  1. My statement...Metcalf will fall into the mid 20's or beyond. And zero chance McBeane takes him at 9. His talents are for naught in the system we are going to run. What we need is a possession receiver to move the chains. All the speed and strength in the world without production, and questions about past, and possible future injuries( muscle strains, etc) is not worth a top ten pick
  2. His work ethic and game film reminds me of Dareus. Sometimes you don't even know he's on the field. We can't afford that kind of mistake again. JMO
  3. I want no part of Gary. Was a number 1 recruit, never lived up to the hype. He's classic boom or bust. He takes plays off. He takes whole games off. He's talented no doubt, but no personal drive. I think he goes top 15, but at 9 there's no way I want somebody who can't be counted on to give his all , play in and play out.
  4. I can't say I see it with Arizona. They either stay put with Rosen or they get their pick of the litter without the contract and draft capital. So, Giants or Jags I'm guessing. Hopefully he goes to little bro in DC so we don't see him often, and to help a blue chipper drop a bit to us! Not to worry...that teams gonna be a mess for a few years. Besides, we seem to have Carr's number anyway
  5. Hopefully big brother can throw a bone to little brother. Keeps him out of our division.
  6. Oh...so two arrogant brats on the opposite side of the aisle?? Maybe they should be playing for the Redskins then? Lol
  7. That is nuts. As long as they trade him to somebody pick 10 or beyond, go do your Raider stuff Gruden. We want multiple QB's picked before #9 so we can get a blue chipper to fall to us?
  8. Him and Wrong Josh sound like they'll be best buds! 2 peas in a pod
  9. That don't mean he's the best football player in this draft. Hell, it don't even mean he's the best at his position in this draft
  10. #9: DL Ed Oliver Houston #40: C Garrett Bradbury NC State #74: WR Deebo Samuel South Carolina #112: RB Miles Sanders Penn State #131: Edge Joe Jackson Miami #147: TE Isaac Nauta Georgia #158: G Lester Cotton Alabama #181: OT Isaiah Prince Ohio State #225: G/T Andre James UCLA #228: CB Derrick Baity Kentucky I think this would be upgrades and starters aplenty
  11. 5'8 186lbs is awful small to be working the slot IMO. Speed does kill, but so does a hit from a LB or Safety
  12. I agree. I just think we should get used to Beane being steadfast in his approach. He's stayed true to his word and philosophy thus far, no reason to doubt him now. That said, it IS poker playing time of year
  13. Yup. Prone to Hamstring strains and cramps, especially in a cold weather town
  14. Metcalf is a physically gifted freak. That alone doesn't put him in the Bills' plans at #9. A trade down, maybe. Based on Beane's comments, he doesn't believe in the protypical "#1" receiver in today's NFL. Its all about scheme and matchups. Although he *may be worthy at #9, I'm not sold on his game to translate into that high of a pick for the Bills and the team they are trying to build. I also don't believe we will be going o-line at #9 either, as Beane has stated he does not think there is one he believes to be elite. Top ten pick has to be elite, or potentially elite for him to make that selection. Folks, face it....its gonna be one of Oliver, Josh Allen, Quinnen Williams, Christian Wilkens, or a Montez Sweat. It could very well be Byron Murphey or Greedy Williams as well. And lets not forget Devin White. Its the only value( possibly elite talent) worthy of #9 in the eyes of McBeane. Now, a trade down, and everything opens up for skill players/ O-line in the 1st round
  15. I moved to the Charlotte area in '95. The day the Panthers played their very first game. Polian, Reich, Metzelars, etc. It was easy to root for them. And this was before streaming, and any other options to watch the Bills other than the cost of Sunday ticket. So, I adopted them slightly, just to have SOME kind of football. Bills are my team. No others. But I still to this day keep an eye on the Panthers even tho I moved back north 10 years ago. My immediate family still live there. My folks are Bills first, Panthers a close second. Older brother Bills only. Younger brother Panthers first, Bills close second. But this allows us to spend time with, and root for each other.
  16. He's an interesting guy. A bit young, maybe should have stayed in school another year. But runs great routes and would be a great possession receiver on the outside. Would be a great fit for us at 40. And if he comes close to his brother's ability, it would be a steal. But then again, I don't think McBeane wants Zay in the slot, as he doesn't seem to have that quickness needed to succeed in that role. So, with Duke Williams signed, we may look to somebody like Deebo Samuels to play the slot, and just leave Zay and Duke to battle for the "x" position
  17. Yeah, they are just "wings" in Buffalo. And for crying out loud, Bleu Cheese or Move Please!
  18. FWIW, I heard today( from Bucky Brooks, I think) that although his body fat was a ridiculous 1.6, that he may be prone to cramps and muscle strains, i.e. hamstrings especially, on a regular basis. And especially in a cold weather town as is Buffalo. I never thought about that, but that may be a legit concern. I'm sure glad my job doesn't hang in the balance due to a wide variety of issues like McBeane has to filter through!
  19. Yes, I misspoke. Sorry bout that. I brain farted lol
  20. Is Murry better than Rudolph to the extent of making that trade? I mean, the Steelers have built their team around BIG Ben. And they're going to insert a 5'10" QB and think their scheme can just remain the same? And then to spend that money for AB's contract to boot? I don't see that happening
  21. I agree he is talented. But talent alone, without prototypical size/speed/etc does not always equate to a 2nd round pick. I think I've seen enough of McD and Beane to know they typically go for the prototypes, certainly in the top of the draft anyway. I think he's a quality player, and would fill a need, but other than his height/weight, I'm concerned about his hand size and more importantly his wingspan. Just doesn't fit with this FO's philosophy IMO Of course, there's always the Daboll connection, so maybe I'm off base
  22. Due diligence! According to Beane on WGR this afternoon, he's unsure if there is an "elite" talent O-lineman at #9. And I tend to agree. Jonah has the best resume out of the lot, but his measurements say Guard at the next level. Which is still a need, but having never played that position, I wonder if he falls due to his projection?
  23. Not a fan of Irv Smith's measurables. Not sure McBeane would be either
  24. I agree. In fact, I don't see any WR worthy of top 10 this year. I'm warming up to Hockenson, at 15ish, but not at 9
  25. Just wondering if he is coming back because he thinks he still has it. Maybe his mind is in the right place, but his body may not be. Therefore, I just wonder if he'd be taking reps from a young player who needs to develop and convincing the staff that he is still a productive player, although nobody will really know till after TC. I mean, don't get me wrong, he was great. But I think to myself if Jimbo would have retired and came back after a year, would that have been taking reps from another QB? Especially knowing that it was just for one year. I think the team would have felt a sense of loyalty, but that would have halted the development of "the next man up". Not saying that is the case, or there is/was better options for either team, but just wonder if he's holding on past his prime, at the overall detriment to his club
