky more often than not over the years that way. Yeah assuming starting pitching stays healthy how can you not like the Mets in a best of 5 with Jake.

Die Hard With A Vengeance. It's easily my favorite one in the series. In the opening shot there's a business that has a Back To School Sale sign on it. Plus Summer In The City is the opening song. The banter between McClane and Samuel Jackson in that movie is top notch

@Gugny@SinceThe70s I caught the game from the 7th inning on today at the gym. Needless to say I don't need to say what happened. Does Cohen just eat Diaz's contract if he keeps showing untrustworthy?

People in general as I'm often uncomfortable in social situations. I've had one for dogs as well since I was little. I think it stemmed from living next door to a mean German Shepard that was always barking violently in the backyard more often than not and at me a good number of times. Wasn't just me, our mailman at the time said it tried to bite him a few times as it got older. A few weeks ago a dog jumped all over me walking and I just let it without engaging with him. It's like I still never know kind of thing

My mom might have done this as well when I was younger but mothers who excessively talk about their sons and how often great they are. They usually end up being a-holes once I actually meet them

Good insights. Yeah misterbluesky had a cousin who pitched for the Mets in the late 70s/early 80s. I forgot his name. I still recall among other stories him telling me his son bought him a Seaver jersey for either his birthday or Father’s Day... he was so moved by that he framed it. While some guys struggle in New York their first year my gut now says the Lindor contract won’t be a good one. An article where analytics nerds question him over the long haul as well https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nj.com/mets/2021/06/why-struggles-by-mets-francisco-lindor-might-be-more-than-just-a-2021-slump.html%3foutputType=amp I’ll admit though at the time of the deal I thought it wasn’t necessary a bad move. Yes the money was extremely absurd but it signaled a change in culture so to speak. You know with prior owners that contract would have never happened.

@Gugny @SinceThe70s I'm happy you guys still keep the thread alive. I know for years this thread is was kept me interested in the games. I hope everything is okay with Misterbluesky. I mean he bleed blue and orange. A fave poster of mine on other stuff too. I kind of remember it sounded like he had some health concerns? I hadn't been feeling the games that much this year but I caught some of this weekend's action. Of course I tuned into the inning DeGrom's 31 inning scoreless streak came to an end. But hey the guys won Saturday.... they always seemed to find ways prior to waste his starts. The only thing I can say about him that shows he is human is his pickup move too 1st isn't the strongest. Well based on yesterdays first inning anyway. Wheeler had a strong outing. I think it was brought up earlier in the thread but it seems he got it together. Does Rojas do weekly segments on the WFAN? I remember the Mets managers did with Mike and The Dog then just Mike. Mike and the Mad Dog were arrogant especially Mike but at least it was sports reporting. I'm just gonna say I don't listen to that station anymore

All that time to yourself then would explain why your post count is so high on this site after the old BBMB. Next time... -
Or I guess Highmark Stadium as it's called these days. Something of a LAMP post but I was in the Buffalo/Niagara area not that long ago and wanted to drive by the stadium. A lifelong out of town fan here. I have been to the stadium before but the adreline before a game starts takes away from appreciating the scenery. I know some may frequent the Bills store there but there was something about it the quiet I really loved this time of year. I've never been the most fond of people so I like quiet places. The Buffalo botanical gardens were very nice for the same reason besides the nice exhibits. An additional bonus was seeing the 2020 AFC East Championship on the display screen in front of the stadium. It's a source of pride even if not a Super Bowl banner.....

Carl Nassib Announces He is Gay
Another Fan replied to aristocrat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Very happy for him. Everybody should get to live comfortably with who they are without judgment. But I'll be honest I hadn't heard of or can't remember him before this headline -
I remember reading this a teenager and it still holds for some laughs some almost 20 years later. From Maddox the angry Pirate. A very cynical and satirical piece on politicians on abortion. I emphasize the word satirical here!!! http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=regressive He's against abortion but pro killing babies lol
