  1. Or wrist watch still? I don't wear either. But occasionally there's a place I'll go that doesn't want you to take out your cell phone. I haven't worn one since high school. Phones kind of too me for the most part defeated the purpose of seeing what time it is
  2. Cool/interesting topic. My personality even before covid hit definitely slants to being a loner. If I was a season ticket holder I definitely think I could enjoy a few games going solo. All 8 though and the playoffs? I could probably do it but I think even I would want a certain amount of camaraderie present to feel I get the most of it
  3. Cant go wrong with Norma Arnold or Peg Bundy. But Edith deserves some mention
  4. I think as well nobody with a strong enough personality in the Browns management/coaching staff to shut him down. The team had a competent back up in Keenum whose now a Bill.
  5. Probably neutral I do like hearing other fanbases opinion of him. From the perspective of the non emotionally invested kind of thing
  6. Beltran is like a rash that somehow doesn’t go away. LOL But I guess there’s the aspect of if your looking for sports purity the Bills got a very generous call in that Colts game the year the drought broke. That 2 point conversion
  7. I hear ya. But I still thought it was pretty cool
  8. I was texting a friend yesterday and I could see he read my texts. He always does and responds. But it seems most people I think don't? I mean personally I don't have that option on. Nobody needs to know I read your messages if I don't feel like responding at that moment or at all.
  9. You didn't mention the statue lol How much would you say attend on a weeknight? When I was a kid it was always weekends if my dad took me to see a game.
  10. For what you wrote in the last paragraph going into 2012 was the year I had the most expectations during the drought years. Heck, even before last year really. Thinking Fitz struggled because he was hurt, Freddie was out. Then signing Mario Williams and getting a new defensive coordinator. Like Giailey built a culture where guys wanted to play in Buffalo. I mean I guess maybe me being a more see the big picture kind of thing as I got older I could have seen depth was an issue. But I have the feeling 10 long years later now the team will ride that ship/make it right
  11. I dont recall super soaker wars! But yeah now that you say that the last day of the school year in elementary school was devoted fully to some sort of activity like kickball outside. Followed by ice cream afterwards and that was it for the school year. Its probably still in my mind what I expect life to be in terms of happiness!
  12. Its stuff thats becoming even more and more a distant memory for me but I've been thinking about it a bit recently. Kickball and touch football were big where I went too school. Except in like 6th grade when the football rolled out into the highway so that got shut down after that. More toward the end of middle school it was just kids BS ing and physical activity stopped. Now that I type this I remember this fight this kid Vinny was going on all morning about it but landed one shove to the chest and that was the end of it. High school physical activity more or less stopped. my best friend and I used to walk around the school though and call it BS laps. Pretty much doing just that
  13. Glad the franchise seems to be embracing it's history more these days. Only statue I have a selfie of me with is the Rocky Balboa one years back. Surprised they let me climb on it 😆 This one would be a good one to have some day
  14. Well you know how I feel about Rutgers football and their spending so it's only fair I feel the same way about a team I root for. I was texting a friend last night out in Cali about the Bills and he told me that area went through something like that with the Sacramento Kings as well https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/sacramento-silliness-once-again-taxpayers-foot-the-bill-for-a-new-arena/2012/03/11/gIQARilp5R_story.html There's other stuff online about it. It's why in getting to my advanced age sports seem less and less fun and more boring
  15. Kershaw I dont really know enough about to have strong feelings on way or another But I mean I get what you're saying. My hope is within the next few years managers are going to see how ridiculous it is to base analytics as gospel for everything versus the human element/emotions/drive, what not. To me an ideal manager today in baseball is someone who respects statistics but isn't a slave to it.
  16. New Jersey Devils 1995, 2000, and 2003. Got close in 2001 and 2012. I mean I say this with something of an asterisk as I was never that big of a hockey fan. I had a Devils apex jacket as a kid but never felt emotionally tied to them
  17. Stay classy Yankee fans
  18. I have no qualms criticizing or goofing on the Mets at times..... with that said Gary/Ronnie/Keith are the best in the biz at the broadcasts. Insightful commentary without being homers.
  19. @Gugny@SinceThe70s Well good start so far. I think the Mets might have the best opening day record all-time? It's the rest of the year lol. Do you guys do the Apple TV? Someone at work was telling me about it yesterday. I don't have it presently. Don't know the deal with it. Are most Mets games being shown on it this year?
  20. Yeah like the Edert kid from St Pete’s. North Carolina seemed to put forth the perfect game plan to shut him down. If he thinks he’s gonna all of a sudden be a star in a major program I think he may be kidding himself. Granted I don’t really have a college team I like or got into that whole scene. But if I were to watch it games like St Peters vs Monmouth on a local basis interest me more than Duke vs UNC. Thats just me though 😅
  21. From a local standpoint it was a very intriguing story. I usually don’t watch college hoops all that much on a broader scale. But it seems the team is all but breaking up. Holloway took a coaching job with Seton Hall and 3 other players are transferring https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/33676088/saint-peter-star-trio-daryl-banks-matthew-lee-doug-edert-enter-transfer-portal?platform=amp I mean I get it. Holloway went to Seton Hall and that’s probably his dream coaching job. The other three players can get bigger name recognition and don’t want to adapt to a new coach. But I mean the grass isn’t always greener per say. Why not build a foundation for that program going forward? Holloway coulda been king at St. Peter’s over time. Since there’s a lot of college hoops fans on the board be interested to hear thoughts.
  22. Since it’s rather clear how the OP feels, funniest post I’ve seen here all year and possibly beyond.
  23. There's no place like home
  24. Same here. I do enjoy the occasional drive into Staten Island. Some good parks there with some beautiful views that are underrated imo. I've driven into Brooklyn for the Botanical Gardens and Brooklyn Museum not that long ago. But yeah Manhattan itself I haven't been to before the pandemic. The last time was maybe 4 years ago I went to the Museum of Natural History. Too many people to take it and enjoy it. Plus it being a pain to get there despite it being relatively close.
