  1. Concerned about his injuries and immaturity but definitely think he is worth a 5th. His dream has been to qb the Bills and maybe he would put in the work and gain the self control to make it reality. He has a lot of NFL qb qualities on the field and he tore up Bama defense. A lot of people were wild during high school and college, most of us managed to grow up. Hard to gauge where he will be picked though. Anywhere from 4th to 6th I think. No chance he goes undrafted imo
  2. Among qualified backs he Led the League in ypc, td%, 3rd down conversion..... led the league. That 5th rnd pick gonna lead the league!!!
  3. I can't stand the Pats or Belichek. They are the most successful team right now and it is not only random luck or they have the greatest 6th round Comp pick of all time. To see that the Bills are mismanaged is not difficult and it doesn't make you a bad fan imo.
  4. His salary says otherwise.BB is not paying him so the Bills can't keep him. He only does things to get better. He is not infallible but if he thinks Gillis is worth it I don t doubt it. A 5th rnd pick is peanuts for a guy who converts 3rd downs and tds like that.
  5. Not to mention the 1.3 mil dead cap still for Felton. So with 1.3 for Felton and then DiMarco and Tolbert how much is that for the fb position? Too much to keep the most efficient back in the league. BB says thank you for his new #1.
  6. The best team in the NFL just made him their #1. What else is there to understand. I liked what he brought and obviously he got noticed. Bills could have kept him for less than he will be paid.
  7. Time will tell. Not trying to predict the future, just interpreting the past. Fact is, MG has been really good and NE is betting he will continue to be. Not that hard to understand.
  8. Where did I say that? The point is that he did that and now the best coach in the NFL just poached him and made him their #1 back.
  9. MG led the league in multiple categories and efficiency metrics like dvoa etc. He wasn t near the top, he was the top. Obviously BB was impressed. I know that. My point was his ypc and td% was the same.
  10. I get that. McCoy is a special talent, I think the extension was unnecessary and is the reason they are not keeping MG. MG led the league in multiple measurements and if it was that easy McCoy would have led some of those. Lets not pretend that Gillislies production was just a fluke. He produced at the same pace in 2015. Maybe the system here helped him thrive but the guy has done nothing but produce and the best coach in the game wants him as a #1.
  11. Yep, way more excited to see what that 5th rnd pick will bring than keeping the most efficient back in the NFL last year. Yep
  12. Just a single offer sheet to become the highest paid rb on the reigning sb champs and to replace the NFL td leader. What a nobody. A random 5th rnd pick will easily replace him.
  13. 3rd or 4th down and 5+ yrds to go MG leads the league over last 2 seasons and not even close. Converted 14 of 17 such attempts. Led the league in yrds per carry, td %, 3rd conversion %, etc. Lot of rbs in the league, one guy led those categories. Explain it any way you want but it is the truth.
  14. What are you talking about? The best team in the NFL thought he was worth it.
  15. "Whaley probably sucks and the Bills are historically terrible, but they turned a scrap heap mid-season free agent that again ZERO other teams wanted into a 5th round pick. It makes the Whaley haters look bad to seize on this when there are tons of other legitimate examples of dubious decision making". So a young talent that led the entire NFL in multiple metrics is exchanged for a late 5th round pick and that is somehow a win? No wonder this franchise has been losers so long. Sign two more fullbacks while you are still paying 1.3 million dead cap to your last one.
  16. Lets just wait and see if the Bills have another backup who can lead the league in multiple metrics. It should be easy to find that one guy who is better than everyone else in so many ways. Piece of cake. Who is this Bill Belichek guy who thinks a backup is worth that much. What an idiot!
  17. If that were true, why did MG lead the league in efficiency and J Will was a complete disappointment.
  18. Gillislee, 26, was the Bills' No. 2 running back last season behind LeSean McCoy, rushing 101 times for 577 yards and eight touchdowns. Among NFL running backs with a qualifying number of carries, Gillislee led the league in yards per rush (5.71), rushes per touchdown (12.6), first-down rate on rushes (38.6 percent) and third-down conversion rate on rushes (75 percent). Only one person led the entire league in all those categories. It was just random luck and anybody could have done it. A lot of running backs in the NFL but one guy led the league in all those categories. No big deal, he is a 5th round backup. Dime a dozen. What absolute fools the Patriots are.
  19. Gillislee, 26, was the Bills' No. 2 running back last season behind LeSean McCoy, rushing 101 times for 577 yards and eight touchdowns. Among NFL running backs with a qualifying number of carries, Gillislee led the league in yards per rush (5.71), rushes per touchdown (12.6), first-down rate on rushes (38.6 percent) and third-down conversion rate on rushes (75 percent). a 5th round pick should replace that pretty easily I would think. smh
  20. Unfortunately the bottom line is the Bills have very little cap space left as things stand. I disagree that he will be easily replaced or anyone would be that good in that offense, but I don't expect they will be able to keep him.
  21. Interesting stat, MG converted 3rd/4rth down carries with 5+ yds to go more than any back in the nfl over last two seasons. 14 of 17 such attempts for a ridiculous success rate of over 82%. No one else even close. Not an argument, just a fact to put out there. I think BB probably knows that as well. pbomb :U do realize mg was a 5th round pick ? U do realize Tom Brady was a 6th round Comp pick. How is when MG was drafted relevant to his current value to a team?
  22. Amazing how many people think you can just easily find good running backs late in the draft, undrafted, on the street corner, etc. This guy was one of the most efficient runners in the league last year according to multiple analytic sites. McCoy is a year older and will certainly need plays off or games off if he can't stay healthy.
