Talent wise this team's not close to the best ever. Especially on defense. What they are really good at is not turning the ball over and forcing turnovers. The turnovers help explain why we're the offense is 2nd in points scored but 9th in total yards. Same goes for the defense which is 11th in points against but 20th in yards allowed. This points to excellent coaching.

The rest of the league already knows he's good. That's why organizations pay scouts. It's really up to Benford and his willingness to bet on himself.

Not even being named a pro bowl alternate would make me thinks he plays the final year of his deal in order to put another year on tape to maximize his value. Rousseau will count $13.4m against the cap this year under the 5th year option so you'd like to extend him to lower that cap hit. Benford meanwhile only has a $1.1 cap hit next year. If I were Beane I'd try to re-sign him but Benford may want to bet on himself to maximize his value.

Unlikely it will be a short term contract. His brother signed a five year $62m ($28.2m guaranteed) extension in 2020. The same agency is representing his brother and for some reason decided to tell the world that Cook was playing against the Jets on MNF this year and he ended up missing the game which is still weird to me. Dalvin was more of a complete back so I don't think James will demand $12m a year. Maybe closer to $10m and if I'm Beane I'm not extending him for 5 years $50m. It might get awkward this off-season and into training camp with Cook. If teams are willing to trade a 2nd day pick for him I would field those calls.

They made a good point that Allen's total ypg will go down because he starts week 18. That kind of stinks when looking at head to head stats.

Gruden's record since inheriting Dungy's defense to win that Super Bowl in 2003 was 67-81 over ten(ish) seasons with zero playoff wins.

I've read from a few draft evaluators that Sanders would've been taken between Daniels and Maye if he was in the last draft. If a team thinks that's true they'd absolutely trade for the first pick. There's a lot of QB needy teams like the Raiders, Giants, Jets, Titans, Browns (maybe), and Saints (maybe) that would package a trade to number one if they thought Sanders would be the guy to turn around their franchise.

He thinks Mahomes should get in on legacy and then the other two spots should be for individual performance that season. That's passer rating you gave and not QBR. Lamar (78.0), Allen (76.7), and Burrow (76.7) are all head of Mahomes (68.5) in QBR.

He would've left Allen out but made him MVP (individual statistics for pro bowl vs. team impact for MVP). Don't ask me to go inside that warped brain.

He does have a good point that it's really odd that the highly decorated QB of a 15-1 team didn't get in. I was shocked that he didn't get in. I think any other year he did and if you took conferences out of it he'd pry be the 4th of the 6 QB's selected. It's just that Lamar, Burrow, and Josh have had MVP type level seasons and they all just happened to be in the AFC.

Groot is the only must sign this off-season imo. I don't want to play the tag game with him. One of the best in the league rushing the passer and defending the run.
-
Yup. He's still somehow only 29 and wasn't born on leap day. Yet I still have to Google his name just to make sure I spell it right. You think he'd have an established nickname for him by now like "The Greek Freak" in basketball to save us the trouble.

Hey, Bills media. I know you're probably run by some brilliant liberal arts major. However, maybe when the outside skeptics believe that this is more of a lifetime achievement award than how Allen actually performed this year..............you might not want to plaster the graphic with unbelievable stats that date back to his rookie season.

It is but part of voting fatigue in this case might come to past poor play in the playoffs by Lamar.
