  1. No. Nei The fact that Taylor was at the game is actually pretty significant. It's called "cognitive rest." If he still really badly needed it, he sure wouldn't be at a football game watching his teammates and the plays he's going to run where he's really not getting that rest.
  2. I'm sorry Fig, but as much as I don't think Taylor's in Buffalo's long term future, he's got a better chance at it than Peterman, who might see 10 or 12 games, at most, this season. And even if Taylor were benched and Peterman comes in and looks really good, you think Beane (who played no part in drafting Peterman) isn't going to do everything he can to go out and get his guy in the draft with his stockpile of draft picks? Taylor and Peterman are both, at this point, longshots at being long term answers for this team at the position. But the reality is that Taylor has a more realistic shot at proving he can be this year than Peterman does.
  3. I feel like lying is a violation of the CoC or something. You should stop doing it. Weird that you're saying this about him. He's far from part of your stupid "CoT." He's always been pretty critical of Taylor, actually. Can you please grow up?
  4. Okay... so if we make the playoffs what're you gonna do, change your name? Are you actually going to actively root for Taylor to fail? No need to answer that question, actually... I already know the answer, unfortunately. Okay, now you're being an idiot. This is a complete lie. No one... absolutely no one has ever said Tyrod is better than Kelly in any way. Stop being a troll go Bills and go away, please
  5. right on cue Last I checked, it's 17 years in a row we haven't made the playoffs What are you gonna do with yourself if this team actually does make the playoffs with Taylor at the helm?
  6. It wasn't Taylor's job to lose in the Spring, apparently, when everyone was so excited about how McDermott was stressing that every single position is an open competition. So, if it's Taylor's job to lose, it's because he pretty clearly earned it through the spring camps and training camp. Occam's razor, folks. Why are we making this so complicated? Because of a few meaningless preseason games? I won't be one of them. You and OS and Crusher and xRushx and your ilk just don't get it: There is no CoT! We're Bills fans, and if Taylor is bad (for me) for the first 3 or 4 games, I'll be happy to see him pulled and see Peterman in there. This QB discussion will then turn into the handful of you probably continually berating other posters (your professed "CoT") for saying things they never said. Some people thrive off animosity. Have at it and enjoy. I just want a goddamn playoff season and I don't care who's under center when it happens!
  7. I'll give you this: Champions of Tyrod and your definition of it is much more reasonable than those zany "Church of Tyrod" pushers So what you think then is that McDermott is going in with a plan to watch Taylor lose us a few games in order to put Peterman in after he's lost his job? Or you think he's putting Taylor in so this team can lose the most games possible? He said that there was pretty much an open competition at every position including QB way back in the spring and yet, McDermott has been pretty emphatic about Taylor being the starting QB. So, if you think he's a liar and is trying to do one of the 2 things above, yeah maybe. I don't think McDermott wants to lose games on purpose though and I don't think he wants to tank. But go on... keep up the narrative that Peterman actually won over Dennison and McDermott and it's some elaborate conspiracy to start Taylor instead Seems like wishful thinking for all you anTy posters
  8. Good God, you people put way too much stock in the preseason. I don't blame you. I used to do it, too. But I've come to realize that about 70 snaps and less than 30 passes in a vanilla offense put out to both mask your regular season plans and put you in the positions you're least accustomed to is an insignificant evaluative tool when compared with what's gotta be well over 100 hours of practice and film study time. Have you noticed how decisively Beane and McDermott affirmed that Taylor is the starter? Peterman has had a nice preseason and if Taylor flops, I'll be excited to see him play and will be hopefully optimistic that he can help this team win games, but I can't believe folks honestly believe Peterman has somehow earned the #1 job based on some preseason games
  9. Well now you're just making stuff up... are you proud of being a liar? That's just sad. I have never said the things you say in this post. Must be kind of fun to be deluded though
  10. Yep. Hokie inferred this early this week I think and it's confirmed by Beane himself. Everybody freaking out about how this offense isn't a fit for Taylor based on preseason just needs to take a breath.
  11. Yep. I agree with the sentiment that what you complain about or praise for one should be complained about or praised for another.
  12. It's really weird that this becomes the narrative for Peterman, but ball placement is a big problem for Taylor On a side note, looking more and more like Taylor will be good to start next week. On top of Beane's comments earlier, I don't really think Peterman would have seen the field if McDermott & Co. weren't relatively confident Tyrod would be ready for the Jets. I'm just glad we have a promising young rookie who I think can still win us games if Taylor's playing badly 3 or 4 games into the season
  13. Did he say that? Nice, Hokie said this in another thread and this all but confirms the fact that the offense we've seen with Taylor won't be the offense we see in the regular season. Phew! What a relief!
  14. He also said "he's the guy we want. He's the starter. He's got a lot of starts in this league and we're looking forward to him leading us out." As he should. Yates sucks. Taylor being there says as much as Beane's comments. If the effects of the concussion were still bad he wouldn't be there and would still be getting what they call cognitive rest.
  15. I don't really disagree with what you say here, but I don't even know if it's really a response to what I said. I think when/if Taylor's under center to start the regular season, Dennison is going to roll him out and put him in shotgun a heckuva lot more than he has done for the first 3 games. Under those conditions, Taylor is more likely to thrive. I don't agree that our offense will be as bad as you say, though I think they take a step back. I think they'll be a middle of the pack offense. If the defense takes the big step forward I expect them to, this team is still probably destined for another 7-9 to 9-7 year. Worst offense we've seen in 10 years, huh? Well, guess we'll find out soon enough. No, we both don't know that, because you live in fantasy land. If you think I said Taylor was in the long-term plans (and please think about that word and what it implies), you're deluding yourself and others to try to perpetuate some narrative where I think Taylor is an Elite QB. Yah, never happened
  16. Care to sum up what was said about (I'm guessing) Peterman as one of the top 5 (I assume) sleeper QBs for those of us who don't currently have access to Youtube?
  17. Ummmm, what? Where did I ever say this? You like to oversimplify and twist words, I see. Tell me wherever I said this.
  18. I gotta say, I think it's really sad that you're on here posting so freakin much now. Not because I don't think you have a right to post. But because, for you, Tyrod looking bad or any imminence of him potentially being benched is like red meat thrown into your kennel. Your post count per day increased exponentially once you saw, in particular, the Eagles game. I think if Peterman becomes the starter and plays really well, you won't know what to do with yourself because all you seem capable of is endlessly negative criticism of particular players and posters who you label as "homers" of that player. I bet if Peterman ends up the starter and retains the job because he vastly exceeds expectations, you'll be one of those posters who just gloats and rubs it in the faces everyone you think got it wrong rather than celebrating the play of the guy you exalted so much. There are Eeyores of the world and you seem to be one of them. Just ridiculous. As to your post, I think a lot of people are looking at a Defense that's likely to take 2 or 3 steps forward with an offense that takes a step back. Still a step forward. Personally, I think our D is going to pretty dramatically improve from last year and that this team might be lined up (unfortunately) for another middling season. It looks like 8-8 to me. The optimistic homer in me is thinking 10 wins are possible, though, with an offense that plays much better than it has appeared in the preseason. With Matthews coming in hopefully healthy and Dennison likely implementing an offense we've only seen a fraction of, so far, I think it's possible, but not likely. Whoever is under center, it seems pretty clear that Dennison is running the offense differently through the QBs in the preseason. As Hokie said earlier in the thread, I'd say it's likely to test them and make them uncomfortable in order to try to get them used to the aspects of his offense they'll be most uncomfortable in. Taylor's used to taking snaps in the shotgun, yet only 35% (20/57) of all his preseason snaps were taken in the shotgun. and before you say that's because Dennison's offense operates mostly under center... Peterman was the most "pro-ready" QB in the draft and is comfortable taking snaps under center, yet 53% (60/113) of all his preseason snaps were taken in the shotgun. If Taylor's healthy and starts in a week and a half, I doubt what we've seen in preseason really resembles what we see in week 1. And I'm sure Dennison will be capable of maximizing Taylor's skillsets.
  19. What have Woods and Watkins said that says Tyrod is lousy? And on top of that, should we really take what Watkins says as anything other than those comments of a jilted lover, spiteful over rejection? Really curious if you have these quotes calling Taylor lousy in your back pocket or not, 'cause I haven't seen 'em Yep.
  20. Yes, of course we do. That is assuming we'll be bad enough to draft really high in a great QB class. You think the veteran players think Taylor is lousy? What makes you think they think that? Because you think he is? I don't think there's really ever been an indication of that thought, actually, so this is a stretch... more than a stretch, actually.
  21. I wasn't trying to argue. No point in arguing with someone who thinks this team would suddenly be bad enough to be one of the 2 or 3 worst teams in NFL history because of one player. That's just really stupid. The Bills are likely to win at least a handful of games on the back of its defense alone.
  22. Really weird to hear this from you I don't give a crap who plays QB if this team can put it together and win. If it's Taylor, wonderful. If that's Peterman, awesome. One of the big issues here is just going to be with what all the team vets think. Even if Taylor sits out week #1 (which is possible) and Peterman goes out and plays well and the team gets a W (we're playing the Jets, so also very possible... maybe even likely), what is McDermott going to do for week 2 or when Taylor is healthy? McDermott actually painted himself into a bit of a corner when he flatly stated on Sunday "Taylor's the starter." Now if he's not given the job back when he's healthy, there might be a bit of an issue with the players. So Crusher, here's where you and I agree... for the team's sake I think you let Taylor play until he loses the job. If Taylor starts week 1 and by the 3rd or 4th game he's playing horribly, pull him and put the rookie in. That way you don't lose the team and if Peterman's as good as so many here think he is, maybe he can string together a bunch of Ws. What a tumultuous offseason this has been...
