Guessing the 1st that the Texans traded is the lower of the two 1sts they have next year. So most likely Cleveland’s 1st next year. No way they are dumb enough to trade their own 1st, right?
-
Wow. Texans going big. Curious to see the compensation. Arizona was set on moving back. It won’t surprise me if the cost isn’t huge.
-
Looks like Arizona is still hoping to trade back. CJ Stroud going at #2 may have messed that up.
-
No surprise there. I just hope it’s the QB Frank Reich truly wanted. There were rumors when the trade first happened that he wanted Stroud and Tepper was enamored with Young. Reich said yesterday that there was consensus on the pick. But it’s not like he’d say otherwise even if there wasn’t. edit - this was the article I was talking about https://www.si.com/nfl/2023/03/13/carolina-panthers-david-tepper-frank-reich-split-quarterback-draft

Happy for Lamar and his family. They shouldn’t ever have to worry about money again! That has to be an amazing feeling. Hopefully he’s smart with his investments.

I’ll be watching at home while I babysit my sister’s puppy. I love when I get to watch her dog, so I’m looking forward to it. My dog loves it too. They play non-stop. I’m just hoping they let me watch the draft! lol

This is an undeniable upgrade at Qb for the Jets even if Rodgers is average. If he’s anywhere near MVP level it’s obviously a huge upgrade. So I do expect the Jets to be better next season. But they are also going to have a lot of pressure and expectations on them now. It’ll be interesting to see how the team + coaches handle the much higher expectations. Also, this could really complicate the Jets future cap situation. https://overthecap.com/jets-and-packers-agree-on-trade-for-aaron-rodgers As for the Bills, this makes our division harder. But we only play NY twice. It shouldn’t make our break our season.

I am probably not the best person to answer but I think a lot of it just has to do with people believing in the power of prayer. That alone can make group prayer helpful IMO. It can be comforting and uplifting (mentally) to that person and their family knowing others are praying for you, especially if you believe in the power of prayer. I know I’ve asked people for prayers before a family member was going in for major surgery or if they were going through a traumatic health event. Before my mom had open heart surgery I remember she asked her neighbor (who is very religious and attends church every Sunday) to pray for her and her neighbor had the whole church do a prayer service for her. My mom didn’t attend but just knowing they did it brought her a lot of comfort before she went in for surgery. She was scared to death and I think it gave her that little extra boost she needed to get through the whole pre-surgery process (all the tests and just the waiting. It’s scary!). I could be wrong but I think it’s more of a “human nature” thing, the same way some people are comforted by going to support groups.

The prayer service isn’t until Apr. 29th. I don’t know if we will get another update then or not. The letter by Jessica Pegula was the last real update that I am aware of. Here’s a link in case you haven’t read it: https://www.theplayerstribune.com/posts/jessica-pegula-tennis

Leafs really bounced back from that first loss. They beat Tampa worse than they got beat in the first game. Vegas with a strong performance too. It’ll be interesting to see how Tampa and Winnipeg answer back.

Monetizing the blue checkmarks makes no sense to me. It completely defeats their purpose. They are just supposed to be for showing that a specific Twitter account for a well known person is the legit one. Now all the legit accounts are losing them and so many random people have blue checks next to their name. Makes things so much more confusing. I could see paying for features like being able to send longer tweets and being able to edit. But not the blue check.

Definitely didn’t see that one coming! 😂 Vegas finished the season as the best team in the west and the jets grabbed the last wildcard spot. It would be amazing if the jets pulled off the upset! Agreed. I think things could get ugly if they have another 1st round exit. I think you might even see Kyle Dubas fired.

7-3 Tampa. Can’t say I’m sad about that! 😂 I don’t like either team, and I actually like Toronto the city/area more than Florida. But as much as I don’t like Tampa and think they are dirty I just have trouble genuinely rooting for the leafs for whatever reason (not even sure I know exactly why anymore 🤷♂️ lol). I feel like I should be rooting for Toronto though. Their fans have suffered a lot too and they live & die by the leafs. Plus I have no interest in Tampa making another run. I would say I am rooting for the Isles over Carolina, but I don’t exactly care either way. I do like the style of hockey Carolina plays, and their turn-around under Brind’amor has been really impressive. But I still hold a grudge from that 2006 eastern conference final! Plus, the Isles play in NY. So, home state and all. I hope the devils take the series. Rooting for Lindy Ruff! What an impressive leap his young team has made this season. They are fun to watch. Credit to Lindy for being able to evolve as a head coach. And yeah, Bruins looks unstoppable. This might be their year. I’d be happy for Ullmark at least.

AJ Klein Expected to Sign with Bills
BillsFan4 replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
Glad to have him back. I think he’s a good fit in this defense. -
Correct. “Rule 78.5: When the puck has been directed, batted or thrown into the net by an attacking player other than with a stick. When this occurs, if it is deemed to be done deliberately, then the decision shall be no goal.”

Well, I said at th beginning of the season that if the Sabres were at least able to stay in the playoff race till the end I would consider it a successful season and step forward in the rebuild. the Sabres missed the playoffs by a single win. Doesn’t get much closer than that! Just one more win and they’d have the last wildcard spot… 😩 I think it’s undeniable that they took a step forward this season. I’m proud of the progress they’ve made and excited to see what they do next year. Missing the playoffs by one win leaves me thinking back on a lot of different losses this season. Any one would’ve made the difference. The one that sticks in my mind right now - that loss to the Isles with the kicked in goal. NHL officiating is such a crap shoot. As much as I complain about NFL officiating, the NHL is worse. You never know how they will choose to implement a rule on a given night. It’s aggravating. Same goes for the NHL department of player safety. I swear they just throw a dart at a board to determine suspensions. Im not blaming NHL officiating on the Sabres missing the playoffs. But they sure didn’t do them any favors either. what really sunk Buffalo was that 9 game stretch in March with 8 losses.

How long until Rodgers starts to get mad at the Jets for thinking he’s not even worth a couple picks? 😂 Lets all take to Twitter and start playing on his ego! “Hey Aaron, the Jets don’t even think you are worth a mid/late 2024 1st! You ok with that??” 😂

I believe this means that even if Ryan a Johnson signed today he could no longer burn a year off his entry level contract. If he signs, I would think it will be on an ATO with Rochester. I am kind of doubtful he signs at all. I’m guessing he waits until he turns free agent in august. At least the Sabres get a comp pick if he walks! It would be a 2nd in the 2024 draft. Well, technically more like the first pick of the 3rd round since comp picks come after all the official picks of the 2nd round have finished. With how shallow our defensive prospect pool is, I’d rather Johnson sign. It looks like the Sabres weren’t willing to offer him an NHL contract this year to burn a year off his ELC though. Sounds like they want him in Rochester. I guess time will tell if that was the right move or not (if he walks).

I figured that was Anderson’s last game even though he said he was unsure about retirement before the game. Then the way both teams salutary him after the game and how Anderson himself acted, I was sure he was retiring. and he confirmed it after the game (as did the Sabres and Tuch): happy for him that he went out with a win! That win also gave him a winning record for his starts in Buffalo, so that’s cool too. it was really cool to see ottawa players stay on the ice to congratulate him too. Classy move! I can’t imagine there are too many players left from Anderson’s days in ottawa (if any…).
-
This also means that even if the Sabres had not lost to New Jersey and won all of their remaining games, they still would have missed the playoffs. That at least brings me some comfort. It would have hurt even more if everything had broke their way in the games they needed other teams to lose.
-
Well, 1 more game to go still. But it feels pretty meaningless now.
-
Well, I think that’s all she wrote. Down 5-2 with 2:00 to play. I don’t see 3 goals happening. I was hoping that if they didn’t make the playoffs it would at least be because of games that were out of their control. Oh well. They still made a valiant push for a playoff spot after that disaster 8 losses in 9 game stretch in March where they failed to even pick up loser points in all but 2 losses. They just left themselves too slim of a margin of error to overcome it. Im still proud of the progress they made this season. I said at the beginning of the year I’d consider it a success if they just stayed in the playoff race late into the season. The 2nd to last game of the year was meaningful. So id say they definitely accomplished that. Sure as heck a lot better than being eliminated from playoff contention in February…

Why do you keep posting here if you dislike us so much? I don’t know why you are so offended by fans thinking Levi would play in Rochester next season when even the Sabres head coach said it. and no matter what you say, it’s normal for young goalies to spend time in the minors, so it’s not unreasonable for fans to have expected that. It has nothing to do with a “loser” mentality or whatever else you’ve said. It has to do with having reasonable expectations for young players and not wanting them ruined with improper development and being rushed out of desperation. When you have to go back decades to point to the last goalie who didn’t spend time in the minors and had a successful career, it’s safe to say it’s out of the norm. The only goalies I can think of that didn’t spend time in the minors or overseas in a pro league in recent years are Carter Hart and Spencer Knight. Both were 1st or 2nd round picks, had excellent rookie seasons in the NHL and then crashed + burned from the grind of an 82 game season. Neither has recovered yet. It’s a lot to jump from college (where they basically only play a couple games a week at most and 30ish games a year) to the pros. Having said that, I don’t see how they can send Levi to Rochester next year unless they acquire a true #1 goalie to take his place. But I don’t see that happening. They are already riding Levi during the most important stretch of the season. He seems to already be their #1 goalie. Levi seems to have the mental makeup to succeed though. I have been super impressed by him so far! He’s the best goalie on the roster right now, that’s for sure. Ride him the rest of the way!

Huge win! Tonight couldn’t have gone much better for Buffalo except for Florida getting a loser point I guess. Holy cow was that an impressive shootout performance by Levi! Damn, this kid looks legit. still alive baby!
