In another time, the snitches would have turned in Jews hiding in attics. The illusion of freedom, indeed. -

Best thing to come out of the lock down: I now know I can order gallons of Margaritas from local Mexican restaurants. ? At one local restaurant you can order a bottle of tequila (house), triple sec (house), and lime juice to make your own... flavored if you prefer. At one month of being house bound, it is the little things in life... -

There is stuff in the China thread and the deep state thread about 5G and China. A search of this sub-forum will lead you to it as it has been discussed for several years now. -

Drives my husband insane. I follow it easily, mostly because I am like that too. Yes, I can frustrate hubby when I am making a point. Nothing like a tangent to tell a good story and make certain the people in the audience are listening closely, is my motto! ? -

You are probably correct. The press conference today should be er, interesting... Trump is again a dictator after not doing enough to close down the states (the press' pretzel logic is something to behold). -

I'm not sure what it means... coordinated in our transportation? Plane travel? Federal highways? Trains? More than that? He's never pressured a Governor to close, so not sure if he will pressure to reopen (or not reopen). -

??? I've stated before, there is a certain segment of the female population that is attracted to famous/rich/powerful men for no other reason than they are famous/rich/powerful. They are called buckle bunnies, puck bunnies, etc. Donald Trump was/is a rich, famous man. Power attracts. It is an aphrodisiac for many, many women. (Hence, the "let you" comment.) There is a certain segment of women, just as there is a certain segment of men, that will have sex with men/women simply to say, "Hey, guess what? I slept with XX!" The proverbial notch in the bedpost. If you, or any other man, doesn't think that women are attracted to men with money and power, regardless of looks (and many women considered President Trump to be attractive when he was younger, the personality and fortune just made him extremely attractive to some), well, I don't know what to tell you. -

Ok, I had asked and asked about cleaning out the subway, buses, etc and if the press was simply not reporting it. This article was about the homeless taking up residence in the subway since the coronavirus shutdown, and the employees complaining about the conditions. At the end of the article, there is this (no link to MTA, no word on how it is being accomplished or what they are using, simply that it is happening): </snip> But employees say the videos prove conditions are still disastrous. They are pushing for more drastic action. “I think they should shut down at least from like midnight to 5 and clean up the trains, clean up the areas where the employees are. Get it all fresh and ready for the next day of essential workers,” Hicks said. The MTA said as of now trains are being disinfected every day with the full fleet completed every 72 hours. -

She sure is. It is now almost guaranteed Joey Fingers picks her as his running mate. In addition to being a horrible governor, she has pretty hair he can sniff! -

Yeah, there are a few disingenuous people (trolls and paid) who infect nearly every thread with hooey. Using the ignore feature makes things much more readable, and you miss the I-know-what-you-are-but-what-am-I exchanges. Note: that is not to say people should ignore those with different political views or takes, simply the trolls... ok, and maybe the crazies. ? -
From Bloomberg </snip> OPEC+ will cut 9.7 million barrels a day -- just below the initial proposal of 10 million. The U.S., Brazil and Canada will contribute another 3.7 million barrels on paper as their production declines. OPEC officials were still waiting to hear more from Group of 20 members -- though it’s not clear if those numbers will represent real cuts or just production idled because of market forces. </snip>

I'm pretty sure you know who DC Tom is. Right now, he's on hiatus from this place so others are stepping in with his signature, "you're an idiot" which was given when people were actually idiots, as a term of quasi-endearment (er, not that Tom would ever qualify it as such), and to point out mistakes. John Prine is an A-lister who died of COVID-19.
