  1. The guy covering Frank Gore fell down. Gore might run down the field and score. There's no one within 20 yards of him. If the defense is in man coverage, and a defender falls down, you throw it to the guy he was covering.
  2. You love reading it but you joined 26 minutes ago? Hmmm.
  3. I agree. The talent is there, he needs to cut it out with the boneheaded errors.
  4. I get all my stats from NFL.com. Never seen any of these there.
  5. This is awesome. Thanks. It'll take a while to dig through, but a few initial reactions. 1. Allen is a very slow starter. His 1st quarter comp % is near the bottom of the league. 2. Allen is consistent over the course of a game (1st half QB Rating = 69.7, 2nd half = 69.5) 3. Looking at #2, given how good he is in the 4th quarter, he must be a complete train wreck in the 3rd quarter 4. He's very efficient in the red zone 5. He's pretty good on 3rd down Obvious points of emphasis: - improve in the 1st quarter - improve in the 3rd quarter - improve on 1st down Thanks for the link.
  6. Finally some numbers. Thanks. Do you have a link? I didn't know any of these were readily available stats.
  7. If you want to explain to me how I'm wrong, or how I'm off base, please go ahead. The stats, the game film, everything show a QB who is struggling enormously as a passer. I am a Buffalo Bills fan and the Bills have a team good enough to compete for a Super Bowl right now. They're elite on defense, have a good running game, and decent weapons in the pass game. The biggest issue as I see it is we once again have one of the worst starting QBs in the league who makes multiple mistakes in every game he plays. If Josh Allen or any other QB can't get it done and start producing and helping this offense score points, we need to find someone better. All I want is for this team to win a championship.
  8. It's not whatever. He's been at the bottom of the league all season in QB Rating. This isn't something that just happened yesterday. Allen is the same offense as he was last season, with better receivers, a better line and a better running game, and there's been no improvement to his stats. He still makes the same mistakes week in and week out. He doesn't need to look like Mahomes, but he needs to stop performing like guys like Blake Bortles, EJ Manuel, Mark Sanchez, etc.
  9. Stop it. 8 men in the box, and 7 blockers. How can someone have missed the safety if there aren't enough guys in blocking? And I don't care if a receiver is open or not. Tom Brady showed numerous times (1 or 2 were questionable) how to throw the ball at one of your receiver's feet to avoid a sack. He knows when he'll be under pressure, and when he knows he can't get to the 2nd read if the first guy isn't open he's throwing it at someones feet and avoiding the sack. Allen doesn't do that here, or ever really. He's completely oblivious to what's going on around him on this play, and the result is a sack that could have been avoided. I hate comparing anyone to Brady, and I don't want to make it seem like I expect Allen to do what Brady does all the time, but come on. Read the D, know you're not going to have more than 2 seconds to throw and get the ball out of your hand. Live to fight another day on the next down. Don't take a sack that will just kill a drive.
  10. This isn't true, again. He was 26th in the NFL in QB Rating before yesterday's game. 83.4 in today's NFL is horrible.
  11. It's not that Allen isn't elite, it's that he's still one of the worst passers in the NFL. I just want Allen to be average at this point. He needs to stop being a liability.
  12. I'm not making an excuse for anyone. The Steelers need to find a new QB. Same goes for the Panthers. Same probably goes for us.
  13. Tom Brady is a 6 time Super Bowl champ, who has a QB rating this year of 97. Allen is a guy who a lot of analysts and scouts didn't like, who has a career QB rating of 69. Big Ben is on IR with elbow surgery and is 37 years old with a lengthy injury history. Cam Newton is a running QB who has never been very efficient as a passer, who no longer runs because he's been injured so many times and is now an ineffective pocket passer. Comparing Tom Brady to any of these guys at this point in their careers isn't exactly apples to apples.
  14. This has nothing to do with the receivers. The issue in this clip is that the Pats have 8 men in the box and are showing blitz and Allen has 7 guys into block. The math isn't on his side. He doesn't have enough guys to block the number of potential rushers. Instead of recognizing this and changing the play, Allen takes the snap and takes his usual drop as if he has no idea that a blitz is coming. He takes a 5 step drop from shotgun, and makes no effort to get the ball out of his hands to a receiver to either complete a pass or avoid a sack. He just takes the sack, oblivious to the fact that the safety coming off the edge was coming unblocked. As happened numerous times yesterday, Allen really struggled to read the defense pre and post snap. This is an example of that.
  15. It's obvious man coverage (the Pats play it more than anyone else in the NFL). Allen fakes to Gore, looks up and sees that Gore is WIDE OPEN, and for some reason doesn't throw him the ball. If you identify that a defense is in man coverage, and one of the guys covering one of your receivers falls over, you throw him the damn ball. The decision making on that play was absolutely mind boggling how stupid it was. Nothing about it makes any sense unless he couldn't properly read a simple coverage.
  16. Are you serious? There is no one anywhere around Allen on any of those plays. That's pitch and catch, and he' throwing balls that are so inaccurate his wide open receivers can barely get a hand on them.
  17. Two QBs who look like they might be done in the NFL. Sure, there's more to it than just stats, but when your stats are as bad as Allen's, it's just a matter of time until you get benched. You can't be at the bottom of the NFL in passer efficiency and be a legit franchise QB. At some point the excuses run out and you actually have to put up numbers.
  18. How many franchise QBs struggle to throw a 5 yard out? The Gore play drove me crazy. The linebacker literally falls over, Allen sees it, and still doesn't throw him the ball. Such a boneheaded decision.
  19. There it is. 2018 - QB Rating was 68 2019 QB Rating so far is 69.6 The improvement people keep referencing isn't backed up by stats. His completion percentage is up marginally, but everything else is as it was a year ago, and the big change is his rushing yards are way down from last season.
  20. I don't agree. They're not perfect but they're not bad either. Allen ranks at the bottom of the NFL in both categories. Looking at the guys ranked all around him (or just above him since he's near the bottom), there's no one who I'd think is a legit franchise QB.
  21. QBR and QB Rating aren't the same thing.
  22. The Bills should pretty easily get to 10 wins and make the playoffs in a weak AFC. Miami x2, Washington, Denver, Pittsburgh and the Jets should all be wins. Those are all bottom 10 NFL teams. That puts us at 9 wins. Win 2 more from the Titans, Eagles, Browns or Ravens, and we'll be in the post season. Overall the Bills are probably one of the five most talented teams in the NFL. Their defense is elite, their offensive line is much improved, their running game is solid and they have enough weapons on offense. Their biggest issue is at the QB position. If they can sort that out they'll be contending for Super Bowls.
  23. Um, no they're not. Ryan is 20th at 93.1 and Flacco is 21st at 90.4. Josh Allen is 33rd at 69.6.
  24. Why do you care? Why do I have to explain myself to you? Your obsession with me and anyone who says anything critical about Josh Allen is extremely bizarre. I'm going to go ahead and put you on the ignore list because it's growing tiring having you respond to each of my posts with the same worthless drivel drivel time after time.
  25. His mechanics were a mess yesterday. He missed two wide open 5 yard outs on the first two drives. He hasn't completed a deep ball all year. The real problem though is the decision making. On the 2nd interception, he had (and looked at) Frank Gore wide open in the left flat, because the linebacker covering him literally fell down. Instead of taking the wide open check down that probably would have been a 30-40 yard gain because there was no one within 25 yards of Gore, Allen heaved the deep ball, poorly, and it was easily intercepted. Allen throws too many interceptions and fumbles the ball too many times. He needs to clean it up by the end of the year.
