You’re being dramatic.  “The unthinkable”?  One of two good teams is going to lose a football game.  Neither result is unthinkable.

Also, yeah, fans tend to only remember the last thing that happened.  That’s why you put more reasonable objective decision makers at the switches.

We have a 52 percent chance of winning. I’m not talking about a tough, close loss.

I’m talking about a “McD special” where HE is the sole reason why we lose the game, like 13 seconds.

There's nothing that could happen in one game that would prevent him from being retained.  Nothing.  No matter how much you want it.  Not even a 13 seconds repeat type situation or a blowout.  Pegula (IMO) is extremely relieved that McDermott made the playoffs so he could easily justify not making a change.

He’s relieved that he might not have to fire him. I think you’re right about that.

The only way he was getting fired here this year is if, from 6-6, the team quit on him and collapsed down the stretch. If we'd finished 6-11 instead of 11-6 and it looked like he had lost the locker room then all bets would have been off. But that didn't happen.

Right but the season isn’t over. Let’s just say that something bad happens, the unthinkable happens, do you think anyone is going to remember the previous 6 wins? Do you think that after a career crushing loss, people will view that as the team rallying to their coach?

I think as fans we should be mentally prepared for all possible outcomes. This would be #4. I mean, he’s already done it 3 out of 3 times. The following day people would be calling him Marv 2.0 for Christ’s sake.

Maybe in your mind and the mind of some fans. He is safe in the Pegulas mind.

Tremaine Edmunds “Truthers” often spoke in absolutes too.  Truth is, we have no idea what Terry thinks or what he would think if the unthinkable happened.

    Google Translation:

"When the Chiefs faced the Bills this season... Because of this penalty, Patrick Mahomes will play the first game of his career away from home in #NFLPlayoffs He played 15 games in the playoffs, all in Kansas City or the Super Bowl #ChiefsKingdom"

So this one play cost the Chiefs homefield, just as the Josh Alle slip on the QB sneak at Tennessee cost us the no. 1 seed in 2021. why couldn't the tush push have been invented back then?

I guess it’s unfair for him to play anywhere else? Lol

This is tough.   I want him on the hot seat but with our injuries...it'd be unfair to fire him.

He used injuries as his excuse last season. At some point it is what it is.

It would be 4 years of losses, 2 years with no improvement.

This is the biggest game of his career so far. It would also depend on how we lost. We’d be getting into Marvin Lewis territory.

    Don’t blow it!

McD deserves the option to bring in who he wants or if he wants to stay DC.

I love how fast , aggressive and intense this D has been as opposed to the laid back Frazier

McD isn’t really safe yet. He has to beat KC at home or all hell is gonna break loose.

I honestly have no idea why he would even think about sliding there. He’s running full speed, already 20 yards down the field, and has 2 blockers in front of him with another blocker to his left.

Who the hell would slide there? Definitely not Josh.

Someone posted this a few pages up thread. Pretty decent field level look at it. Not even close to a fake sliding mostion.

So it basically looks like Minkah freezes because of Josh’s change of direction (possible right or left) not a slide.

The view from field level coming at you suffices just fine. Josh did a little stutter step. Not even close to a fake slide. It’s just an incredibly stupid complaint.

I would like to see how far he moves to the left at that moment when he changes direction.

I'm glad you posted this clip, because I thought I was going crazy. I couldn't remember any "fake slide," but was wondering if I just overlooked it in the moment.

Nope! That's nowhere close to a fake slide, and putting it side to side with a real slide makes that so much more obvious.

Hopefully there’s a “from behind” view of that play.

Honestly, the fact that more than 1/2 of the stadium seats are not useable is embarrassing to me as a born & bred WNYer, and certainly should be to the Bills organization.

OTOH, I'm not sure that there was any way around it. The only answer would have been that they needed WAY MORE manpower than they got in clearing the stadium out. I actually used to work for a temp labor company, and I'm wondering why they didn’t use temp laborers from such companies. Do they not have those in WNY? In FL, we have tons of such companies.

There was a travel ban dude. If the game was tomorrow it would be cleared. There just isn’t enough time because the snow just stopped not long ago. Also, there’s a lot more people desperate for a days work in a state like Florida. They have day-labor places on every corner down there because there’s so much demand. They have Labor-Ready and Laborfinders. Not so in NY due to basic labor laws.

  13. I’m having a hard time with the Lions because there was 5 or 6 blatant cheap shots in that game and they wouldn’t be doing it unless their coach was telling them to do it.

I didn’t like when the Steelers and James Harrison did it all those years either. I hope they get what’s coming to them. You don’t go at people’s knees.

I never understood ‘house money’…at some point the Steelers have to rise above pretty good fringe playoff team or they are going to have to make changes

idk what it is about Tomlin but this ‘his team is bad and he has them overachieving’ shtick has worn off on me the last few years.  A guy that has coached a team for 20 nearly years should be shooting for more than just ‘happy to be there’

QBs don’t grow on trees. It requires a ton of luck.

No way we can let Mason Rudolph beat Josh Allen in the playoffs while playing in Josh Allens home.  That would be brutal.

McD is the master of making bad QB’s look like Joe Montana. We just can’t let them actually score when they get in the redzone.
