  1. Clay!, and Phins offsides
  2. man I'm so happy to see the Bills D coming after Whacker Lets hope Bills O stays hot!
  3. makin em pay with Clay
  4. Offense #2 in the league in rushing, and with 4 rushing TDs. Karlos Williams with 2, Dixon & Taylor with one each. The #1 offense in rushing TD's. #4 in offensive points, and # 16 in offensive yards. (Whoda thunk it)? Defense #24 in points against, 28th in yards allowed. 32nd in passing attempts, 32nd in passing yards allowed. #1 in rushing attempts, and #2 in rushing yards allowed.
  5. OK Yolo I give up. What does PTBS mean? I've heard of PTSD. Please Text Back Soon? Pirates of The Burning Sea? Programmable True Bypass Switcher? Pine Tree Branch Station? Persistent Turn Based Server? Parking Transit Benefit System? Permanent Total Body Shimmying? Persistent Toxic Bioaccumulative Substances? Post Traumatic Brain Syndrome? Problematic Toy Bull Scheisse? Anyway, I'm not worried about the Bills secondary this week if the Bills play like they did against the Colts. If the defense plays like they did against the Patriots, and drop Kyle Williams into coverage or have Jerry Hughes covering Jordan Cameron then it could be a long day for Buffalo. The bigger concern is if the Miami defense stacks the box the entire game, and neither the Bills QB or OC can figure out a way to defeat it.
  6. That's not what I said at all. In fact i mentioned "The Bills are 28th overall on total defense, 31st in pass defense, 2nd in the NFL in rush defense all for obvious reasons." Those obvious reasons were that the Patriots threw it 59 times while rushing it only 15 times. In your post you stated, "your looking at Rankings after 2 games ?????", and as I stated those rankings matter. Its not my fault Rex Ryan had his head up his posterior for the New England game. Lets hope he goes back to what worked against the Colts for this upcoming Miami game
  7. Defensive struggle 10-17 with one team starting to drop like flies after the 4th quarter
  8. Yep. I agree. This makes perfect sense! In the movie dumb, and dumber to one of the boys pretended to be catatonic for 20 years just to fool his friend into wiping his butt for so long.
  9. gotta a player who plays CoD, and will let his play on the field do his talking for him !! Man, I hope Ryan doesn't out think himself again this game
  10. Rankings matter no how many games are played. If the Bills were the #1 defense in the NFL after two games then I'm certain I'd be reading a lot more about it here. Many Bills fans were predicating the Bills having the number one defense this season, and it can't be anything other then disappointing to see the Bills near last so far. The Bills are 28th overall on total defense, 31st in pass defense, 2nd in the NFL in rush defense all for obvious reasons. 14th in sacks with only 4 after leading the league the last two years, and below is a big reason why. Will the Bills finish the year with these stats, doubtful. But then if Ryan keeps dropping his D linemen into pass coverage game after game it could get worse. A good coach understands what his players do best, and then puts them into position to achieve that. Dropping Kyle Williams into pass coverage instead of rushing the passer is a ridiculous way to utilize one of the leagues best DT's. Same thing with Jerry Hughes being asked to cover Gronk, and both things actually happened last game.
  11. Neither actually,I think its going to be a defensive struggle this game. While Taylor is currently lighting it up in fantasy points I tend to stay away from Bills players because I always think they will do well, and once I start them they usually don't.
  12. Yep. once the QB sees the defense move up closer to the line to stack 8/9 in the box. Just go to a spread offense with 3-4-5 WR's, and run slants to Sammy or Woods, or draws to Shady. The defense will need to go nickle or dime to cover the extra WR's, and that's where the miss match begins for the run game because now they have a DB covering the RB's instead of a LBer. What got me with Marrone / Hackett is when the defense stacked the box they went to a max protect package with extra TE's. Anyway, I still can't figure out why the Bills don't use Sammy in a lot of screen plays, as he was so good at that in College.
  13. From Joe Buscagula All-22 review on Tyrod Taylor. 26) QB Tyrod Taylor "The blue print of how to stop Taylor is now out, and it’s on him to prove teams he can overcome the latest defensive scheme against him and regain some success for the team. On the first drive of the game, Taylor through short passes for yards after catch, and was able to use his legs. The drive resulted in a touchdown, and then the Patriots adjusted. They decided to take the short throws away from Taylor, kept eight-to-nine players in the box to take away his mobility, and dared him to throw it deep. Really, the Bills quarterback was just hesitant to do so, as it’s evidenced by the two tweets below: As the game went on, the Bills had to sling the ball around, and the Patriots backed off their game plan with the contest — at that point, at least — well in hand. Taylor will see a similar defense against the Miami Dolphins, and now it’s on him to correct the problem. If he doesn’t, it could very well be a festering problem. It’s still a bit too early for that, though. http://www.wkbw.com/sports/bills/joe-b-all-22-review-grading-bills-vs-patriots While Taylor did struggle, there were still some positive takeaways from the game, especially when the Patriots built up a lead and allowed Taylor to have more time in the pocket. While this may not seem like much, Taylor showed plenty of arm talent which will be critical to the Bills' success moving forward. http://profootballspot.com/index.html/nfl/afc-east/buffalo-bills/buffalo-bills-all-22-review-week-2-vs-patriots-r12858/ Just the highlights will tell the story and notice how many the Patriots are sending after the score is 37-13. Pats rushed only four on the Woods TD, and only rushed with three on the Taylor run for a TD. Then the Pats defense only four on the Watkins TD. The Patriots changed their defensive game plan in the 4th QTR,and only rushed 4, and sometimes 3 while sending more into coverage. They stopped stacking the box with 8/ 9 /10 which gave Taylor more time in the pocket. http://www.nfl.com/videos/buffalo-bills/0ap3000000534033/Patriots-vs-Bills-broadcast-highlights
  14. I honestly have no idea why Ryan stayed with that lame dropping in to coverage the entire game. Jerry Hughes on Gronk, and Kyle Williams dropping into coverage... I seriously doubt he will be foolish enough to think that Tallywacker is as big a threat as Brady and not blitz. Then knowing that the Dolphins O line could be missing Brandon Albert, and their TE's Cameron, Sims are not 100%. Then more good news is Cameron Wake had a hamstring issue, and RB Lamar Miller has had a bad ankle. I look for the Bills defense to go nuts on the Phins QB just like they did against Luck. I'm more concerned about the Bills getting their run game going to help out Taylor.
  15. That going for it on fourth down at the 48 definitely came back to bite him in the ass That Patriot defense just isn't all that good, they are ranked 31st in the NFL right now. Re watch the game, and you should notice that after the start of the 4th qtr the Patriots never came after Taylor with more then four, and thus went into a prevent type defense, and that almost bit him in the ass too.
  16. I don't think the NE defense is really all that good as they are currently ranked behind Buffalo at 31st. Then if NE can shut down the Bills O for three quarters by stacking the box with nine, ten defenders with Wake, and Suh. It could be really rough going for Buffalo if they don't figure out a way to move the ball against a stacked box. Penalties on Buffalo again. The heat in the 4th quarter 88+ degrees with 75% humidity wearing out the players. It used to be back in the late 80's-early 90's with Rusty Jones the Bills players looked in more shape then the Dolphins were. We will see this game.
  17. I agree with the article. Ryan tried to change up his defensive scheme and it blew up in his face. I think the Patriots took their foot off the gas pedal in the fourth quarter on both defense and offense at 37-13 thinking they had the game well in hand. In a playoff scenario I could see the Patriots ending that game 50+ to 13. Anyway, the only thing I can think of is that Ryan didn't trust his secondary to get the job done against Brady, and he must have thought that he couldn't get a rush on Brady quick enough to deter those 1.7 sec releases. So instead of blitzing, and running the confusing alignments that the Bills used against the Colts. This game the Bills sometimes rushed only three D lineman, and had guys like Kyle Williams, Jerry Hughes dropping into coverage. This to me is insane as you never ask players to do something they are not designed to do. C'mon, Jerry Hughes covering Gronk is such a mismatch Belichick must have been beside himself laughing. All Ryan needed to do was watch how the Chiefs demolished Brady, and the Patriots last year in week four. Brady is just like any other QB in that if you hit him enough he will get out of rhythm, and make mistakes. In this game I was hoping Jerry Hughes would get a few personal fouls from late hits on Marsha, and that aint gonna happen when you are rushing only 3 or sometimes 4 D linemen being blocked by 4 or 5 O linemen. The Patriots knew they needed to help those three rookie O line players so they kept a TE, RB in to help block. Those Pats rookies were never really challenged all game from what I saw. In this game I came away with a few thoughts. The Bills offensive line is in serious trouble if the Patriots can stack the box like they did and completely shut down the Bills offense. Incognito is a stud at LG, but that one position can't help enough when the rest of the line plays poorly. The Patriots defense is not very good and mostly benefited from good coaching, and a good scheme. Sadly Buffalo was out coached on both sides of the ball for a lot of this game. This game I would have thought that Ryan, and his defense would have been licking their chops at the thought of getting to Brady thru the three rookies on that offensive line. I also thought Greg Roman would be testing that revamped Patriot secondary without Revis Island. That #4 overall defense from last season is now ranked 30th! So very disappointing!
  18. To Belichick its all business, and he approaches the game like its a state of the art fortune 500 business.Everyone is accountable to do their jobs to the best of their abilities or they don't play, and are soon gone. Bill has no emotion in anything other then after the win, and after the win is down in the books then he can cheer. He tells his players to keep their mouths shut about other players / teams and let their actions do their talking. The guy is smart enough to figure out a way to keep Chandler from blocking, and just use him as a big red zone target. Does any team in the AFC East have a linebacker capable of covering Gronk by himself? Man i hate the guy, and admire him at the same time.
  19. Dropping Kyle Williams into coverage, and rushing only 3
  20. 60% should be just about right tho. 30 passes a game might make Taylor last in passes attempts but it should allow him to develop properly! Joe Flacco's first year the Ravens ran the ball 592 times, and passed only 433 = 27 passes per. The first series by Buffalo went, McCoy run +4 yards- QB scramble +23 yards- McCoy run +15 yards - pass to Watkins for +11 yards- pass, incomplete (overthrown)-McCoy run +8 yards-McCoy run +4 yards-Williams run +2 yards- pass Hogan +11 yards- Williams run +2 yards TD. 7 runs vs 3 passes. but then look at what happened to the Bills after that first series when they went right down and scored a rushing TD by Williams. The Patriots started stacking the box with 9, and sometimes 10 defenders. 2nd series, 1st down McCoy -1 yard- 2nd down pass Mulligan 2 yards- 3rd down pass drop back sacked -6 yards- PUNT. One run for a negative yard, and 2 passes. 3rd series, 1st down pass Watkins 1 yard- 2nd down pass Harvin -1 yards- 3rd and 10 pass drop back sacked -9 yards- PUNT. Three passes 4th series, 1st down McCoy run +2 yards- 2nd down McCoy run -1 yard- 3rd down pass intercepted. Two ineffective runs, and an INT on 3rd and 9 5th series, 1st down pass McCoy +9 yards- 2nd down McCoy run -1 yards- pass drop back sacked -9 yards, PUNT. one pass, one ineffective run, sacked Get the problem here? This continued until the end of the 3rd quarter. The Bills were very ineffective in moving the ball on the ground and that led to so much more pressure on Taylor. With the game well in hand and a 37-13 lead the Patriots stopped stacking the box and only rushed 4 the rest of the game. This allowed the Bills to get their run game going, and also allowed Taylor to heat up in the passing game. My point is the Bills need to find creative ways to move the ball when teams move up to stack the box. Taylor shouldn't need to shoulder the game at all, not with McCoy, Harvin, and Watkins who could all contribute to the run game. I'm really hoping the Bills find a way to run the ball as much as they said they would before the season started to allow TT his developmental time .
  21. I think the idea of this years offense was to throw around 25 times a game and rush around 35 times, and what we saw after that first series was Tyrod needing to shoulder the entire offense when the run game failed to work.
  22. NFN, and I know most of you guys will be doing this But I just can't help but wonder if Cassel didn't get some info to the cheaters about the offensive & defensive game plans for Sunday. Brady never looked so dominate against a Rex Ryan defense, and they were really able to put the screws to the bills offense for three quarters. I for one am darn glad he is in Dallas
  23. http://www.buffalorumblings.com/buffalo-bills-analysis-all-22/2015/9/23/9382025/tyrod-taylor-scouting-report-pocket-presence-bills-vs-patriots If the Bills can't run the ball during the game like they said they would at the start of the season. Then the entire offense goes on the QB's shoulders to make plays, and Taylor is back into that offense that killed EJ last year. Granted the offensive line is somewhat upgraded over last season at LG, and Incognito is playing so much better then expected. However, this year it looks like Wood, and Glenn have regressed badly, and Miller, Henderson aren't that good. Lets hope that the line plays better once Aaron Kromer is off his suspension. The Bills need to focus on building that power run game, and keep pounding the ball even when its not working all that well to help keep the pressure off of the QB.
  24. To the bold, for a number of reasons. First, Have you seen Matt Cassel play? He is a high percentage passer because he was always checking the ball down instead of pushing the ball down field. if the Bills wanted another QB like that they can just bring back Trent Edwards. Second, did you happen to notice how bad that Bills offensive line is when the Patriots stacked the box, and brought heavy pressure? Even someone as mobile as Taylor was mostly ineffective. Cassel the statue would be basically useless in that situation, and in his past he has had 1-7 / 4-11 seasons. Realistically the only two seasons Cassel has had were when he was with the Patriots, and one year with the Chiefs when he had the ex patriots OC (Charlie Weis) calling plays. Third, The Buffalo Bills must have a ton of confidence in both Tyrod Taylor as the starter, and EJ Manuel as the backup. Fourth, I dunno about you but I'm excited at the prospect of Taylor developing, and getting better. Then his backup is also learning as he goes, and developing. If EJ can play well behind last years worst in the NFL offensive line for two games, and did so when the team actually tried to run the ball instead of throwing 40+ times a game. I think he would do OK this year if something happened to Taylor. Lastly, I think the Bills did both the Cowboys, and Cassel a favor because they will need him more then the Bills, and behind their league best O line he might actually accomplish something if given a start.
