What's your interest level in the Buffalo Bandits?
oldmanfan replied to BillsPride12's topic in Off the Wall
My nieces love the Bandits. They took me to a playoff game a couple years ago when I was in town. Fun atmosphere; I’d consider getting seasons if I ever move back. -
WR trade candidates, who do you want?
oldmanfan replied to Einstein's Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’m sorry, I swore to myself that we’d just agree to disagree, but calling the WR position pathetic based on just one desired player is way over the top. -

I think you’re mistaking me with someone else about quoting an article. The individual who did so I believe said you have to cover the existing contract terms if you make a trade, and only then can you subsequently renegotiate. Other folks wiser than me have pointed out cap implications but you choose to ignore them it appears. And there is nothing I can see that suggests a rebuild. We got younger at some positions which we needed to do. And to say it yet again, a Plus/minus on one WR is not pivotal. It does not constitute a rebuild. If he brings somebody in great. If not then he’s saying he is OK with the WR room as is. Which he has already said, I believe. So you have your take, I’ll keep mine. I’m anxious for camp to start. -
I’ll be interested to see how the Solomon kid looks.

So I can see several guys on the roster that could do that. Samuel could. MVS could. If Claypool gets his head straight he could. Coleman could. I can see them splitting Cook out wide out of the backfield. Kincaid can split wide. The success or failure of the offense is going to depend on Brady’s schemes and play calling as well as Josh distributing. If Beane decides he wants to add another WR in a trade fine by me, but I don’t envision it. -

WR trade candidates, who do you want?

I will reiterate: 1. One good WR is not a linchpin of anything. The only single position that is truly a linchpin is QB and we have a great one. 2. If you pick up a contract you have to cover the salary in place. You keep making assumptions. Assumptions that Beane can do so without understanding that, how much he has to allocate to rookies, how much he’ll have to pay in injury replacements, etc. Assumptions are easy Ito make from the sidelines, not so easy when you are the guy having to do the job. 3. I tend to believe Beane when he says things. I also tend to not change my opinion on Beane from good to pathetic based on making or not making one trade. -
Harrison Butker…oy vey…what a commencement “speech”

As do I. But that seems to be a hard concept for some to grasp. -

but let’s not kid ourselves. There have been teams that havestopped Kelce. Just because I don’t follow or care to look it up doesn't make it false This board is really funny at times. We have a fellow here without knowledge and chooses not to obtain knowledge expressing with absolute certainty that the Bills can stop a guy that every other team in the league has had trouble stopping. And Williams was drafted to provide depth behind Milano. -

I haven’t said anything pro or con about McD. He needs to win or he’ll get fired. Such is life in the NFL. What I don’t do is make sweeping generalizations and then say I really don’t know what I’m talking about but are sure of that which I don’t know. Kelce has been a problem for every team. I suppose you could triple team him but that will then open other areas. I suppose we could have put Williams on him but I would not expect a rookie to slow Kelce down on his own. -

No answer to my question. I suppose because no one has figured out how to shut down Kelce. -

I’m curious as to what other teams have figured out the way to stop Kelce. -

He has the right to say what he wants. I and apparently many others have the right to disagree and express that. So why are you and others continue to suggest I should just accept his views? As for the NFL, he is an employee of one of their teams, and the league wants to assure fans who do not agree with his views that he does not speak for the league as a whole. -

Where does he say he does? That is what we’re called to do. Instead he criticized politicians and the leaders of his church not to mention the comments we’ve discussed. -

Christians follow Christ and Hos word. And he calls us to love our neighbor as ourself. I don’t sense that in Butker’s address. -

I just found that out, and therefore retract any comments made based on this. Thanks for bringing that up. -

I would say an N of 2 isn’t much. Again, he can say what he wants and some may agree. From the reaction it seems many don’t including the Order of sisters who sponsor the school, I believe. No one is saying balancing career and family is easy. What the women I have talked to about it object to is the idea that the only real identity women have are as wives and mothers. Tell you what really amazed me is his clarification where he said he’d like to go back to a time where women cared more about babies than thoughts. That he is intimating that women should not have thoughts is simply absurd no matter your religious persuasion. Yet here you are on social media espousing yours. -

And I disagree with the linchpin thing. No one player outside of QB makes the kind of pronounced difference that you’re implying. The linchpin will be Brady and how he sets up the offense. -

So you want to interpret some things literally and not others to fit your opinion. We’re done.
