  1. look i liked him in minnesota too. the talent was undeniable. and i loved the trade for us but my point is that there are a handful of guys in the league, any given year to yr, who fit his profile at the time as well
  2. so last year is a little early but we have BTJ, Pearsall, Legette and Worthy, one of whom is legit right out of the box yr before Jaxon Smith-Njigba/Quentin Johnson/Zay Flowers/Jordan Addison...extremely strong group then the aforementioned Burks and Dotson but going right before them in the middle of rd 1 is Garrett Wilson/Olave/Jameson Williams, three excellent wideouts before that Bateman and Kadarius Toney and the year before that, picks at WR first round #16 and lower were CeeDee Lamb, Justin Jefferson, Jalen Reagor, and Brandon Aiyuk so thats basically 5 years of really strong WR talent at the back of the first
  3. what you're remembering is it was a much safer bet that he'd be moved because he had the temperament of a 6year old. i dont remember anything suggesting he was more or less likely to succeed in that role than the guys i listed
  4. correct and there are quite a few of those kinds of guys in the league. jameson williams, darnell mooney, devonta smith, higgins, addison etc
  5. i mean this has already kind of been proven, hasn't it...the jags just decided he couldn't play that role adequately
  6. no he was never a top 5 receiver until he got here. he was producing at the 15-20 range. 15 is a generous rank for him when arrived and we still happily sent the first rounder
  7. when we traded our pick for Diggs he was like WR 15
  8. @Doc Brownplz read this basically all the top wideouts mentioned predicted to go for MORE than just a first round pick another reason you shouldn't conflate trading a first round pick for a WR and drafting one in the first round
  9. Correct! And in response to your premise that we wouldnt have gone as far had James Cook's backup played instead of James Cook no less
  10. I don't think you do Because saying we wouldnt have made it as far w out one of our starters is akin to saying nothing at all
  11. We would have made it farther w Jahmyr Gibbs
  12. Barely an NFL talent if we are being honest Good on him for earning a second contract
  13. Brian Thomas jr was right.*****.there
  14. meh i walked off both mine tried to keep playing on the first one actually
  15. it's also hard for oline guys to hold blocks that long which is probably why a guy like chris clemons could go from a nobody to averaging double digit sacks when he had that secondary behind him...i mean i can't remember any seattle dlineman going on to do anything of note post legion of boom
  16. i was disagreeing w your contention that great corners cant make defensive lines look better revis did it for like a decade. it's so much easier to play defense when you can eliminate one half of the field
  17. ok if you think what was special about those seahawks teams was the front7 that's your perogative
  18. then stop trying to conflate the two 'spending draft capital'≠drafting a player
  19. red bryant and brandon mebane 😂😂 agree to disagree chiefs are piling up trophies w some good some not so good lines. not a lot of super bowls between the ravens and steelers lately
  20. id argue recent history is not the clear picture you make it out to be, esp considering SB winners i mean the browns and colts have had great olines the past what like 5+years and sherman along w help from earl thomas and kam chancellor absolutely made their dline look better than they were
  21. if your threshold for ignored is spent zero picks on offense then again yes, it hasn't been ignored. im saying that's a patently ridiculous premise and comparing league averages is very clearly the correct way to analyze their investments
  22. no. what's disingenuous is when people try to equate trading a first round pick for a player and drafting a player w a first round pick. cap issues aside (not insignificant), the diggs trade is a perfect example of what im talking about- using your most valuable draft asset in a given year on a good-not-great up and coming wideout instead of taking a chance on drafting a rookie...it's the safe play instead of taking a swing. those two strategies aren't equivalent
  23. Look I don't want to derail this into a coaching thing but what is the point of having a HC w defense background and spending all your top picks on defense WHILE refusing to hire top offensive staff? How is that smart resource allocation?
