  1. No. Excelling at QB doesn't necessarily mean you'll be good at evaluating talent. I'm all for getting a creative mind in there but they have to have some sort of GM or assistance GM experience. I'm a bit apprehensive thus far about the search for both teams. The Sabres seem bent on picking off more people with or formerly with Pittsburgh while the Bills might be doing the same with Carolina, if rumors are true.
  2. I like him so far but some of the rumors are concerning. IF the rumors that he had a lot of control of the draft are true will that continue with the next GM? Would strong candidates want to share what is typically GM power with their coach? Maybe it will stop and that was only because Whaley was on his way out but it'd be something i would question if i were interviewing.
  3. People shouldn't knock Chaddo for his career, I can see the POV of not wanting him because of the character flaws but the talent is there.
  4. I don't see what the big deal is here. He had a good college career, i would go so far and say a very good college career. The team surrounding him this year was weak and his stats and their record suffered for it AND he was injured. But, if you subtract the off the field issues he would be a highly rated prospect. I would happily take him with a mid-lower round pick. I get that we have other holes to fill. I have other holes to fill too. I'm not with the people clamoring to keep using first rounders on QB's but when you have a shot at one with a lower round pick it could be worth it. Sure there's risk there but his ceiling his much higher than Cardale's IMO. Grab him, give him time to develop and hopefully he matures and makes something of himself.
  5. ha ha, i see what you did there. No to Kaep. I'd rather give the spot to a rook and find a decent backup who has some semblance of passing ability and is not someone known for running.
  6. It's not like he's a lost cause. I'd be fine taking him after the 2nd not based on his last name but based on his college career as a whole. Alright, this is where I'm at too. He has all the talent in the world. He could be Manziel II but we don't know that. It's a risk to try him but you never know he may not get in trouble again for the rest of his career.
  7. Like him personally, he seems like a high character guy but I don't want a QB in the 1st and i doubt he'd be there in the 2nd. I wonder who the bills are looking as the #1 QB of this class. If he's there in the 2nd maybe then go for it, whoever that is.
  8. Do it. Please. I'm with the crowd saying commercials have ruined the game. I don't mind a few strategically placed. Who gives a damn about ugly unis? Have a few sponsors on the jerseys, keep the ads relatively small and limit commercials to 1-2 a quarter. Perfection.
  9. Good. Keep TT but keep your options for an improvement at the position open. If a guy is there, even in round 1, who you think is going to be a potential franchise player you still take him but let him get up to speed under TT (not that i think one would learn good habits from him). It's a tough offseason for QB's i think in most other seasons we'd walk from him. My tone here sounds like i don't like TT but I'm in the camp that rates him slightly above average as a QB.
  10. Let him go. His route running is awful. Hopefully Kolby is an improvement and we can use him as our speedster.
  11. That's a good one, I hadn't thought about AZ. That would actually be a perfect fit.
  12. I'm really impressed by Dan Quinn. One might think that coming in as a defensive guru would see a concentration on that side of the ball. Instead he saw his teams biggest asset and improved there. It may be a fluke, time will tell but I'd be psyched as a Falcons fan from a long-term perspective.
  13. I hope, if hired, he builds a bully.
  14. How are you making predictions on offense when we don't even know who our coach or QB are? 8 ball? I mean drugs not the magic 8 ball thing.
  15. 1- Keep TT or find suitable replacement in the draft. 2- Improve offensive line. 3- Improve the WR position. I'd like to keep Woods as a #3. 3- Improve the secondary, we should be able to get better at safety through FA or the draft. Grab a cheaper FA corner if one can't be found in the draft. 4- Prepare to possibly lose Kyle Williams by upgrading the defensive line.
  16. I think that's the main reason he gets dumped on. Getting rid of Shady then picking up Murray was moronic. Shady would have been perfect in that scheme. He should have never taken on GM responsibilities in Philly, me might still be there if he hadn't ruined their roster. We can't bring him here but I don't think he's as bad as others say.
  17. 2 CB's maybe. Hopefully you address a couple things in FA and the rest in the draft. Hopefully we'll be in a 4-3 next year too.
  18. I'm reading this as they are keeping their options open, not that they are definitely parting ways.
  19. That makes perfect sense to me. Be a bastard, then when you can trust your players more, ease off a bit.
  20. Awesome. John Murphy is the same guy every time this merry-go-round hits this stage. He says the same things every year sticking up for whoever remained with the team while never being critical in any way against them. Sure you'll see some critical comments about Rex now that he's gone but anyone that remains is off limits. He's probably a smart guy but he's so transparent it's not worth listening to him anymore.
  21. Is cutting and resigning Tyrod an option? I mean, paying him a decent QB salary IMO is not worth it but I'd still like to have him hold the reigns while we draft someone. I know it's slim pickings for QB's in this draft year but it's likely at least 2 of the guys coming out are going to be good. I don't know who that is, i would hope Whaley can get it right now. You learn from mistakes right? I realize that, if it's even possible, that TT will be open to be grabbed by someone else but if it's an option does someone grab him?
  22. Draft 1 or 2 QB's. Using those draft picks means we'll have to try and address some weaknesses via Free Agency but until we get the QB situation fixed this team is headed anywhere from 6-10 to at best 9-7. The defense won't be good enough to carry the crappy offense just like this season. No QB = continued mediocrity.
  23. Pittsburgh is playing 2 rookies in their secondary too lol.
  24. While I'm by no means banking on it happening crazier things have happened. If Washington mismanages the situation and Cousins takes insult to what they dohe can force himself out. After this season he would have to know he'd have his pick of several up-and-coming teams. I mean, he was somewhat insulted by them not offering something decent last year. I really think them franchising him might tick him off causing him to want out.
