  1. No it hasn't and now you're just being dumb. This thread was stated by an individual who did an exhaustive analysis of several young QBs, with the data indicating the supposed accuracy issues Allen has are overblown. We also discussed at length accuracy and precision, and discussed at length why completion percentage is not really an indicator of accuracy. Go back through the thread and look at the dartboard diagrams that show what accuracy means. You can only define accuracy by how close a given throw is to the target. Ergo, if you don't know the exact target you can't really define how accurate a throw is. That is basic statistics and if you want to just ignore that it's your problem. An example would be a throw over the middle Allen made to Clay. Clay had to reach for the ball and it was incomplete. The uneducated would say Allen was inaccurate. But Clay immediately got up and gestured it was on him, I.e. Allen put it right where he wanted it but Clay didn't get to the spot. So again, do you want to have a serious discussion, or be silly? Either way I'll be watching UB so it'll be a while. Maybe you can spend time on your beloved Chiefs site for a while.
  2. Now you're being silly. Peterman threw a ton of picks. Do you want to have a real discussion about this or resort to silliness?
  3. The data you show does not really address the question. All you're doing is what others do: trying to use completion percentage to conflate with accuracy. There have been lengthy discussions about this in the thread; I encourage you to read them if you haven't. Ultimately to gauge accuracy in any athletic endeavor, whether a football, basketball, bowling ball, golf ball, the only person who truly knows exactly what his target is is the one with the ball in his hands. Without that knowledge you can't really say for sure how accurate a single throw, etc. is.
  4. Either have all plays potentially reviewable or get rid of it altogether and accept bad calls are part of the game. I'd go with the latter myself, but trying to parse it out this way makes it ridiculous.
  5. I could care less who Croom is dating. I thought he showed promise last year, made some good catches. And the kid from Cincy was mired behind Eifert for some of that. As I said it would not surprise me in the least if they draft one on day 1 or 2. But I also try not to wallow in misery like some do.
  6. They have two right now. The kid from Cincy has a fairly good resume and Croom I thought looked pretty good last year for a young player. Although it would not surprise me in the slightest if their first pick is the kid from Iowa.
  7. I agree with this. But completion percentage has more to do with reading defenses, adequate protection, receivers running good routes and showing good hand and such than it does accuracy.
  8. He is trying to reinvent himself as a TE. Having him come in for a day to check him out is not a big deal. They're looking for a blocking type TE, so spending a few hours evaluating the guy isn't a nightmare.
  9. Happy birthday coach. Have a slice of cake, then get back to work!
  10. They're working him out to see if it's worth inviting him to camp.
  11. Another guy who does not get that completion percentage is not accuracy. Read the thread before commenting. Within it you'll see why. Just as an example why, if a QB makes 30 throws in a game and has two drops by receivers and one throwaway, it moves him from 52% to the magical 60% so many want if those are taken out. Those have nothing to do with accuracy.
  12. Fun list you've put together. Brings back tons of memories. i might sub Dobler in for Schlereth. I don't think Schlereth bit people.
  13. Jack Tatum has to be one of the safeties. And Joe Don Looney should receive strong consideration at RB.
  14. I'd put Hornung and Karras in there somewhere.
  15. I said above I don't have much problem with Rodak, probably because I don't read his stuff very much. I can understand some thinking he puts negative spins on things, I just try to ignore that myself. The problem I have with guys like Graham is they provide opinions, open themselves to feedback because they publish their emails and Twitter feeds looking for comment, then act like jerks when someone comments. With respect to scooping, etc., granted I am old fashioned but this is where the social media, 24/7 thing screws up journalism. In the haste to try and be first, there is no more true investigation and confirmation of things before posting,
  16. It is worth note that Rodak and Graham have different jobs. Rodak is a beat reporter assigned to the Bills. He should report on what's going on, and not editorialize and offer opinions. That is more the role of a columnist, which Graham is.
  17. The fallacy that completion percentage equals accuracy has been dealt with many times. They are not the same. Again why you choose to ignore that is a mystery. And where exactly do you get 48%?
  18. There have been numerous posts and analyses on this board demonstrating the fallacy of this accuracy issue and how Allen was similar to other young QBs. You choose to ignore them. Why I have no idea.
  19. Let the kid play and develop. Don't go overboard when he makes a great play and don't start with the he's a bust crap if he makes a bad one. Look long term and not short term. Oh, and panic over a QB? I'll save panic mode for things like a call in the middle of the night from the police when my daughter hasn't come home, or when my doctor tells me we need to talk. Let's keep some perspective here.
  20. Can I get your thoughts on this? I see many if not all reporters invite readers to correspond via email or Twitter. Do you do that voluntarily or is it a requirement of the job? And while I agree your respondents should keep it reasonable and not take personal shots, is the reverse also true? I ask the latter beacuse I have tried a couple times to disagree with a columnist and have a dialog only to get back snarky coermnts like "if you don't like it don't read my stuff". If that's the attitude, why provide contact info?
  21. I think each team is pleased with whom they have.
  22. Can you help explain then the experience many have had when they try to engage and are belittled by the reporter?
  23. Do organizations like the News, ESPN, the Athletic, etc. have rules that mandate their reporters be accessible via social media and/or email? If not, maybe the solution for writers is to simply not participate on Twitter or provide email addresses for comments. This of course does not excuse people being complete morons on social media, but if you are a reporter and open yourself to comments from readers you have to expect some negative comments back towards your writing.
  24. We belong to the Disney Vacation club so we go down to Disney World a lot, and the family always picks one day to what we call "represent". We wear our Bills stuff and see how many other fans we can find during the day. We always see a ton of other fans any time we're there.
