  1. @ExWNYer @Gugny @SinceThe70s I watched the highlights this weekend. All I could say is it's like bizarre to me this team is a Buck coached team. The mental image of him I had prior to this year was fundamentally sound baseball were his teams bread and butter. And if you made errors in the field like the team did this weekend he'd sit you down to make an example. I think I recall even Mike Francesa telling stories about him and his time with the Yankees that he drove the team nuts with his micromanaging the smallest of details like shoelaces. Perhaps he's just at a point where he's burnt out giving as much as he did in his life to the game.
  2. I hear you. Which leads me to think Chan Gailey was a genius when it came to just offense.
  3. Holds up even better today. Yacht rock radio plays him quite a bit
  4. Your avatars protege was fond of them
  5. Not really that popular or stuff I participated in summers in New Jersey. My favorite memory came about a story I heard about our old neighbor Tony. He was an old school Italian guy. The township had concerts they put together out of a local car dealership. Like usually the mayor and his entourage would show up. To which Tony went one time to call the mayor a jerk to his face and had to get pulled away from him. I laugh hysterically as I type this. I miss that guy
  6. Karlos Williiams was the truth
  7. Rex Ryan was a good hire EJ Manuel was the right pick at the time The 2012 Bills were going to win at least 10 games CJ Spiller would be the RB of the future
  8. @Gugny. @ExWNYer At least you got to see a win. I went to yesterday's game. First time in about 8 years I made the trek out to Citifield. Drove up to North Jersey and connected via PATH trains. A long story short with my experience some good nostalgia and some sadness of how things aren't what they are. The game itself: I cant say I like Adam Wainwright but that is impressive imo he's almost 42 and stayed with the Cardinals so long. Mark Canha had a brutal day. 0 for 3 with grounding into a double play and missing a foul ball pop up which didn't go as an error. The woman behind me said Canha Can't which was actually kinda funny. Big Dan I think struck out to end the bottom of the 8th. At least 1/2 the crowd cleared out at that point which showed to me fans have no faith that the team will or can come back. Even against the Cardinals. But yeah still cool as a Mets fan to schlep out there every once in a while or every few years.
  9. Absolutely But I do like Shannen Doherty. What's she's going through now is very sad
  10. So true I watched enough of that show to know who the main characters were. Again similar to Kassie DePaiva, Tiffani Thiessen was easily the main draw for me. Her character was supposed to be from Buffalo as well I think lol. I never liked the Kelly Taylor character though
  11. This is where I can’t stand the multi million dollar deals. I’d say after tonight Lindor should be benched. Send a message as well. The strikeout in the 8th inning was inexcusable. But then there’s a matter of You know you’re paying him so much money to be not playing thing. But I agree that kind of salary warrants a generational like player not this. Theres a silver lining at least about Scherzer and Verlander. Aaron Rodgers is age wise right in the middle of the 2. I bet the Jets fans that like the Mets will be more reluctant to be confident in him as a result of Scherzer and Verlander.
  12. I'm thinking even if Diggs does really want out, he's doing nothing to help himself here. This would be the 2nd team he's pulled this with... I would think teams wouldn't go near him. But then again what do I know
  13. In the 90s I liked the Eagles a lot because their sworn nemesis was the Cowboys. I still recall fondly the 4th and 1 stop of the The Cowboys at their own 29 yard line in 95' at Philly. But yeah today I guess I'd say the Lions
  14. I could tell you WFAN Sports radio AM 660 in NY/NJ sucks now IMO. Growing up I'd listen to it a bit. 1450 AM was a good station for a while in central NJ but I believed it turned into some Fox News conglomerate for a while now.
  15. @Gugny @ExWNYer Cohen doesn't have to be Steinbrenner but it would be nice to feel the team has a certain amount of urgency/standards. I wouldn't mind Cohen nagging at the team every now and then. How I see it is my boss harps on me at least a few times a day to get things done or to follow up with me to ensure things get done. And I make a hell of lot less money than these ball players. Buck saying he's proud of his players dont cut it with me. I mean yeah maybe it's different behind the scenes but the vibes I get are it is not. I'll still follow the team because I enjoy engaging with you guys here and family and friends and what not but as far as being emotionally invested in this team. Hell no
  16. Well sometimes those 30 by 30 sports shows they tend to over dramatize it a little 😅
  17. @SinceThe70s @Gugny That post pretty much sums it up What I’m surprised at though is Buck. Before this year he always very much gave me the impression he is a tough man you do not want to mess with. But the other night in his press conference he said we a bit when referring to the line ups put out. Me kind of thinks he only has a certain amount of say on the on field product
  18. Every damn day of late feels like I walk into a soap opera where I work. And well imo the whole “Josh Britt” stuff has a soap opera feel to it. I never really followed soap operas but I will admit to really liking Kassie De Paiva a lot. A former soap actress. Very beautiful and good actress. Funny personality in real life interviews as well. Had leukemia but seems to be doing OK.
  19. When I went to the Buffalo history museum I was disappointed there was no mention of Slick Rick
  20. When I went to Buffalo a few years ago I had to try it. I didn’t think it was bad per say but average NJ pizza I thought was a lot better
  21. I agree. I thought it was kind of funny and cute to an extent during the drought. Like our team is lousy but we still know how to have fun. But nowadays now and most Bills mafia antics strike me as stupid
  22. I’ll admit I definitely would get a little skeptical of someone’s character if they like the Chiefs now per say. I might question how loyal the person is. But yeah that sounds silly to not hire someone just because they like the Dolphins. Assuming they are a good fit otherwise
  23. I’m from New Jersey and never got into Springsteen, Bon Jovi, the Sopranos, and the shore to some extent. Heck I root against Rutgers football more often than not…. Stuff considered very NJ by many. Are there things considered very Buffalo you don’t care for? I guess if you use this site the Bills aren’t one of them. But I never seek out eating wings. The Goo Goo Dolls I tried but couldn’t get into their music
  24. I’m not sure they recognize it but one of my fave old school places/shops in the world https://m.yelp.com/biz/plainfield-donut-shop-plainfield
  25. I like there’s not as much hype around the team this offseason which is a big plus imo. That and well anything can happen but I thought these 3 events really drained/ burned out the team over the long haul: The Topps shooting, the 7 foot snowstorm, and then Hamlin. I don’t think we’ll see anything like that this year On the negative side the team gives off the impression they need harder coaching than presently. The whole Josh & Diggs relationship I feel can explode at any minute when they start practicing again
