  1. The Bills are in dire need of a "franchise" QB. They haven't had one since Kelly. There are none available in free agency or through a trade. I don't see any scenario in which they can't take a shot with Mallett, Ponder or Luck (if he leaves school) with their 1st pick. It's almost a no-brainer. I'd even go so far as to say draft two QB's next year. It's a very, very deep QB Class. Maybe the deepest of all time. What kills me is that if they are serious about rebuilding, why aren't they stockpiling draft picks for 2011? There are a few guys that could be moved for mid-round picks. They should sit down and come up with a draft plan now and nothing they have done in the draft over the last decade tells me they have one. I think Modrak buys a Sporting News Draft Magazine at the end of March and works off of that. Entire scouting budget is $7. Anyway, I'd be building a draft board now and in order go- QB, LT, WR, LB, OL, QB, DE. Then get some extra picks and start building depth. All that said, they will probably draft a RB or a safety in the first round. Just saying.
  2. With the threat of a NFL lockout looming and the prospect of joining the Bills, Luck will, in my opinion, stay in school for his senior year. Problem for him is the Bills will probably have the #1 overall pick in 2012 as well. Dilemma- what if Luck does stay in school? Do you draft Mallett? My guess is the Bills did not draft a QB in 2010 because of all the prospects coming out in 2011. Since the Bills always do the wrong thing, what exactly will they do? My guess is they draft a RB first overall next year and take a small, slow, spread offense type QB in the 5th round. I'm only half kidding.
  3. "2010 Buffalo Bills- No real victories, just moral ones" Weak. I know they won't beat NE, yet I'll still watch it. Why? Because I am insane.
  4. Don't think Spiller was drafted to block. He had a very small role last week and did next to nothing in the opener. If they had Lynch and Jackson and were not going to move either one, why the hell did they draft Spiller 9th? If the OL is so bad, why the hell did they not draft an OL at 9th? If you are rebuilding, where do you start? Offensive line! Consistently bad drafting year after year after year. Not saying Spiller is a bust, he may be great- in a YEAR or TWO. How is it everything the Bills do is wrong? Remember the Seinfeld episode where George did everything the opposite of what his first instinct was? That's what the Bills should have been doing for the last decade.
  5. On the field, off the field, on TV, on the radio, on the internet, that's what happens when you are the worst team in the league and have not made the playoffs since 1999 or won a playoff game since 1995. That's what happens when your starting QB and a captain no less, gets benched after two games because he sucks so bad. They are a joke. People laugh at jokes. Don't take it so personal. They aren't laughing at you. Last time I looked, the Bills will still be cashing game checks. I don't think they care they are being laughed at. They just do not have the talent to compete. Blame the old fool at the top. End of story. It is Ralph Wilson and his cheap ass ways. Did he spend money on scouting? NO. He let Modrak run it for a decade and every draft sucked. They have failed at 10 straight drafts and 10 straight free agencies. Cheap, bad coaches, lousy coordinators, Anyone good we had, he wouldn't pay. Then he overpaid to try and cover his mistakes. They have epically failed at EVERYTHING they have done for 10 years. NO results on the field. NO playoffs. ONE year with a winning record. Everything is nickle and dime to save money and this is what we end up with. If it isn't the ONWERS fault, tehn who the hell is to frickin blame??????
  6. It really changes nothing except their record would be 1-2 instead of 0-3 and give the delusional fans false hope that Fitzpatrick is the answer. He isn't. Unfortuantley, I think NE is pretty po'd at their effort against the Jets and they are going to take it out on the Bills Sunday.
  7. Moving from delusional to insanity. 2 games back is as close as the Bills will ever get to the top of the division this year and that's only because they have only played 2 games. They are not going to win more than 2 games this year. That's reality.
  8. Forgot about Craig Nall. ProFootball Reference. Has everything you ever wanted to know. Year by year, full rosters, every game, every stat. Awesome site. I'm a stat geek. Love looking that stuff up.
  9. Todd Collins (13 Starts- all in 1997) Alex Van Pelt (11 Starts: 97- 3, 01- 8) Doug Flutie (30 Starts: 98- 10, 99- 15, 00-5) Billy Joe Hobert (1997- Played in 2 games. Didn't know plays) Rob Johnson (26 Starts: 98- 6, 99- 1, 00-11, 01-8) Travis Brown (Played in 1 game in 01, 2 in 03) Drew Bledsoe (48 Starts: 02-16, 03-16, 04-16) Shane Matthews ("Shane Matthews Band") Kelly Holcolmb (8 Starts- all in 2005) JP Losman (33 Starts: 05-8, 06-16, 07-7, 08-2) Trent Edwards (32 Starts: 07- 9, 08-14, 09-7, 10-2) Gilbran Hamdan (Did not play in a regular season game) Ryan Fitzpatrick (9 Starts: 09-8, 10-1) Brian Brohm (Started 1 game in 2009) Not exactly stellar.
  10. Instead of bitching, crying, complaining, telling people what to say or not to say, endless debates about garbage players, bad trades and bad drafts and the general ineptness of the owner and front office, why don't we embrace the fact that we may be witnessing history? We could be only two games into the absolute worst season in the history of the NFL. Best the Bills can do is tie Detroit at 0-16. However, if they score fewer points and give up more than Detroit did, they can be considered the worst ever. I say we cheer for that and get behind this clueless, talentless, truly bad team and organization. A couple wins means nothing. Let's shoot for an o-fer, a big donut hole, the ultimate in suck. Let's cheer for an utterly disgraceful season. 0-16. BILLIEVE!
  11. Detroit is better than Buffalo. The Lions have actually been rebuilding for the last couple of years while the Bills continue to spin their wheels. Everyone counting on a Bills win over Detroit on Halloween, think again.
  12. Wow. What a mess. Bailed on Trent after two games. I'd say he is done in Buffalo. Makes you wonder why they did not draft a QB in the first few rounds, trade for one or sign one as a free agent. Now they panic after two weeks. Most inept BS organization ever. They continually make huge mistakes and when they finally realize it, it's way too late to do anything about it. Really, Fitzpatrick isn't much better and is not the answer. They are still a one or two win team at best.
  13. Nothing. Why do you think they care? They haven't listened in, well, probably 51 years other than RW getting rid of Jauron. Even if the stadium is half empty for 3 or 4 games, does anyone think that will change anything? No. All RW will do is threaten the fans with moving if people stop showing up. That has nothing to do with it anyway. We are screwed. People have their heads in the sand for the last decade? The fanbase just starting to wake up to the decade plus of sucktitude? Too late.
  14. Houston may indeed make the playoffs. They have a very good QB and they have the look of a team going places. Beating Indy was a monkey off their back, 2-0 is a good start. Although, I recall a team a few years ago that started 4-0 and didn't even have a winning record so you never know.
  15. I don't know why people keep suggesting trades for Lynch. He isn't going anywhere for anyone. He was a 1st round pick. They are not going to admit their mistake by taking a retread or anything less than a 1st for him. He will walk as an unrestricted free agent and they will get nothing for him. That's how this "organization" has operated for a long time. They have blown every 1st round pick and/or draft trade for a decade. They compound their mistakes by not admitting their mistakes and moving on. How Modrak is still employed escapes me. Why do you think he started today and had 17 carries or whatever? Showcasing him in hopes that there is a team as stupid as the Bills are and offer a 1st round pick for him or for Fred Jackson. They are beyond incompetent at OBD and have been for years.
  16. He will get 2.5 to 3 years just like the last few bums. Only this time, Chan will have a worse record. 0-16 after year one will be a tough hole to climb out of. In 2013 or 2014 the next bum will be brought in.
  17. Right here. I said they would go 2-14 and actually hope they go 0-16. Have to totally bottom out. I am fine with how horrid they are. Really. Thinking of having a shirt made. "2010 Buffalo Bills- "0-16"- Billieve!"
  18. I will. +Positives+ Held Green Bay to less than 40 points. Held Rodgers to only 255 yards passing. Green Bay only had 91 yards rushing. Bills only had 2 turnovers. Edwards broke 100 yards passing. Spiller had 55 "All-Purpose" yards. Bills defense forced two fumbles. Bills converted 33% of their third downs (4/12) Moorman averaged 46.4 yards per punt. Bills had 192 yards on kickoff returns. There you go. 10 positives. Not so bad after all.
  19. Looks like Locker was all hype and no substance. He could be decent someday. Said he has only played 15 games as a drop back, pocket passer. It shows. Not 1st overall material at this point, not even 1st round material. Mallett looks like a first round pick so far. We'll see after Alabama next week. Luck is on ESPN2 now against Wake Forest. 21-7 Stanford in the 2nd.
  20. Trent.....Edwards.....contract......extension. Shudder. Unless he turns into the second coming of Joe Montana, he's done after this year.
  21. A few games this season here will be lucky to get 40,000. I do remember a few years when there were 20,000 or less at some games and the Bills have had quite a few games blacked out throughout the years although not too many recently. Three examples that I recall: Comeback game vs Houston, Jacksonville playoff game, 1998 home opener. Think it was against Minnesota. Back in the mid to late 70's and through the 80's, almost every game was blacked out. I have a DVD of a 1977 game vs. Atlanta. It was raining but it was only October 16th so it wasn't cold or anything. Bills won 3-0. Attendance was announced at less than 20,000. There may have been 10,000 people there. Shocking that so few people were there. I also remember a Thursday night game, think it was 1980, against Ron Jaworski and the Eagles. Blacked out but the one cable channel (out of the three or four there were at the time) showed the first half illegally. Miami opener in 1980 was blacked out too. So, yeah, Bills are lucky to have had such strong attendance recently, was not always like that.
  22. Man, if Lindell had to punt, i'd bet over 60 points for the Packers. No joke.
  23. Never said he couldn't tailgate and continue his tradition, just has to move to a different lot. What's the big deal? As an aside, the younger people who think Bills football is just all about getting falling down drunk before the game and not remembering anything, well, I don't understand it and I don't know why that is acceptable anymore and sadly that's pretty much what Sunday's at the Ralph have turned into. I used to drink heavily before the games on occasion back in the late 80's and early 90's. Just a waste of time and money. I have seen my share of crazy things inside and outside the stadium. Fun when they were winning and I was younger I guess. Just seems sad to me now. I don't know if these kids feel it is a "rite of passage" or whatever. Times change. I think if that kind of stuff was eliminated, you'd see more families coming to the games and the tailgating scene actually improve. Standing around chugging beer and crown royal until you puke at 11am on a Sunday AM, getting into fights and shouting MF or whatever? Not cool.
  24. In addition, last week the NFLPA sent out voting cards to all of the players. The vote is to decertify the union. If that happens, then it will be illegal for the owners to lockout the players. This would set the stage for a strike. In that case, the owners could use replacement players. Also, the UFL could quickly expand to fill the void if there is no NFL season in 2011. Players not under contract could play in the UFL. There is always college football on Saturday. Trent Edwards does suck.
  25. Right. 2011 Draft would proceed as normal. My question is would anyone drafted actually sign if it looks like there is not going to be a season? With talk about a rookie salary cap in the next CBA, I could see where a player is drafted and the contract money is really reduced and they don't really want to go to the team they were drafted by, why sign? Play a year in the CFL or UFL. If there is no season, would they just go back into the 2012 draft or would their rights be retained by the team that drafted them in 2011? If the players decertify the union, there can't be a lockout. The players could strike though and then the NFL could use replacement players. Where's Falco? Another question is what happens in 2012? Do they go with the 2011 draft order, pull ping pong balls out of the hopper? If they go with the 2011 order, it's possible the Bills could have back to back #1 overall picks. Ah, they could have that anyway.
