The state of politics in America today.
dgrochester55 replied to 4th&long's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Every portion of your reply only further proved all of my points. You are a narcissist and an a--hole which is exactly why you also have the TDS mentality. Have a good rest of your day. -

Ok, how about pointing out the typical narcissist DARVO (Deny, Attack, Reverse Victim and Offender) far left response that you just applied. "Oh little poor me is just trying to speak my dear little mind and you are being mean and taking away my rights!" The real issue is that you shared a tweet using a term that lefties would cancel someone on the right for using. Are you telling me that calling someone the r-word is a valid criticism? Typical "Rules for thee and not for me". Admit it and own it. There is a difference between valid criticism and making a full time job out of saying how much they hate one person for nine years. I was right the first time, self-absorbed a-hole. -

No, the only simple explanation that TDS people are all just self-absorbed a-holes who found an extreme niche in politics that allows them to act exactly as they would naturally be in day-to day life. End of discussion. -

Dropping the R-word? There is some nice lefty inclusiveness. -
Trump’s glorious Golden Age of America is here

One of the biggest reasons why people do not like the tariffs is because they think that countries will call their bluff and it will lead to trade wars. Situation like this is what they were hoping for and any article like this is encouraging because at the end of the day, I am tired of seeing my retirement and savings plummet. There is still a ways to go, but shouldn't we all want it to go well? Serious question, would you rather see this surprise everyone, succeed and result in the US economy becoming more stable, or is " I told you" so to the orange man so important to you that a recession and lost savings is worth it? I do not get that mentality. I've never hated any politician so much that I would rather cheer against my country and personal well being than see them succeed. -
Liberation Day - what were you liberated from?

Ultimately, the success or failure of the tariffs are not going to depend on an uninhabited island which is an Australian territory that was only included due to a clerical error involving mislabeled shipments. It is a petty distracting sidebar meant to fuel outrage and disbelief. If you want to play the "bUt OrAnGe MaN tAx PeNgUiN" card, and get the cheap laugh go ahead, but after that, you have added nothing and not convinced anyone in the center and right that the left has a better option. If we want to discuss how bad this is, it is only fair to present what the democrats would have done to get us out of debt. I want to know what the other option was so that I can compare. P.S before you call me a MAGA, I am against these tariffs too, it is too much too soon and I am not convinced that the long term gains will offset the short term losses. Stupid distractions and irrelevant side bars like that from the TDS side only cause both sides to dig their heels in more and not get any closer to a meaningful discussion. Edit: This article explains it without as much slant and spin as the other mainstream options. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cly8xlj0485o -
Liberation Day - what were you liberated from?
dgrochester55 replied to SectionC3's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Anyone with a computer or mobile device, and a slight bit of common sense can quickly run a search and learn simple facts. Things such as Heard and McDonald island were only included because all Australian territories were part of the tariff and Russia already has sanction and a tariff would have been redundant. Progressives are conditioned to use propaganda and high frutcose corn syrup quality tweets because 95% of the time they have no ammo or actual solution to the problem. Now they have a scenario within the 5% where they may actually gain ground. For example, they could point out the market performance over the last three days and have something compelling. Instead, they still stick to lies and incomplete information in the form of partial truth propaganda tweets because like most sociopaths, lying is so ingrained in them that it is impossible for them to stop. -

I'm 2 for 3, having also blocked C-section and the quack. Haven't done 4th and long yet because sometimes reading their posts is entertaining in a way that is similar to watching a bad American Idol or AGT audition. -

It's funny because they would have you believe that as soon as Trump was done with the tariff announcements at 4:30, that the executives made a snap decision at 4:35 to lay thousands off and announce it within an hour. The reality is that it takes at least months to plan this and the the layoffs plans were already in place, most likely before Trump even started. Was it due to Biden's policies, anticipation of Trump's incoing policies, or a combination of both? I couldn't know without looking into it more, but this is the equivalent of them trying to say that Trump didn't add a tariff to Russia because he loves Putin instead of the real reason of them already having sanctions. TDS people have a real issue to latch on to now to use as a chance to try convince others to come back to them and can't stay out of their own way by coming up with these skewed and fear mongering propaganda pieces. -

I was liberated from pointless troll spam two weeks ago when I blocked Csection3. -
If this rule applied, I would have had to call you stupid about 20 times today. In order to be more accurate, what your sentence should have said to better reflect your stance, "if you say anything that I do not agree with, I will continue to insult you like a child because I am not capable of participating in society like a civilized person"
-
But you don't understand, Roundy looks at the data(i.e. Googled "dow crashing because of Trump" and found the tweetable tidbit that best matched his agenda.) We would have never known that the market went down if not for him. And since we are not macroeconomics experts like him,(honorary degree in dunning-kruger studies at Google U) we are all idiots. Otherwise, we would have known that this was the last day of the market ever and that there is a 100% guarantee of failure because he doesn't like it. Now, I've expressed my own concern and stated that I do not like what happened yesterday, because it is too much too fast, but that isn't good enough for the TBD TDS TMI troll gang because you are either all in on orange man bad 100% of the time or you are a MAGA. Perfect example of TDS mentality. I did express critcism of yesterday, but since it didn't not include panic, hate and fearmongering, it wasn't good enough. That is why you are a TDS person. Edit: Looks like the fraudulent, opioid prescribing quack is still taking pot shots at me even though I blocked it three months ago.

Nope, I stated that the dems have yet to come up with something, not that "only Trump could" stop twisting my words to fit your agenda. I also explicitly said that I did not like what happened yesterday, but you conveniently must have skimmed over that part. You call me stupid, but your reading comprehension indicates a pot and kettle scenario. If you can't have a conversation without an insult then shut the hell up, sit down and let the adults talk.

MO of the online posting left. If you look at any given online discussion, on the surface it looks like 90% agree with them, but in reality, it is the same three to ten people with duplicate accounts posting over and over and over again like it is a full time job. It's even worse on places like reddit or news site forums. At least here, you know that everyone is a real person since the primary purpose of the site is for supporting a sports team.

This comment might carry some weight if the Democrat party didn't just finish a two year campaign solely focused on how bad the other guy was and still blame the past administration for things going wrong three years into Biden's term. Don't set expectations and rules for your opposition that you aren't willing to follow yourself.

These tariffs are way too much too fast. I know that Trump is banking on this resulting in negotation and better rates, but a trade war seems to be the more likely result, I do not listen to fox or CNN when deciding how a President is doing in the economy, I look at monthly expenses, retirement savings, and how my family and friends at various income levels are doing . I do not like what I have seen in the last three months, so I am not pleased about the direction with tariffs so far. What that being said, I will give it more time because it takes more than one decision to fix the mess that was created.. In case Trump's ideas fail, what does your party have to offer to address the debt if they get power back? At some point, the US is going to have to pay the piper. I would rather have that on our terms instead of on China's. What would be the left's plan to fix it? I've heard nothing from the left but "tax the rich more.", but this doesn't work as the only option because there are still trillions in debt after you've drained them and the rich know how to work around heavy taxes. What I have seen from Democrat candidates over the past 20 years are promises to the people that sound great on paper, but add trillions to the debt. The Republicans have done this to an extent too, but dems treat the US budget like a Beverly Hills teen girl on a shopping spree with daddy's credit card. Your last post added nothing to the table. If TDS people do not like what happened yesterday, great, I agree. How about offering an alternative instead of whining and saying the same exact one liners and cheap tweetable propaganda that we have seen every day since 2016? We know that you all hate Trump. My question to you or the others is what is your proposed method for turning around the economy, helping the US bring in more than they spend and stopping the cycle of increased debt?

Nothing like nice neutral poll questions from c-section 3. No slant in those at all.

I see the value of tariffs in small doses, but personally think that this is way too much too fast. We didn't get to this level of debt overnight, and it will take more than one decision or even one year of decisions to get us out. The level of success or failure for this will depend on other countries and whether they are willing to negotiate or whether they call his bluff and retaliate (I wouldn't put it past far left celebrities and extremist activists to beg other country leaders to do the latter.) If it is the first scenario, he looks brilliant, if it is not, it could create a mess and essentially guarantee democrat wins in two and four years. Since we were all told to "give it more time", three years into Biden's term, I can give it at least a couple of months before i pass full judgment.

In 2020, they said that Trump was cruel and heartless for not giving every person $6000 multiple times in a stimulus package instead of $1400. Then 3 years later, it was his fault for spending recklessly, deliberately being oblivious to the fact that it would have been worse if they got what they wanted. There is no reasoning with them.

RFK Jr: CONFIRMED Trump 47 HHS Secretary

Exaggerated, oversimplified rhetoric and passive aggressive appeal to emotion. Typical TDS word vomit. You thought that you had a good point, but "bark bark bark" is all I heard! -

Only because the left is even more extreme. People like you make everyone else MAGA. TDS people have no redeeming qualities and nothing to offer to society.
