  1. touche apparently he's not trying to be a linebacker either, or at least not trying enough: http://jetswire.usatoday.com/2017/01/04/jets-darron-lee-was-nfls-worst-rookie-linebacker/
  2. So I should basically view Peppers as 2017's Darron Lee?
  3. Yeah, echoing Mr. Vader above, I think the amount of commercials we'll get will be the amount that's thought to make the most $.
  4. 15/16 games last year though, and that was with Olympic instead of NFL training
  5. Always thought Goodwin was a better WR than given credit for because he didn't run only streaks and was a tenacious player in general. Not gonna lose sleep though.
  6. Well I admittedly haven't watched all his tape, and you sound like you have, so I'll have to defer re: coverage ability, but agree he has the skills for it. Will be interesting to see if McDermott thinks he can coach him up, and whether focusing on 1-2 as opposed to 4-5 positions will aid in his development. I want to clarify, I'm not necessarily advocating for taking him at 10, but just that it seems like a good marriage of talent and scheme. I understand his value is more indicative of a mid-to-late 1st round pick.
  7. I mean, he does tackle and make plays on the ball, even if he doesn't create turnovers. And my understanding is that he can cover. Is Byrd the best safety in the NFL because he had a few INTs early on? Plus, I'm not saying Peppers is Mathieu, but that he could be used similarly. Peppers is a decent returner in his own right. Would much rather trade down to get him, but I also see his value for our scheme and obvious emphasis on versatility.
  8. If he's tackling and making plays on the ball, then I'm just as happy to have him returning a punt as returning an interception. I think he very well might be viewed as the new age hybrid type. If you are saying few interceptions = no production, then I have to disagree. I'd have traded a couple of Gilmore's INTs for some more hard/technically sound tackles.
  9. This is your brain. This is your brain on illegal NFL celebrations.
  10. Re: bold - C'mon, I mean I agree he's not a slam dunk elite type prospect, but if anything he's proven that he can play football at a high level all over the field. I think a lot see Peppers as a Shaq Thompson/Troy Polamalu/Tyrann Mathieu type who makes plays and could very well end up a Pro Bowler (not that such a title means anything). But yeah, agreed that Tankersly seems like great value at 44. Darby, Tankersly, and Seymour CB1-3... OK.
  11. Just spitballing: 1 Peppers - LB/S - Michigan 2 Tankersly - CB - Clemson 3 Smith-Schuster - WR - USC 5 Davis - DE - UT-Chattanooga 5 Langley - CB - Lamar 6 Evans - QB - Virginia Tech I know, I know, not many like Peppers this high, but it just seems like a good fit schematically. Thoughts?
  12. I need to see more from Watkins in the way of consistency and availability (the best ability) to call him top 5 talent. He'd be lucky to crack top 10.
  13. Woodrum, obviously. But actually, Jones. If the price was right, would fans be against Fitzpatrick? Seems a top-end QB2 to me. Similarly am in favor of Keenum.
  14. I wish this was how Andre Holmes announced he was a Bill.
  15. I'll take a made-to-missed tackle ratio of almost 10:1.
  16. Even if his play did regress as the year went on, tough to say that he's not a key depth player at the very least.
  17. Have most definitely been hoping that Z. Brown, Robey-Coleman, Graham, and/or A. Williams come back at discounted rates. If those 4 guys are on the roster as depth, then we're in better shape than without them. Robey-Coleman as CB5 and Graham as S3 would be ideal.
