  1. "NFL Network's Ian Rapoport expects the Bills to cut a quarterback after naming Tyrod Taylor their starter." " E.J. Manuel seems like the obvious choice if Buffalo decides to release someone, but Matt Cassel's $4.75 million cap charge could earn him the boot. The Bills would get all of that $4.75 million off the cap by releasing Cassel." Just noticed this at Rotoworld EDIT, oops forgot link http://www.rotoworld.com/headlines/nfl/316154/rapoport-expects-bills-to-cut-a-quarterback
  2. really easy lesson to learn here never, ever choose with your heart. so I stay away from everything Buffalo usually. except for recently the defense, Freddy, and Carpenter I wouldn't touch Taylor or Kaepernick. But, that's just me.
  3. CBS Sports Bills depth chart at RB Running Back L. McCoy -Injured F. Jackson A. Dixon -injured K. Williams -injured
  4. The last part of that statement probably holds a lot more truth then most will think about.
  5. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/08/31/bills-going-with-tyrod-taylor-as-their-starting-quarterback/ Interesting deflection after releasing Fred
  6. You would have thought Freddy before this decision, and now after I have no idea. i mean this FO must have someone in mind to replace him as the #2 guy, and I suppose we will need to see.
  7. Look at that story, and at the Bottom of the page it says Josh McCown might sign with the Bills ... ohhh yea, a big lead Another story on Eric Wood from 2014. Good story tho, and Fred was one of the most underrated RB's in the league.
  8. I was thinking 3rd down situations from a pass catching standpoint, and in all honesty he is still probably the best on the team in that aspect. Best pass blocking back aside from Shady, and probably comparable. Look back over the last five years, and the Bills have fielded some of the very worst offensive lines in the league. No RB on the Buffalo Bills was good in third and short over that time. Yet Freddy almost always found a hole when Lynch & Spiller could not. 6 RB's still on the roster, and I see only one even close to as good as Fred. Sorry, still don't get it Bryce Brown Boobie Dixon Bronson Hill LeSean McCoy Karlos Williams Cierre Wood
  9. For a team that is supposedly going to run the ball more then any other team in the history of the game ( Rex's words) Then I just don't get the move, as so many have been already been injured in pre season. And sorry I don't trust Bryce Brown not to fumble when he is in the game. Not to mention when Shady gets injured or just can't find a hole. Just remember that Fred was so superb at finding a crease when Lynch / Spiller couldn't.
  10. Man, you can really see who the front office are in this thread. The Bills cut the most beloved player in years, and here they are defending the move. The guy was my favorite Buffalo Bill over the years. You can bet some team will pick him up and make the front office look stupid for releasing him.
  11. This move is probably to justify the trade for Bryce Brown, and now keeping him The difference those two players is age, and one being a top NFL RB. Every time he fumbles I'll think of Freddy!
  12. I'll bet! great 3rd down back, best blocking RB, and fast enough to outrun most of that steelers secondary for 41 yards.Locker room leader, team leader Its stuff like this that I just don't get because it sure didn't look like the guy hit the wall to me.
  13. What team GM in their right mind would trade for an injury prone running QB who is so twitchy he can't stay in the pocket to make throws. EJ is showing way better then RG3 right now. That QB and his arrogance got the guy who drafted him fired for wanting to bench him to further develop him. Washington is one of the worst teams in the NFL right now.
  14. Good thing Good thing Buddy Nix traded up into the 3rd round to steal him Buddy stated after the draft, "see, I make trades" Mike Mayock during draft was scrambling to find info on him just after the Bills drafted him. They went to a commercial and when they returned Mayock stated he had him as a 5th round player
  15. Can we wrap him like a mummy, and bury him in the sand in Egypt?
  16. EJ preformance 7 of 8 for 170, 2 TD's Taylor 12 of 13 122, ran for a TD Cassel 6 of 7 for 38 yards A...B...C!!
  17. My only prayer this doesn't go the way Chan Gailey handled it in 2010 by saying all three looked about the same. Then the Bills started the guy who looked the best in training camp-pre season, and ended up outright cutting him after two regular season games. Sorry I can't help it but Matt Cassel looks exactly like Trent Edwards with his "safe", and efficient check down passes that don't result in TD's. 6 of 7 for 38 yards... EJ went 7 of 8 for 170 yards, 2 TD's EJ or TT for me!
  18. I got a kick out of Rex Ryan & co that kept putting EJ into the game to see how he would do, and all he did was impress. I'll be kinda disappointed if EJ isn't the starter. No offense to Tyrod Taylor but he looked really good in Baltimore's pre season games, and not so great once he got to play in a real game. EJ only has 14 games under his belt being led by idiots who had no business running an NFL offense. Now imagine how much he can grow under real NFL coaches going forward, and with Shady McCoy running it, Sammy, Harvin & Woods catching it. Just my opinion.
  19. Precisely! I'm an EJ fan, and am hoping he gets the nod to start. I'm fine with any of them starting as long as the team wins, and would not like to see a revolving door at the position. With EJ starting I see Taylor getting some playing time in the wildcat, and 2 point conversions from time to time. Cassel 3rd string or cut to have Simms as 3rd string would be fine with me. That last sentence really gets me when the insiders here really throw hate / dislike from the FO on EJ basing their opinions from the buffoons with the previous coaching staff.
  20. Should the team start Cassel or EJ I can see Taylor getting lots of plays as a WC QB or going for 2 pts. I'll be kind of shocked to see Cassel as the "safe" option as starter
  21. I'd also start EJ mostly because he has the most upside to be that strong armed pocket passing franchise QB the Bills have been looking to find since Jim Kelly. I like Tyrod Taylor, and he does bring that excitement to the game in his ability to run when the pocket breaks down or there is nobody open. The problem I have is that very, very few running QB's have great success or longevity running the ball. Mike Vick is a good example as those running QB's usually don't last a season. Vick has played 12 years in the league, and only had one season where he played in all 16 games. He went 7-9 doing that. Colin Kaepernick is a taller version of Taylor, and like Vick has had difficulty in developing as a pocket passer. To even be mentioned with those two QB's Taylor would need to take a team to the playoffs. All the guy has done is what he has done before, looked good in pre season. RG3 is another example of a running QB with a history of injuries, and not adapting to becoming a pocket passer. Like I said, I'm hoping its EJ If Cassel gets the start I'll really start to question the coaches thinking
  22. I'm not listening to the radio, media or the insiders. I'm thinking Rex / Roman will start the right guy
  23. BTW, this years EJ is the result of having an actual NFL offensive coordinator coaching him. I am drooling over the thought of Shady McCoy, Sammy, and Woods playing in the opener. This years Bills offense should be able to keep step with Mr Luck
