Happy Belated New Year guys.  The last Mets thread which went on for years on the site gave me some warning the thread was old about revising it.  And you know maybe I thought it was time for a new thread.

I've heard some fans upset that Cohen/Stearns didn't do more this offseason (notably WFAN's Joe Benigno) but I think we saw last year spending money won't automatically by a World Series.  Still the Stearns/Mendoza combination isbn doing much to excite me at the moment.

I think 70s posted this on the old thread

I enjoy playing it even though if I'm lucky I only score about what the average is on the site.  My favorite answer on that was Joe McEwing or Super Joe when it asked for someone who started at short stop and center field.  Loved that guy when I was younger but he was the player in pro sports to make me realize why some guys are just part time players.

Why do people dislike the Ravens?  I feel like they have almost no negative history w/ the Bills.

I like Jackson a lot, too.  Fun to watch, and seems like a good dude. Unlike crybaby.

I was in high school when they beat the Giants in the Super Bowl.  I was very happy for them that night as my first memory watching football was Super Bowl 25.

But as I got older and read about Art Modell and Cleveland I got turned off by them.

I'll root for them against the Chiefs but under most circumstances just not a fan.

I read a ton. Some non-fiction. But a lot of foreign-author fiction, and the stuff that usually gets short listed for the major fiction awards (eg, booker award).

I remember years ago there was a similar book thread on here and someone recommended a book. I read it, and it was horrendous. So I don’t trust any of you. 😁

  4. I'm not a big reader but I bought this book recently that I thought was kind of cool.

My grandparents were from that town, dad was born there and went too school there, I went too church there, I still establish bakeries and restaurants there so the bottom line is I feel I have connections to it.

So it's cool to read old photos of places and events and what not.

Had no idea Arthur Ashe won a tennis tournament there in the 1960's or they even had such a thing.

How did it go from Bass O Matic to this??? Of course it had to be wide right on top of everything else.

Man I know it’s bad when you’ve had it with a Bill player.

In retrospect can you believe they cut Haushka for this dude?

While it seems hopeless these times are still better than the drought years when we had no QB and no chance to compete. I still wonder if the football gods will ever allow the stars to align and will the Bills to the title. If the Red Sox or Cubs can win the World Series, I remain hopeful that we will get one someday.

Lets hope Kelce joins his brother in retirement to spend more time with Taylor. Maybe then the Bills time will arrive.

The half glass full guy in me says after the Eagles game I thought the team was done.  So I didn’t think they’d even get this far.

The cynic in me says if Kelce even does retire a new even d baggier “villain” will come along to torture the fan base.

  7. I’ll be back.

But even this afternoon I took a ride to a restaurant I’d never been too and found a new joint to order from.

Case in point even big games like this my life and happiness does not revolve around the Buffalo Bills.

  8. Belichick had that Super Bowl against the Rams they won 13-3 where the defense did its thing.  Tom didn’t do much in that Super Bowl.

Case in point he needed Brady for his success but I still think he’s one of the best there was.
