  1. Imo we only look at luck when it's convenient to the point we're trying to make, ie we've been unlucky to not have beaten the Chiefs in the postseason yet I'd argue we were much closer to missing the playoffs last year w a healthy Allen than we were to playing in a Super Bowl- that kind of good fortune gets overlooked
  2. Smaller guys have been tackling bigger guys since forever, they will manage
  3. Stay low and on balance Aim inside hip Drive through w shoulder pad, wrap and maintain active feet
  4. The plan was starting Peterman.
  5. We have to be able to separate the results from the decision Put it this way- if Allen had flamed out would you still be saying it was a well executed plan for bringing along a rookie QB?
  6. Sir Sean McDermott Fleming
  7. we're talking about the guy who's plan included a three way QB competition between rookie Allen, AJ McCarron, and Nathan Peterman? and then actually named Peterman starter? finally cut bait and threw Allen into one of the most talent deficient offenses in recent memory? that plan?
  8. people can deny it all they want but Allen and McDermott are a bad fit
  9. correct for the guys who never played- the hip drop they're trying to legislate out (we used to call it bulldogging in hs) is 100% the way you'd tackle someone you either didn't like or wanted to hurt
  10. I doubt he's feeling much pressure tbh Pegula and from the replies in this thread the fanbase at large seem content w our trajectory at present which is a virtually guaranteed playoff spot courtesy of Allen and an outside chance at an AFCCG
  11. That would be very disappointing
  12. I don't think Samuel is here to replace Davis on a 1-for-1 target share And I wouldn't pencil him in as the WR2 immediately, I am hopeful they draft a first round guy and have a legit competition for that spot As you say they have much different profiles/skillsets
  13. No doubt I wasn't making the point that the offense played well vs the Bengals but that the defense never does
  14. We gave up 172 rush yards on over 5ypc The Bengals didn't need to score a ton to dominate
  15. Ankou didn't play much it was Oliver at 75% of defensive snaps
  16. No doubt I mean how could they possibly have held up on the back end w th dline squaring off against the Great Wall of Hakeen Adeniji/Jackson Carman
  17. That's who was in on the first snap yes We were missing Jones and Miller, Oliver played his normal invisible in the playoffs self
  18. If I knew how I'd be coaching professional football Teams like KC and Cincinnati are somehow able to perform above their regular season level on defense in the playoffs We have seen the opposite phenomenon
  19. We had a lot more talent than that Bengals offensive line
  20. Look we all understand we are talking about the thinnest of margins when it comes to crunch time The concept that there may be the greatest room for improvement wrt an underperforming playoff defense in the defensive HC's management of it isn't ridiculous at all
  21. They weren't great, they were adequate I suppose we have to set the bar somewhere
  22. 😂😂 @mragscan speak for himself personally and again to the point of the thread- whether it's poor talent identification by Beane or poor usage/development by McDermott another first round pick on dline would be a misallocation
  23. A real triumph of defensive acumen
  24. I don't see any difference makers either, I'm saying chalking to the massive discrepancy in regular vs postseason performance to 'talent' or lack thereof is inconsistent analysis imo
