I would never argue with your brilliance. However it is strange to decide to put a guy back there who has been back there once all year. And if he is that good then why did they put another guy back the very next punt? But that would be arguing with your brilliance.

You know what will happen then don’t you? Go back and read through the threads about the throw to DiMarco. Threw it to him trying to let him make a play, DiMarco had position, jumps a split second later and he catches it. But who got teamed over it? Allen.

How long he can take that kind of pounding is the question.

In order: 1. WR. Need a game changer type. 2. RB: A big pound it type to pair with Motor 3. DE/Edge: Pass rusher 4. CB: can always use another CB For WR I’d draft one high and look to FAs to add a second. DE/edge same deal plus give Joseph a good shot at replacing Zo. RB in middle rounds or we could already have him in our rugby guy. CB in the middle rounds. I’d be using cap space to extend some guys that are integral.

Jackson is having as difficult a playoff game as he did last year.

Who is giving him credit? It was a dumb decision, but ultimately had no impact at all on the game. The 4th and 27 he has to try and make a play. An example of trying to do too much.

Were you laughing while he was making the run right before the lateral? (And yes the lateral was dumb). Were you laughing when he hit the screen pass to Singletary and the slant to Beasley to set them up to tie in regulation? Were you laughing when he put the ball right in Brown’s and Duke’s hands? Were you laughing in the first half? The fundamental difference between folks around here is that there is a group who can actually look objectively and see when aAllen made bad plays and good plays. And a group that only focuses on bad plays. Why the latter does that remains a mystery.

Lot of little mistakes, plus Watson doing his thing, is what lost the game. Not just our QB as some are wont to claim. I used to play competitive golf, amateur tournaments and such. Allen right now reminds me of what I saw in myself and others (and of course you see it on the pro tour as well), when you're in the hunt on the last day of the tournament. Until you've been there a few times, you don't know how to get things to slow down so you're thinking clearly and can just let yourself do what you've done countless times in practice. You press a little more than you should. You have to be in the experience, and oftentimes fail in the experience, before you can go on to win. Allen had his first playoff experience, and despite the several nutty plays he made It's a credit to him that he was able to lead them to the tie in regulation and have them right there in the playoffs. The more he experiences this, the more comfortable the situation will become and the better he'll play. That is, unless he becomes a total choking dog like some guys I played golf against in the day. But Allen doesn't strike me as a choking dog. ,

I imagine Joseph will get an opportunity. I also think they'll look for at least one more edge guy in free agency and/or the draft.

Ok, let's be objective. I know this rarely happens around here, but let's try. You say Allen "threw up all over himself". Really? Here are the plays people keep blasting him about; let's look with a clear eye at each: 1. The lateral. The lateral was stupid. However, the lateral came at the end of a play where Josh used his running ability to take off for a big gain and put the team in scoring position. And while lucky, the lateral had no effect on the outcome of the game. Funny how folks forget the run that led to the lateral at the end of the play. 2. The intentional grounding. The rush got on him quick, and what he should have done was throw the ball away to either take a shot on fourth down or take a shot at a long FG. That was a mistake. What also was a mistake was that Mercilous was on him within a second or two because Smith And Singletary forgot to block anyone on the play. But we ignore that, I suppose. 3. The fumble: Josh's fumble that led them to a FG hurt. He was in the middle of trying to figure out whether to run or pass when he got hit by Mercilous. We can all agree I think that he needs to work on protecting the ball when running. 4. The pass to DiMarco: DiMarco had inside position on the defenders, and if he had timed his jump a split second later he makes the catch, or at least should make the catch. So the he question is: why are we ragging on allen for that play? DiMarco makes the catch we kick the FG and win. Is it because he threw into double coverage? NO, because again DiMarco had position. Is it because DiMarco was a FB and not a WR? If so , that's on the play design and not the QB. Now let's talk about some things Allen did right: 1. The throws right on the money shown by billfan1959 above. Throws right on the money that guys did not come up with. Why is it that QBs on other teams rely on their receivers to make plays, and the receivers get criticized when they don't but in Buffalo if a receiver doesn't make a play it's Allen's fault ? 2. 16-0 lead in the first half. 3. 1:16 left and no time outs, and the QB leads the team down the field to tie the game, including (finally) a great screen to Singletary, and a great slant to Beasley to get the in position to kick the tying FG. 4. In OT, move the team down the field to get in position to kick the game winner, which happens if not for the Ford penalty and/or if one of three guys blocks Cunningham on the QB sweep. So threw up on himself? Think again. Take yourself out of your I didn't want them to draft him ergo everything he does is bad mode. And think.
