When is everyone touching down in
HopsGuy replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have my company's "Holiday Gala" Saturday night in Hollywood. I just might have to ditch my date and meet you guys out. Other than Shooter's, where will everyone be? -
W.C. Fields? "Better here than Philadelphia"? Or are you referring to P.T. Barnum's "There's a sucker born every minute?" Anyway, check out the other "celebrities" listed there. It's a riot.

The Sports Guy's intern posted a link to Adam Vineteri's (sp?) charity stapler. Low and behold, Jimbo has one there, too. Jennifer Love Hewitt signed one as well. Could she possibly be any perkier?

It's Fezmid. My order is due later this week.

I'd recommend the Yale singers (Whiffenpoofs?) version of "O Holy Night". A Capella... awesome.

OT - How did you all think of your names?
HopsGuy replied to bartshan-83's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I just use my confirmation name. -
Yep, Suzy said it last night...
HopsGuy replied to Greg de'Ville's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
At the Indianapolis combine? Are you referring to Jevon Kearse as the 'freak'? -
Thanks for the view. Now tell us what we really want to know: How was the beer? Do they have Hale's Pale Ale at the Stadium? How about Alaskan? How about the rest of Seattle? Did you make it down to Pioneer Square?

The patience he exhibits reminds me a bit of James Brooks when he was averaging over 5 yards per carry with the Bengals. When he gets to 100% it will be interesting to see if he'll continue to try to shed the first tackler or simply try to run around him.

Screw you Jester! Get with the program! The Bills stink! Oh for the days of Flutie, or Lamonica for that matter! Did you see that piece on SportsCenter on the kid in SC that has cerebal palsy, but runs on the cross country team? It's a pretty inspiring story. Nice win for your Owls over Georgetown. The Bonnies are going to have a tough year. I went to the Orange Bowl Classic and saw Xavier over Miami. They'll be solid again.

Kauai: Princeville Resort Trust me.

I found this after using GG's cool site: Filter: Hey Man, Nice Shot This is about Budd Dwyer, who was the Pennsylvania state treasurer. He was tried and found guilty of racketeering, bribery, fraud, and conspiracy. On January 22, 1987, he called a press conference where he pulled out a gun, put it in his mouth, and pulled the trigger. He died instantly as cameras rolled and people in the room screamed. At least one TV station ran the footage on their local news.

HopsGuy replied to Mark VI's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's true. I used the same excuse in May for SunFest. Enjoy your holiday. -

Postal stamp increase...AGAIN......
HopsGuy replied to HelloNewman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Postal Service is mandated by the Constitution. What's the over/under on when there will be a call to repeal its existence? I'm not crazy about a 13% increase, but I'm still baffled by the fact that a government agency can deliver postage so efficiently at a low cost. -
First one that came to mind: "Ripple" by the Grateful Dead.

guys vegas trip hard rock or mandalay?

Hey Nose, Did you ever check out the Fontana Room at the Bellagio? The patio there is a view of the fountains. 2 drink minimum and the music is excellent. Very cool. -
Are you serious (pun completely intended). XMSR has 204 million shares outstanding, with a float of about 150 million. They haven't made money yet so there is no P/E. SIRI has 1.26 Billion shares outstanding, 1.24 Billion in the float. SIRI has 6x as many shares as, and it's price is just now one sixth, so they are trading comparatively even right now. SIRI has no earnings either so we can't really make a P/E comparison. I don't think there a concrete argument to be made for a share price of the mid 30s unless there is a justified forward looking earnings multiple that I haven't seen. Saying that SIRI should be in the mid $30s because XMSR is just doesn't compute. That's what soljc was saying with the KO-PEP remark. If my company had the same share price as one if it's peers, I'd be a multi-millionaire.

HopsGuy replied to freester's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm 34 and I've gone during March Madness for the past 2 years. I stayed at the Trop the first year and hated it. Stayed at Excalibur this year and liked it well enough. I'm there to gamble on basketball, so I really like Madalay Bay for the sports book. Where I lay my head really doesn't matter much to me. Hard Rock is better for women, but it's a bit away from the action of the Strip. I don't think you'll be disappointed either way, but I'd vote Hard Rock. Since $ isn't a problem, I suggest getting a limo for your transportation. You'll avoid the lines and the cost is about the same. Enjoy! -
Oh, I would imagine there will be some good debauchery at The Elbo Room. I'm not sure I'm going to the game yet. I just might be a walk-up. The Bills have really sucked the life out of me this season.

For the record, Theismann didn't decide to change the pronuciation of his name on his own. The sports information director at ND persuaded him to do so in order to promote his candidacy for the trophy. He did agree to it, though. That probably started him on his journey down the yellow cheese road. He did manage to win a SB, though. PS I can't believe this is my 1000th post

Yeah, I might be up for some debauchery. Maybe even some wanton depravity, too.

I don't have a question, but I read an article today about hedge funds that was interesting: Article

Yup, we can't resist paying less for the products we need. I know I can't. There was a great documentary on PBS Frontline last night called "Is Wal-mart good for America?" One economist from the Cato Institute said, "Sure we lose those jobs (like Newell Rubbermaid factories going to China), but Americans have more $$ in their pockets and they then buy other products that ARE made in America." This is just the normal evolution of business.
