The important difference between Kirby's statement and yours is that yours conveys finality, his does not. You enjoy, it seems to me, to make blanket statements to see what kind of reaction you're able to get, rather than engage in a conversation about a topic. Perhaps, you may consider adding those two words (so far...) or others like them to your future conversations rather than always making proclamations?
