  1. They will call it once or twice a game on the most egregious offenders <COUGH> taylor <COUGH> but you can get away with it a ton. They called a hold on Edwards when Josh stepped through the B gap.
  2. I was 12 years old and it was horrible. I agree with you BTW, you pay your kicker all year just in case they have to make that kick. If they aren't pretty close to a mortal lock from any reasonable distance in that situation you need a different kicker and you keep looking until you find a Tucker or a Butker or a Vinatieri. Bass isn't that guy. Could he make it? Sure, he could. Do I trust him to step up and nail one? Hell no.
  3. Discussing the current playoff situation for a moment. If it ends up the way it currently is it has the potential to line up nicely for us. Denver, then Pittsburgh if they beat LA, and on the other side of the bracket you'd have Baltimore and Houston knocking one or the other out, then the winner playing KC and again, knocking one of them out. Potentially we could get to the AFC Championship game and only have to play one of Houston, Baltimore or KC with 2 of those 3 options being at home. That's a pretty nice draw if I'm honest and a potential downside to being the 1 seed. Yes you get a bye, but barring upsets it also probably lands you Baltimore in the Divisional and then probably KC in the Championship. Which last one? Bass in the playoffs last year? Yes. For me it was lower stakes because in my head they'd already lost by kicking that at all. Needed a TD on that drive and didn't get it. Bass making that kick would have prolonged the inevitable.
  4. I would need more Xanax than has ever been made in order to watch that kick.
  5. Butker 100 times out of 100. Let's be clear, I have nightmares about Bass lining up a game winning FG in the SB.
  6. Well, no because of Butker's injury I don't trust him out that far right now. I don't trust Bass from any distance and honestly I probably never will. Every single kick with him is butt clenching.
  7. Anything less than 45 Butker. If it's more than 45 and I'm stuck with Butker I'm going for it.
  8. How long is the kick?
  9. An accurately called false start on a right tackle? An inopportune hold? Another team actually being competent at the end of a game?
  10. It wouldn't shock me either. They've skated by an absolute ton this year and it doesn't take much to tip those things the other way.
  11. Bengals without Mixon are a different animal. It might look like the last two games with the number of points scored, but I like the matchup better this year than in previous years. Put it this way, I'd rather play them than Miami a 3rd time. I just don't like having to play teams 3 times in a season. It's a tough ask no matter who the opponent is. Broncos are a tough out. Playing well overall, tonight's game notwithstanding.
  12. the whole Taylor Swift BS vaulted KC into the lead. I still can't stand Brady though.
  13. That's true, but even at the time Roethlisberger was much more highly regarded and it was clear that Losman was plan C.
  14. There are 31 other teams. I doubt he sees himself as getting screwed. More like grateful to continue to be paid to play the game.
  15. That's should be a qualification. Two contracts with Buffalo, minimum. Or something really amazing in the one. Antoine Winfield was a MUCH better Bill and I wouldn't have him in either.
  16. They didn't budge because the price wasn't paid. Everyone and everything has a price. Tell me that a decade plus of Roethlisberger wouldn't have been worth whatever it took to move up.
  17. The field is my biggest concern. I know they have a plan. Plans don't always work out. Hopefully theirs does and the technology they are building works they way they hope it will to keep the grass growing in the deep winter months.
  18. So we are bringing in a guy who got out of Buffalo as fast as he possibly could? Was nobody else available?
  19. KC has nowhere near the cap space to eat his contract via a waiver claim. I'm not sure anyone does. If that were the case he would clear waivers and be able to sign anywhere he likes. Correction, Washington, SF, and Detroit might have enough to claim him in such a scenario. Those would be the playoff teams so far as I can tell
  20. Wrestling. It's called checking the oil.
  21. Very much this. Which is why I can't imagine someone ahead of us in the order blocking us as well.
  22. I dunno, tonight looked a lot like capitulation.
  23. He did have some when he was younger though and he'd get hit a lot less in the modern game and not have guy going at his knees constantly so it's hard to say. He's less mobile than most of the current top guys though. He'd be like a Stafford IMO
  24. Out of all the previous rock bottoms, have they finally plumbed a new depth tonight?
  25. It's the game before Christmas. Merch sales my guy. Merch sales.
