Like I said, NO QB under 4 years in the league has won a SB in decades. Guess we will see if any of those teams win a SB before a rookie contract expires. Maybe then I'd think you have a valid point...but highly unlikely. Seems to me, Vet QB's win Super Bowls at a much greater rate. Like, say, 20+ to Zero?

Food for thought...no QB playing within his first 3 years has won a SuperBowl in, at the very least, decades. It doesn't matter if Josh is on his rookie deal or not. What matters is if he is a Franchise QB or not? And if so, he will be extended. A rookie contract does not, and has not, made a damn in regards to any window

IMO the cost was too high for the possibility that it would help Allen's career trajectory. It could have been a blow to his career as much as a help. First time Josh overthrew him, would he run his mouth and berate the young QB? In house, in media..wherever? It would take reps to get on the same page with AB as much as it would a stud WR via the draft. At a much cheaper cost I might add....

What I said was 2-3 years. You're saying this year or the year after...like...2 years? Not seeing your point of argument. And short windows are for teams who are secure at QB and built in the draft, that may require one two FA acquisitions to put them over the top. IE...the Cheaters. Not the Ram model. Not the Eagles with Vick & Co.

Why would you pay 17M a year for a WR when Josh Allen, along with most of the roster, are not in position to contend for SB's at this stage? We might be legit and consistent contenders in 2-3 years, when AB's contract would expire. So, pay that money just to let him mentor young receivers? And give up draft picks to boot? It was gonna be one or the other IMO. Big $, or Big draft picks. We aren't in position to do both and expect Big results. Therefore, I'm happy Beane looked into it, and content with him walking away

Bills have interest in Seattle DE Frank Clark

He's a FELON! ANY team that signs him should be worried about him not being available for Mexico City games, or Wembley Stadium games. He can't travel in those countries as of next year. Sorry, but the best ability is availability. If the NFL is looking to expand their brand internationally, as they are, He makes no sense to sign. Unless he gets a pro-rated contract. I mean, a one time woman beater is bad enough. Mistake. Learn. Move on in life. But a home invasion? No way does that say mistake. That happened prior to his assault on a female charge. I'm surprised he was drafted, let alone that high. P.S....I'm no choir boy -

I highly doubt Pegs or McBeane would even make a play for a convicted home invasion felon, and a convicted female assaulter. Let alone give up a top ten pick and then some, AND give him big money. This ain't gonna happen. Zero chance -
Lol...ok. It's not a copout. I said his play needs to improve. And if you think for one second that a pro bowl G compared to a rookie 5th round draft pick didn't make his play drop off, you are fooling yourself. Again, I said he needs to improve. I'm not defending him, merely pointing out a fact. FWIW pff has a grade of 69.5 on Dawkins, making him the 38th best OT in the league. Not LT....OT in general. Which is an above average grade

As a decoy, no doubt

5 slot receivers is an interesting way to go......

He did. He also is a convicted felon for home invasion. -
Just to point this out...10 picks is still 10 picks. McBeane have found gems in every round, as well as UDFA. Cookie was a 5th rounder. Taron was a 4th. Players get found at every level by good GM's. Beane is one of those. That extra 4, 5, and 7 could easily be a starter, and ST'ers, or depth... Or they could be packaged to move up and get a guy they really like. Either way, draft capital is draft capital. And I would rather see them make diligent moves with those picks, as compared to The Raiders wasting theirs on "sexy/splashy/trendy" picks Especially if he's an ugly guy lol
