  1. Without a doubt, the most awkward part of the document.
  2. For those who may not know, "Atlas" & "Missionary" both refer to Ayn Rand's "Atlas Shrugged". That book greatly influenced quite a few people including former Federal Reserve Chairman, Alan Greenspan. Michael Shermer wrote an interesting essay about how Rand's fans became almost cultish in their behavior.
  3. There should be a Canadian version of the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest at Coney Island that we have here in the States on the Fourth. How about a Timbits eating contest at the foot of the CN tower? Contestants would be allowed to dunk them them in Labatt's. It would like one of those grass court warm-up events like they have for Wimbledon. What's the worst that could happen?
  4. Strange. I've only had one friend have a panic/anxiety attack but the conditions are similar. Our whole high school running gang was together for a wedding about 8 years ago. We were together for 3 days and it was a great time of drinking/golf/dancing etc so it was like a mini trip back in time (except at the end we wore suits). He said about 2 hours into his long drive home, he had to pull over because he was having a panic attack. His wife is in the medical field and knew exactly what it was. And as someone else in the thread mentioned, prescribed a beer to calm him down. Jeeze - we're all getting together next month for a golf outing.
  5. Trivia: The actress that played the Busty Female Shop Assistant and delivered that memorable line was Gina Mastrogiacomo. She also played Janice Rossi, Henry Hill's mistress in Goodfellas and the prostitute in the Seinfeld episode with the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Sadly, she passed in 2001 due to rare heart infection. So now you know.
  6. 47? There's more candles on your cake than in a Meatloaf video. HBD!
  7. I've got another pill for you. Is this something you'd be interested in?
  8. I'm reminded of this (NSFW) when I learn English slang.
  9. I can't decide if the founding fathers were brilliant or stupid by making the right open to debate by writing it this way. If it were written like this: ... then the anti-gun group would be left to trying to get another amendment passed to repeal #2. Fat chance of that.
  10. Buffalo Buffalo (Double nickel)
  11. My buddies like to do shots of Patron. I needed a chaser.
  12. $2.25 for a 12 oz bottle @ Target today. That's some sticker-shock. Was $1.50 not long ago. Looks like I'll have to drop that other habit back to just just a couple bumps/day.
  13. From the fake Steve Jobs twitter account: @ceoSteveJobs: I heard the CEO of AT&T got married recently. The service was great but the reception was terrible.
  14. Tied with Venice. I found the data point that ruined Buffalo.
  15. So you've been here? My group of friends are mostly dudes with 2-3 kids and are totally afraid of their wives. One guy completely bucks that trend. They're all in awe of him. His wife once had the whole neighborhood over, kids running around going crazy. He was a little late getting back from an afternoon on the course. She simply asked him why he didn't call. His response: "What the f*&k do you want me to do? Call you from the course? I was golfing!" It was pretty great. I don't think those women want their husbands playing with me. I'm a bad influence.
  16. It's big news here in the Queen City (sometimes these jokes are too easy) that Charlotte is the "Manliest City in America". With "Salty Snack Sales" as a metric, the fact that Lance (maker of those awesome peanut butter & cheese crackers) is here was probably the deciding factor. It goes along with Dudefest this weekend, I suppose. Strange that Buffalo is ranked 47th out of 50. Hey, at least the Nickel City placed 2 spots ahead of Habana Norte.
  17. Agreed. Guy showed remarkable restraint. OBTW, Pretty nice pad. Just how deep in debt are these knuckleheads?
  18. So... what were you doing at Liberty University?
  19. Viking Funeral on Chautauqua Lake. If they don't allow that, something along the lines of what they did for Theodore Donald Kerabatsos.
  20. Should we consider the multiple posts aftershocks? Hey, is this thing on?
  21. I graduated HS with her cousin. So there's that.
  22. You'll want to listen to Bill Simmons' interview with Jeff Zimbalist (co-director). There you'll get some of the back story.
  23. That did occur to me since we basically lost Creighton, Delmond & Janette in that last episode. But the show is about how the locals are dealing with the effects of the storm. Season 2 will probably follow the downward spiral of Sonny, whatever happens with Annie & Davis, and the roller-coaster ride that is Antoine Batiste.
