I know that Trump is banking on this resulting in negotation and better rates, but a trade war seems to be the more likely result, I do not listen to fox or CNN when deciding how a President is doing in the economy, I look at monthly expenses, retirement savings, and how my family and friends at various income levels are doing . Trade sanctions make tariffs unnecessary. You cant add a tariff to zero. There are plenty of valid concerns that opponents of this could express, no need to add things that can easily be disputed and explained.
