  1. Per Mike Rodak - Bills FB Mike Tolbert signed a one-year deal that qualifies for NFL's veteran minimum salary benefit. He received a signing bonus of $80,000 and has a $900,000 base salary -- but will only have a $695,000 cap number under the rule. https://twitter.com/mikerodak/status/841282167686668290 So, add $305k onto whatever cap figure you've seen/believe.
  2. I've seen it backed up by a couple of people that I trust on these matters. Exactly how the rule is worded is beyond me but I believe it's right. https://twitter.com/MrJeffHunter/status/841031003007246337 And I'd link our Bills Wire Slack group if I could
  3. #2 WR needs to be a decent possession type at least. Blocking would be nice. I'd sound out Anquan, just like I said last year. He's past his best but he's still a solid RZ guy and fits some prototypes.

  5. We should start a competition for a new nickname.
  6. Honestly, I'd say the same about Hightower. Paying him an eight-figure annual salary wouldn't be smart business. As far as Zach, I've said for a while that I could see him on both ends of the market spectrum. It depends on if they're more impressed with him before the bye or disappointed after it. Player with a history of not sustaining failing to play a full season at peak performance? I would've capped my offer around what Lorenzo got paid.
  7. And Ricky Wagner doesn't want to be called Ricky. Tough ****.
  8. #Blokes4GM2018, get it trending!
  9. I thought it was best to educate before some moron moans about it
  10. Wasn't tendered as an RFA so doesn't count against the comp pick formula.
  11. I know that Shanahan/Kubiak have run a lot of 2-TE sets and I know that it's a position of some need. However, it's about impact with a pick that high and I just don't see how he's an impact player. Clay is going to be the #1 guy because the FO can't afford him not to be. That contract makes him the true starter by proxy. So that makes Howard the #2 TE. It might well be a 'starting' role in the offense but it's not going to be a feature role. It never has been in any offense Dennison has led. The second TE has seen an average of 51.9 targets per season with Dennison as OC. That comes out as 3.24 chances per game to do something. Consider Tyrod as a 60-63% completion rate type of QB and that might end up being about 30-35 catches per season. I'm not signing off on that with the 10th pick.
  12. It's Mahomes Sr. with the alcohol issue
  13. Lewis counts $1.3 million with $100k dead money. They shouldn't cut him until they know that Groy is in the roster for 2017 though.
  14. We already have a #1 TE that can be that if he's given the ammunition to do so. We're also paying that guy $9m per year to be 'the guy', you're kidding yourself if you think that anyone is coming in and taking a lead role ahead of Clay in the foreseeable future.
  15. Without trying to turn this political, there is the small matter of your AG starting up Reefer Madness 2.0.
  16. Funny, could've sworn that he drafted John Miller and Cyrus Kouandjio.
  17. This is a scheme that got solid production out of Tony Scheffler, Owen Daniels and Joel Dreessen in the past. Spending #10 on a backup tight end would be bonkers.
  18. Have we considered that they're trying but that Tyrod's standing in league circles as a passer might be hindering wooing someone? Or that perceptions of what the Bills are (seen as run-first) might be stopping players from being enticed? Can't just say "we should sign this guy" as if he doesn't have a say in the matter. Damn you and your telepathy
  19. I have to stress, this is just me guessing. I haven't got a clue, just educated guessing on structures and market values. If you held a gun to my head, I'd guess cap space is somewhere in the region of $14.7m. Using the starting point as the OverTheCap figures as is. For reference, Sal had the Bills at $22m roughly prior to Alexander and Mills. I'd guess those deals account for around $6m between them(ish).
  20. Nobody really knows at this point. Contract details aren't flowing quickly so it's best guess stuff. The team knows but that's about it. I'm still missing full details on Alexander, Schmidt, MIlls, Ducasse, Hauschka & Poyer.
  21. I had a look and I couldn't find anything of his from Jerry's draft class. I follow him on Twitter so I could ask. I can't remember when he adopted the Force Players name. He also has an active spreadsheet grading the 2017 class. I trust my own eyes but if Justis talks pass rushers, I listen.
  22. That was Justis, if I understand you correctly. Force Players ring a bell? From last year - http://playmakermentality.com/2016-force-players
  23. But screaming into the ether after 47 hours seems entirely more Billsy as an approach.
  24. No Wonderlic on there but everything else you could dream of. My boy Sefo got buckets.
