As a UCLA graduate I will always find it ironic that I had hoped we'd draft Rosen. Yes I've devoured countless variations of crow since then. Then his rookie year he decides to begin his legend by hurdling another Bruin, Anthony Barr. A star was born that moment. Maybe someday Troy Aikman (Bruin) will call Josh's first SB victory. How ironic life can be....

Saffold wants to stay in Buffalo
LABILLBACKER replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall
Wonderful community, player friendly organization, best fanbase in the world. What's not to love? I'd bring him back on a team friendly deal but only as a backup. This team's #1 weakness is OL. We have to FINALLY draft aggressively on OL. -

Just stop wasting wide sweeps where no one blocks. His very first game he was open on a wheel route and Josh missed him. -
The "ball did not survive the ground" rule
LABILLBACKER replied to Repulsif's topic in The Stadium Wall
They got the tuck rule call right but that doesn't make it an intelligent rule. I think the NFL keeps this stupid rule alive to increase drama and replay looks. -
Josh's obscure 2 1/2 game crapfest has alot to do with his refusal to check down to open guys. These last 3 games we've seen him tone it down and backoff some on deep hero ball. And it's working. Doesn't mean he won't take deep shots like the Sweeney holding TD, but I think you're going to see a smarter more mature version of this Cyborg.

That telecast was terrible. Absolutely no replays of anything. So far Prime is failing.

The "ball did not survive the ground" rule
LABILLBACKER replied to Repulsif's topic in The Stadium Wall
The rule not only sucks but takes away the spirit of the game. The tuck rule was poorly written and ridiculous. They finally realized this and changed it. The same needs to happen for survival catches. If NFL fans see it with their eyes as a catch, then it's a catch. Period -
First Time in a While - It Feels Like Buffalo is Back!
LABILLBACKER replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall
As confident and optimistic as I am about what this team just accomplished in the last 12 days, I still am terrified over our OL. Hopefully Kromer & Co. can get everyone healthy and re-tooled. -
A Niner & Bengal win would make me very happy. The others are just gravy.

The "ball did not survive the ground" rule
LABILLBACKER replied to Repulsif's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's the most convoluted and poorly written rule in the NFL since the tuck. If the out of bounds is out of "the field of play" then why the hell do we care what happens to the ball when we all can see it was a catch. Poyer secured the ball and got both feet in. Rb's that instantaneously cross the plane of the goal line then the ball is knocked out don't have to survive anything? What if Poy intercepts it, goes OB then bumps into a player and ball comes out? Or he runs into the bench and ball comes out. How far out of bounds do we take the survival? What if he jumps into the stands and a fan knocks it out?....All utter & complete nonsense with zero common sense written in. -
Will Devin Singletary be a 1,000 yard back this year?
LABILLBACKER replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall
No RB will hit 1000 until we decide to improve our OL. It's as simple as that. Guys like Quess, Saffold and Brown have to become replaced. -
Top 10 TE in the NFL this season (yards)
LABILLBACKER replied to ArdmoreRyno's topic in The Stadium Wall
Look at that list and look at 26 targets. You can't ignore a $53M TE in your offense. Other than the drop, Dawson was wide open several times last night? I didn't have the answer. Only Josh & Dorsey can answer that. But you can't pay a TE that much to only block. -
The "ball did not survive the ground" rule
LABILLBACKER replied to Repulsif's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes the league needs to change this. It's as dumb a rule as the tuck. -

Exactly....wheel routes, screens, dump offs etc. All his runs last night had zero blocking. He is being poorly used. -
I'm not paying him a penny more than Milano makes so deal with it.

Because of how terrible our OL is, we are forced to do the exact opposite of what made Knox productive. With only 3 dependable olineman in Dawkins, Morse & Bates, we are forced to lose 100% of any offensive production from all our TE's. They gotta stay in to block and even then they get blown up. Diggs lost a td because of it. Until we completely overhaul our OL, Knox & Co will be rendered useless.

I'm not giving up on Hines. They'll figure out his niche on this offense. He's been steady in the return game aside from tonight.
