  1. This isn't really a debate about the rules. The rules say that was a touchdown. This is a discussion about an official's misinterpretation of the rules.
  2. I wonder that too. If an official's call on the field is so immutable that even clear video replay can't correct it, what's even the point?
  3. So every toe tap catch in the end zone is actually an incomplete pass because they didn't complete the catch until they fell out of bounds? That's not how it works, but that's how they treated this play. The rules aren't as convoluted as people make them out to be; referees just screw them up sometimes. And sometimes, when a team is really lucky, they screw them up three weeks in a row.
  4. If that were the case, then any catch made with two feet in the end zone where the player falls out of bounds would be ruled incomplete because the player lands out of bounds. As soon as there is possession with the ball in the end zone, it's a touchdown-- provided the player maintains control through the ground. If he had dropped the ball as he landed, they could call it incomplete. But he didn't. He had two feet, a knee, and the ball in the end zone at the time of possession. Anything that happens after that is meaningless as long as he maintains control.
  5. You don't need to make a football move if you're already in the end zone. Otherwise toe tap catches in the end zone would always be incomplete.
  6. What a throw and catch.
  7. B-b-b-but what about forward progress?! Suck it, you atrocious zebras.
  8. Other coaches can, clearly. We are getting screwed week after week in the most ridiculous ways.
  9. Except in both cases they should win the challenge. Video clearly shows the call on the field is wrong.
  10. Holy ***** that is awful. He had two feet down AND a knee down with control of the ball over the line.
  11. Anything can happen in those 4 plays. When you have a clear touchdown, you challenge it.
  12. This team always looks dead in the 3rd quarter. Wake the ***** up!
  13. He's definitely been blacklisted after his altercation with that one referee. He is easily the most held defender over the past 5 years.
  14. Man Edmunds blocked himself on that run play. No reason to get hung up in the wrong gap there.
  15. Carr just throwing at Klein.
  16. Yeah I'm not a big fan of Star but those two were big boys who could push people around. What we have left is undersize players who get manhandled.
  17. This take aged poorly. Allen is back 3 minutes later.
  18. Jordan Phillips was always making plays. I don't know why we didn't keep him.
  19. Especially considering he hit Allen in the face before he grabbed the collar.
  20. Yeah we are 3-0 thanks to first half dominance and late game heroics by Allen. We are getting destroyed in the second half.
  21. Yeah I know. For some reason I expected the coaches to turn a physical freak into a decent tackler and gap stuffer once he got some experience in the league and wasn't the youngest player on the field anymore. Either the coaches or the player or both have failed thus far.
  22. You could make that argument for not addressing run defense and failing to scheme for multiple elite receivers. Granted, blame lies with players for a lot of the stuff that happened today but it sure doesn't look like the coaching staff is ever ready for the second half.
  23. I remember getting gashed on the ground with Star too. Edmunds needs to make a huge improvement against the run. He gets blown up and run over and misses tackles. I really thought he was going to look good this year but he's a liability right now. Yeah that's true. 3 out of 4 ain't bad unless the 4th gets beat every time.
  24. Complete? I really disagree with that. Secondary is one of the best in the league. Milano is awesome. I think we need a run stuffing tackle and linebacker for early downs and we're solid.
  25. I think you can rest assured we've all done a fair share of celebrating after the game today. Now we're talking about how it went from a sure thing to a near collapse.
